missing antenna

check this out...
customers come in all the time and say my phone barely works anywhere, at first look you can see the antenna is missing...
i've heard, i didn't have one when i bought it, yeah right.
can you just give me one???
well, most of the time we will go out of our way to get them an antenna, but since we don't do insurance claims in the store we are running out of parts of phones.
One woman asked for the antenna off of the fake display, sure lady.

if i break off my stick shift knob, and lose it, am i going back to honda for a free one??

our customers are babied, can't stand them. 😈 😈

How to activate an unlocked phone...

(1) does Cingular "frown" upon buying an unlocked phone from a third party then having it activated to use on their network?

(2) coming from ATTWS, how would I port my number in the case of buying an unlocked phone? Is it as simple as purchasing a SIM chip, installing it , then calling Cingular, or do I have to take the device into a retail store, or purchase the chip directly from Cingular?

(3) is this difficult to do?

I hope the posters here don't mind indulging my ignorance. I have tried to immerse myself in learning about this industry by spending time reading through posts on this forum, referring to the glossary, reading tech articles, etc. as well as spending time in the retail stores (with both good and bad results). ...

Migration question Blue to Orange...

I am considering migrating to get a better rate plan in addition to a phone with more features. I currently have a Motorola v60 and am looking at Moto v551 or Razr. I have been happy with the coverage/reception with AWS, although it is fairly expensive (650 one rate minutes, 79.95/mo, no free nights/weekends or MTM, and per message text messages). With the Cingular plans offered here, I can get comparable minutes, plus free nights/weekends, free MTM, and MEdia bundle which includes 1000 text messages, unlimited bandwidth for phone web browsing, all for $10 less than what I am paying now.

I am a little concerned about switching to the Cingular GSM network, just b/c I have no experience with the coverage/reception here in NW Louisiana (S...

Those were the days....

Whatever happened to the days when people just wanted a phone that worked & service that was exceptional? I miss the good ole days when i used to have questions about my bill (just needing a fee explained) & the rep would be more than willing to help me. I miss the days that i could call in & get help working my phone. I miss the days that i could go into a store & buy exactly what was needed.

I just received my most recent bill & had a question about an e-wallet charge. The rep immediately said, without letting me explain why i was questioning it, "All fees are administrated at the time of invoice & will not be credited". My response was "I just need to know what it was for & will it be a recurring fee." The rep proceeded to tell me that...

I could use some help and some advice....

I am currently a CDMA customer. But I am thinking to switching to Cingular next month. I have been to our local Cingular store here Gainesville, Fl. 32614. The sales person I spoke to here wasn't very acknowledgeable of the service here in north central fl. Can anybody tell me if Cingular has "overlaping coverage" from Lake City to Gainesville to Ocala to Orlando to Cape Caneveral, all these cities are all here in central part of Fl. Tower locations on a map do not do me any good. Who know when those maps were last updated?
Now I believe that Cingular probably a lot of the limted T-Mobile towers(because there so few of T-M towers) and T-Mobile would probably like to use as many Cingular towers that they would allow them to use.

Rebate question

Is it true that Cingular only allows one rebate offer PER phone?

That is what I was told today when I called the Rebate Center about a 2nd rebate that was promised to me when I signed up through SBC.

It was $50 back for any plan $39.99 and up, but since I got $50 back on each phone, they said I didn't qualify.

There was NOTHING in the fine print on SBC's Cingular site link.

Telling Lies...

I was in an AT&T store today that was changed to a Cingular store an overheard the rep. telling a man that if you have an unlocked phone and you are using it on the Cingular network, the network will automatically lock it... This is not true and he is just trying to squeeze out some more on a sale. Buyers Beware!! 😳

Whats going on with Cingular MMS and email alerts via Hotmail?

I have not been able to send MMS to T-Mobile or Sprint or receive MMS from anybody since I migrated.

Hotmail email alerts dont work either.

Called tech support all my settings check out on the handset.

I also read below that there are network problems Cingular is trying to resolve.

Anybody have problems with MMS and for those of you who have MSN Mobile how are your email txt alerts working for you?

Cingular website

Anyone know why the Cingular website is slower than a snail right now? Even using my phone to check my minutes the response is "check network services".

Nokia 9290 w/ cingular

Please some one let me know what kind of data connection I'm going to have with cingular, this phone does not have GPRS; and if its dial up, in what manner Cingular is going to charge me; is it going to cost me minutes or KB usage? I need to know I just got this phone.

Back Dating/Retroactive Changes To Accounts

I was told yesterday that I could not, even though I am only 5 days into a new billing cycle, make a package change (Media Works down to Media Basic) until the end of this current cycle, which would be 01.11.05. The rep. told me this was something new. Is this true? Can you say $hitty?

Also, I am thinking of turning off a third number (not family talk) immediately, but yet was told by the same rep. they do not prorate the final month. So I would be paying Cingular® for 24 days of service that I am not using.

Anyone have any ideas, comments? 👿

Agent Queue and CS

I'm so happy they've merged the two into the same department (I know it's still technically two, but you're the same person anwswering both departments.) CS has much more access than Agent Queue used to have. I promise not to abuse this blessing! Just wanted you to know how awesome this little agent thinks it is.
