questions regardeing cs

I just stopped by the store for the first time in a long time today with a few questions and my old 6340i's display has gone crazy! First I asked about new phones coming out this month. He told no and there might be something in September. ok, whatever. Next I asked about my Euro phone the 7250 can recognize cingular extend towers in Nashville but I get the error message "no access". Response: "Your on your own, we don't us that phone", as he was sending a text message on his phone! I asked why it used to work in Nashville and his response was "Thats wild". I asked then if they could fix my old 6340, he said they no longer had a tech. Ok, not good so far. I asked about my 7250 working in Europe, He said no. ???? He also said I need...

HSPDA

Will the voice side be using this (VoIP) or are they going to seperate their spectrum and have this be a data-only thing and have the voice keep its own spectrum?

New Data Plane and Int'l Roaming

Is Cingular coming out with new data plans anytime soon. I mean paying almost $80 a month for unlimited access is too much. Everyone talks of how their new EDGE or EV-Do (CDMA) is faster, but who cares if no one wants to pay for it. Do many people and do they actually use it that much. T-mobile seems to be the most forward thinking on that with cheaper plans. If that is the future of wireless technology make it cheaper! Also Cingular uses gsm like the rest of the world but I hate paying 1.29 a minute. So how does anyone really take advantage of worldwide GSM when it costs so much? I am just ranting my views. I have felt left out of the Verizon/Cingular pissing contests. Don't get me wrong I have been with both, Cingular/bellsouth f...

No better time to shut up.

Kingfrog, really now...

I LOVE Cingular and AT&T's service in my area and couldn't even begin to find a better value. Everything that Cingular and AT&T has to offer pleases me more than enough. I have had Verizon before and although the coverage was great, they are a bit high priced. I have also had Sprint in my area too. Rest assured this is an unbiased opinion.

I would have to say that nearly 99% of the all that you post in these forums makes you look 100% clueless. I really would have to agree with everybody who has ever told you that you pull your ideas out of nowhere. If you are really that into Cingular and GSM blowing Verizon and CDMA out of sight and mind, I would suggest that you base AT LEAST SOME of the things you post...

New Cingular Handset

I am looking to pick-up a new handset in the next few months. I am interested in the V600, but concerned about Motorola's quality control issues as well as a few of the software quirks. Any suggestions??? Has Motorola resolved their issues or is their something else on the horizon worth waiting for? Any help would be appreciated! Eric

Question on Data for PhonePimp..

I do not use the date feature on my phone and have enter a phony WAP because the online button can be inadvertently hit causing the phone to go "online" I think even if I do not "surf" as it were data is still being processed.

So far I have used 700Kb of to and from. I think I will be charged $7 for that, when I first got the phone I DL'd some rings from SE.

Is it correct that I will incur data exchange if just "online'? If not i will use the correct WAP profile and take my chances.

Cingular in Scranton, PA and I-84

Since the Cingular ATT acquisition, I was wodering if anyone out there knows how good the coverage is in Scranton, PA. I know that they use ATT towers by here, and ATT is one of the leading providers here, but I wanted to know if Cingular has their own towers here. Also, Cingular has full digital coverage from Scranton to the NY border on I 84, right?

Costs when you cancel within 14 days

I bought my SE T637 phone on a Friday and I tried to return it on Monday. They were having computer problems and I ended up returning it on Tuesday. I had 25 minutes of talk time. I did call Cingular on Monday and say the phone was being returned to cancel my service and I would be retuning it to the store.

I ended up with a bill being mailed to my house about a week later. It was for $80.

$39.95 for the service
$25 ish for activation (I think, I don't have the bill with me right now)
$7 for the online web service (which was supposed to be free for 30 days)
$3 for the roadside assistance, which I didn't want but was free for 60 days and he just added it on before I knew it.
$x for taxes and such.

This all added up to about ...

How close is Cing's National GSM coverage to VZ Single Rate?

I was wondering if the Digital One Rate and Single rate plans are that far ahead in coverage to pay the premium.

Does anyone know how the coverage compares accurately in percentage terms? In area? In metro's covered?

Seems to me I read somewhere Cingular is within single digit percentage points in coverage and will exceed Verizon's coverage after the ATT deal is closed.

I was on digital One Rate for ATT the first couple years when I realized I did not travel much outside the network and i would have been better of paying the roaming charges rather then the premium for the "care free" national coverage.

OMG Did GSM do better in the last QTR than CDMA?

IS this true? If so I will predict Cingular will dust Verizon within two years instead of three.

85percent (proud council of 11 member)

1. you said that our jobs in the wireless industry barely require training.

2. you consistently say state things that aren't true (when you compared our phone plans to Cingular's, you were completely off with the price and minutes)

3. you make predictions and assumptions about Cingular that even the Cingular employees here know aren't true.

4. stop posting for a while. nothing you say really makes any sense.

5. i wish i could teabag your forehead.

I had to repost this because it so much reveals your true colors.

1. Baiting for some Cingular help with this one? Yes even they will have to agree they do not require a whole lot of training unless you consider 8 weeks a lot of training! Dealers in Las Vegas
