AT&T Land of Confusion

I have been getting so many answers to my 2 questions.
I have family plan with corporate discount with unlimited PDA plan for the primary line and would like to purchase iphone for my primary line.
Would I lose corporate discount on my entire plan or just the iphone line? Can I just add the iphone and its data plan?

IMEI ON A DATA PLAN FOR A NON-BRANDED PHONE?

Hi, i recently purchased a Nokia N95-3 from ebay and I sold my old Moto Q9h in the process. I called ATT today to add the unlimited Media Max plan, the $15.00 one that only includes internet. at the time i was using my old phone, a old nokia, so they told me they needed that IMEI to prove that i wasnt trying to use the lower package on the Q9h. well, i told him that i had purchased an unlocked phone and that it was waiting at my house but i wanted to go on and add the plan (it wouldnt let me do it on the internet due to the old imei)

he told me 2 things that were pure crap, but im going to lay them out here so i can confirm what i thought.

1. he told me that a unbranded phone wont work on att... pure bulls&#$.... if that were true t...

AT&T customer service

Please do not tell customer service reps that authorized retailers can handle their internet/telesales channel returns. We can't. The customer doesnt understand the difference between sales channels, but customer service reps should. If you set the customers expectation to be one thing, and it turns out it's not, then you have a pissed off customer, and we are the ones who have to deal with it. Furthermore, by improperly setting customer expectations, you are damaging AT&T's reputation.

Standard forum disclaimer--I know not all customer service reps do this, I know most reps do know the difference between the various channels, blah blah blah. If the shoe fits, wear it.

Upgrading to 3g Iphone

I have read that current non-iphone users, here is the link that says what the upcoming qualifications are to upgrade to a new iphone.

http://wireless.bestbuy.com/autocontent.aspx?pageid= ... »

Now I am eligible for a phone upgrade and have been since April. Since I got my phone in Dec of 06'. I am currently under a 2-year contract and my plan is $93 total a month. Thats both data and calling. Will I be able to upgrade to the 3g Iphone or will I have to pay a fee or the full price for the phone? Should I call At&t and ask them? Also my current contract was started under Cingular. I had to pay an upgrade fee to go from At&t wireless to Cingular. Will I have to pay that again? I think it was like 18 dollar...

Hey there folks, what AT&T offerings work best when syncing to a Mac, besides the iPhone. Do most new phones include software for Macs?

No Contract

I read on an AT&T press release that a person could obtain service without signing a contract:

Buy a phone at full price and go on a month-to-month service plan.
Bring your own compatible GSM device. With this option, you can buy a SIM (subscriber identity module), slip it into the back of the phone, and select a month-to-month service plan.
Choose one of AT&T's GoPhone prepaid wireless plans.

However, I recently called AT&T customer service to ask about this. The woman told me the only way I could get service without a contract is to get prepaid. Can anyone clear this up?

What Is The Policy ??

Hi gang....Have a question for the At&T reps here. I bought an iphone back in March ($499 - 16GB) and activated it on itunes. When I logged on to my account on the AT&T website, I noticed that I was eligible for a phone upgrade at that time, my thinking is because I bought the iphone unsubsidized. I understand that I signed up for a 2 year commitment with At&T when I activated the iphone but because I paid full price for the iphone, couldn't I get another phone later at a subsidized price if I was willing to sign a new 2 year deal ? When I go into my account now, it says that I'm not eligible for upgrade. My question, if I want to change phones to a BB 8310 or Bold when it is released, will I have to pay full retail AND sign a new 2 year dea...
