Deutsche Telekom Confirms Keeping T-Mobile USA Unit
The Wall Street Journal earlier Friday reported that the German telecoms company decided to keep the unit, quelling rumors that the fourth-biggest U.S. cellular carrier is up for sale. It cited people familiar with the situation.
Deutsche Telekom management has long debated whether to sell T-Mobile USA, merge it with another U.S. wireless operator or keep it and continue to invest billions of dollars in its network.
As recently as May, Deutsche Telekom Chief Executive Kai-Uwe Ricke was floating the idea to investors of selling the U.S. operation, but he decided against it, partly because the response w...

08/21/2005 20:40:18 EST Debate Over Cell Phone Towers Growing
By JIM SALTER
AP Business Writer
After two years of boisterous meetings and litigation, the 150-member Southampton Presbyterian Church surrounded by closely-spaced red-brick homes is at odds with its neighbors over an issue that has nothing to do with theology.
T-Mobile plans to construct a cell phone antenna along the chimney of the two-story, 89-year-old white-stone building. In return, the company will pay rent to the church.

Deutsche Telekom Not Selling T-Mobile USA
"Ricke said then that Deutsche Telekom would decide by the end of 2005 how it will proceed with costly investments in a 3G network, either bidding alone or gathering partners for a joint bid to operate one."
""On the contrary, we are now in the process of preparing for the next step. That includes taking part in the tender for new (wireless) spectrum," he said in remarks posted on the paper's Web site ahead of publication on Saturday.

Where is T-Mobile's coverage headed?
I've looked at their coverage map, and it just seems to be spotty, which isn't necessarily a big deal since I live in a bigger city, but I am wondering if anyone knows what their goals are. They seem to be sort of the "smaller" (in the US at least) carrier with cheaper prices, and friendly plans, but not as good of coverage all over. Are they going to continue to expand and try to challenge the other big carriers, or continue to be strong and do well in their little niche?

Moto v360 (and other T-mobile) news
After talking to someone at t-mobile on the phone and getting nowhere, I went into one of their stores ready to just settle for something they have in-stock right now since my Nokia 3650 is old and falling apart.
It was killing me because the Samsung slider and the Nokia flip don't friggin' have Bluetooth which I have grown used to. Anyway, out of desparation, I just started talking to the rep there about the lack of Bluetooth in the t-mobile lineup and how old the v330 is and he actually said they have a replacement coming. He has actually seen it and said it would be exclusive to t-mobile.

what frequencies are prevalent around Birmingham, AL
Is the 850/900 issue a big deal in the Alabama area? Or are there enough 1800/900 frequencies that she might see decent phone service.
Thanks for any info you can provide.
We might test it with my Cingular SIM to compare the difference.
Should I Stick with T-Mobile or get Cingular
