Prices on a phone upgrade?? (NYC/NJ)

My parents complained to Cingular about not having good service where we live, and they are now getting sent 2 new 64k sim cards, and if that does not work (since they both have older non ENS phones) then she should call back this direct number, and Cingular will make them eligible for an early upgrade (their date as of now, is 2/29/05)

So I wanted to know if there is anyone out there who could give me phone prices on a 1 year contract renewal upgrade for a $59.99 + $9.99 plan

On the following phones... (On a 1 year renewal) [1 new phone for each line...]

Nokia 3120

SE Z500

SE T637

LG L1400

Nokia 6230

And if any of the above has rebates.... or are going to have rebates....

And if we get a good price ...

I think I'm getting a new phone and I am either getting the Nokia 6620 or the Nokia 6230. Which of those would you recommend?

Difference in phone prices - Online or phone sale vs. Going to a corp store.

Why is there a difference between the phone prices when you purchase it from calling the CService rather than going to a reg corp. store? I went to a corp store because I got an offer through the mail and the manager of the store said that they cannot compete with the price of the phone sales.
Are they training the customers to deal with the phone centers so that Cingular can get rid of the expense of paying for the rent or lease on regular stores.
Or are there two different sales departments for Cingular..

MMMMM.... Makes you wonder.. Same company different policies...

People who smear crap and expect others to agree.

I love it when someone posts something here that is total BS, then they are corrected and get upset and start saying how the person who actually knows what they are talking about is an a$$hole and a know it all and everything else.

If you don't want someone responding to your post, stop posting. Very simple.

They must all be cellular customers because I have to deal with it all day too. Same people who think because their buddy told them they got 2000 min for 19.99, can call in and get the same thing. Same people who expect 200.00 credit for overage, because they are a good customer and have only have service suspended twice this year. Same people who call and dispute a .20 late fee because they sent there payment two days before it w...

FT9NATP850RUMMUNW

This is my rate plan. It's a NATional Plan, 850 minutes, Unlimited Nights & Weekends. I can't figure out what the "RUMM" stands for. I'm guessing the FT9 stands for the $59 plan, which is what I have. Just nosy. πŸ˜‰

Signal Fade

Recently I purchased the Motorola V551. I upgraded/migrated? from AT&T to Cingular. I had the v600 and it was terrible. I experienced all of the problems that everyone has already discussed, so I won't bore you with them. My problem is signal strength. With my v600 on the AT&T network, my phone worked fine in my Condo. Sometimes the signal strength would drop down to one bar, but I could always (95% of the time) hold conversations without everything breaking up. My girlfriend has the V505 from AT&T and her phone works fine when she's here. It used to display AT&T, but the rep in the store changed the settings so that it now picks up Cingular. Her phone still works great. With my v551, the reception in my place is terrible. The si...

Telegence.....

who here thinks it sucks? I DO!..only thing I like is the back date, and a few other features, but as a whole....too much work, too many errors. It would be nice if they were able to combine Telegence featurees, with Odyssey. Snooper sucks, Clarify has already been down a couple times.

smartphone and cingular data dilemma

Help!

I just purchased all three to make a final determination as to which one will be my "permanent" device for accessing corporate e-mail and making calls when traveling.

The smt5600 is going back tomorrow.
I really like the mpx220 but am waiting to see if I can deal with low volume issues.

Treo....
-is feature rich, nice phone sound and RF quality, is supported by my IT dept. to connect to my corporate laptop's Outlook
-is a heavy brick... seriously, this thing is a heavy SOB
-leaning toward keeping the Treo because I really wanted it to access corporate email away from the office and none of the others seem to do this... this is really the ONLY reason I would think of keeping...

Please someone give me advice. Would also...

Wireless article

Hello All, here is a link to an article on CNN I found slightly intresting.
http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/12/20/cell.lag.ap/index ... »

This just makes me think of all the customer complaints we hear here are valid; well not all.
I don't think any carrier really does a great job of everything and when the cell phone industry in 2nd in complaints something should be done.
Another intresting thing I noticed on phonescoop is the most used forum is the motorola v710 forum, that is mostly complaints; this is where I interject Nokias are great!
My point of the post is that maybe the custmer is right more than reps let on, but I do enjoy the post of the really dumb ones.

I know it's a bit late, but V600 recall help?

I recently got a motorola v600 from someone who didnt use it a lot, I was hoping that I'd get lucky and wouldnt expertience the problems that plaqued others, but sure enough as of late I am getting dropped calls, not receiving calls, and getting just plain bad reception.

I called cingular and they told me about the recall and gave me a motorola number to call, I called and got outsourced tech support that was clueless as to the whole ordeal.

Does anybody have any information that might be useful regarding this matter, was there a specific number to call, am I too late to get it replaced or fixed, is the problem just my phone and not the recall at all?

I plan to call cingular again tomorrow to explain the situation and see if they kn...

Are all SIM cards that come with newly purchased and activated Cingular phones/plans the 64k type?

Also, is there any way of telling if your SIM card is of the 64k type?

Refung Limit Exceeded?...

Hi all...Okay...I download ringtones games and all the other good stuff...but then I cheat the system and go to the "direct bill" return purchase thing on cingular.com and just say that I dont want it anymore, etc. (And get my money back, before they cahrge it to my phone bill.) But now, I guess I've done this so many times that I have "Exceeded the refund limit"! It says call the customer care at cingular if I have any questions...I don't want to call them I jsut want my GREEN back!! What do I do? I fell embarrased to call them, 'cuz then they'll findo out waht I am doing!...

Thinking of moving to Cingular.

I’ve been waiting for verizons motorola v710 for a long time. Once it finally made it to the stores, I was about to run down to get one until I started to read about all the complaints users had.

I waited through the recalls but after reading the reviews it looks like Verizon has a dog on their hands and I’m not ready to pay $250 to $300 for that.

My old StarTac has about had it, I can’t wait too much longer so I need to find another phone. Although I would like one, I can live without a camera in a phone but I wanted the Bluetooth so it would be easy to use it as a modem for my laptop. I have an verizon aircard now and this way I can dump that expense. Is there another phone that you would recommend? I can't wait for Verizon to ge...

The 3120 in all its Nokia-ness.

Had a chance to walk into a Cingular (formally an ATTWS store...it still had the ATTWS sign out front) store today with my sister to upgrade her old Nokia 3360 (my gosh, was this phone a workhorse!) to something GSM flavored. We picked up a Nokia 3120 (she didn't want to have to relearn the menus, and I'm convinced that you can't beat a Nokia for RF on a GSM netowrk), and man was I impressed. Nice color screen, light as a feather...and some particularly cool "clickety click" high quality buttons (am I ever ready to get away from Nokia's "squishy" buttons it puts on its lower end phones...I have the 3589i). And hey, a speakerphone to boot! A nice purchase (and Christmas gift) that made my sister very happy. Now, if we didn't have to wait an h...
