MEdia Works Gone
I'm a total newbie but I want to get a Nokia 6620 and tether it to my Mac via bt. I have been trying to do the research myself but it seems Tmo is shutting down ports on tzones and now media works is no more. I am trying to choose between these two providers. Any feedback would be appreciated.
UMTS...the first phones we see
Does anyone know what kind of models we might see from the three manufacturers and which would be the one to go with?
-Nokia...always seeming like a cellular natural, sporting user friendly and high quality phones with a commitment to innovation.
-LG...once a not so known brand, they are becoming a household name in cell phones with a determination to be one of the best.
-Motorola...with a few not so great phones in recent history, they are making a come back and with a vengence to higher quality and better phones.
Good choices Cingular.
850 Mhz or 800 Mhz?
Phonescoop says that the terms 800 & 850 are interchangeable.
To make matters more complicated, Cingular's website shows quite a few phones on the 850 spectrum. So, is there really a difference between 800 & 850 and if so, wouldn't you think Cingular's 850 would be the predominant frequency going forward?
Thanks in advance for your opinoins!
Petition Post
I would people to reply to that post agreeing that Cain should be let back in.
If we maybe get enough people agreeing to this maybe he would be let back in.
my take on 64k sim cards and their actual use. please fill in the gaps
Anyway, the application on the new 64k sim card tells your phone which network to use primarily, this means that you can have a sim card which will choose either an AT&T network or a CINGULAR network as a primary network MNC (mobile network code) this is all completely random and you will not know which card uses which network primarily.

B-itching about Cingular CSR
A year ago I was given a plan by retention with some added perks. The perks fell off my account this billing cycle. Called 611, Rep told me things were on my account that shouldn't be there. I explained they were given as part of an offer to remain a 10yr plus customer. She researched some more apologized for removal an added a tracking code to keep straight in the future.
No one screamed or yelled and the problem was solved.
What am I missing without the 800 gsm band?
Just curious as to what I'm missing by not having the 800 band available on my phone. I have been using the SE t68 with Cingular for over 2 years now. Apparently this phone does not use GSM 800. I haven't had any real problems. I do encounter some dead spots now and then. Will my reception greatly improve if I move to a phone with GSM 800.
The main reason I'm asking is because I'm looking for a new phone.
Thanks in advance for any info on the subject.
