I am excited to have Cingular come into MN. They already have more coverage than T-Mobile (my current provider)has. Anyone know when they are coming into Minnesota. Plus Cingular's phones far pass on anyone else's it seems to me. Any feedback would be great!

Does anyone know the timeline that the service will be offered? I spoke to a Cingular salesperson and was told that they hope the merger is completed by Thanksgiving, but did not know about the VA Beach area. My contract with Verizon ends in December and I would like to switch to Cingular. Any insight is appreciated.

I have TDMA service with Cingular and would like to upgrade to GSM. Does anyone know if Cingular will pricematch a deal found on Amazon.com or Letstalk.com intended for new customers only? I'd like to stay with Cingular, but I'd also like to get a good deal on a phone like the V600. Thanks for any advice.

Does anyone here use Cingular in western Washington, especially in the Seattle area? Any comments on coverage?

I'm with Verizon right now, as they have the best coverage from what I've seen. But I call Canada a lot, and $.20 per minute for LD to Canada is crazy. But I hike and go to the boonies a lot, so coverage is critical.

Someone I know was in a Cingular store the other day, and wanted to upgrade a phone. The sales rep wouldnt help them so the customer wanted to speak to a manager. The manager discussed why the customer could not get a new phone at the time, then slowly turned his back on the customer, and squeeked out a loud fart.

Then the manager just walked away and didn't look back.

Is this true? 😕

Cingular Wireless will continue to support TDMA for many years more as well as analog. There will be no flash cut in any market. GSM and TDMA will operate in unison. There may be degradation in the TDMA service but the support will not cease.

Do you guys think that this watchdog group is more so a special interest group under the control of another carrier? or is this a conspiracy theory that just seems alittle to fare fetched. Let me know what you guys think.

What is this I'm hearing...Dow Jones News is stating that a Consumer group called Consumer Federation of American, is trying to slow the FCC's review...saying that the 6 months will not allow them enough time to analyze new info the FCC has given them? Any input on this?

My mom has an old Nokia 5165, and she heard that Cingular will no longer be allowing people to use TDMA handsets on the network. I know they don't sell GAIT plans or phones anymore, so they're definitely pushing people onto the GSM network... She also doesn't want to get rid of her phone. She's kind of old, and she's comfortable with what she has now...

I'm just curious if any of you guys had heard anything about a firm date.

I have a nokia phone that only works on 900/1800/1900 bands and live in the Nashville Market. I can't seem to get the internet to work on it. It is always on cingular extend so I don't know whose towers it is using but i suspect ATT. Could someone at the cingular store know how to set it up? I called customer service and they couldn't help. it is the nokia 7250i. I use it international but that it would be nice to use it here to get on the internet. My other phone is the 6340i or gait phone and it has no problems. Any suggestions or help is appreciated. Is what I want to do even possible?

I am a sales employee with SunCom and with the impending purchase by Cingular, I am very curious of Cingular's commission structure for retail sales. If anyone can give me very general data, I would really appreciate it. Starting hourly wage, commission structure for phones, features, etc....

I've always thought that this merger is not going to have a good outcome for us customers, Imaging after Cingular & ATT merger VZW and Sprint merging also, then picture T-mobile being bought out by whatever ATT & Cingular's new name would be, that will leave us with only 2 main providers, competition would be terrible, prices might go up etc etc.

No bashing here...just an honest question...how is the merger going...are you having any problems...and just a question for Cingular employees...do you feel your company over paid for AT&T? Again I'm not bashing just interested...

I will be traveling to the Cayman Islands next week and have a few questions about roaming with my Motorola V400.

I saw on Cingular's website that in the Cayman area, there are 2 carriers they have roaming agreements with. Do I get to choose which carrier or not? If so, how do I do that?

Also, does anyone know if my text messaging will work or not?

What about GPRS? Can I get on the Internet?
