T-Mobile Hurricane Updates

T-Mobile Relief Efforts

T-Mobile has restored its wireless coverage in the Gulf Coast areas hit hardest by Hurricane Katrina to either normal service levels or near normal service levels. T-Mobile's Disaster Recovery Team, working around the clock following Katrina's devastation, has repaired or restored service to many of its existing cell sites in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama damaged by the hurricane.

T-Mobile also was the first wireless carrier to restore wireless service to the hardest-hit areas of New Orleans. T-Mobile engineers successfully repaired, and are operating, several sites in the area including a high-capacity cell site on top of a hotel on Canal Street. T-Mobile wi...

Newbie mistake...

If any T-mobile reps are out there any help would be appreciated...I have decent experience with CDMA phones over the past 6.5 years, but 2 weeks ago I got a T-Mobile phone. Out of curiosity, I tried some of them codes that are out there that showed Hardware version, software version, stuff like that. I thought I steered clear away from codes that reset stuff like EEPROM, but one code showed up as "general defense code erased". What does that mean? So far, I I can't access T-Zones anymore. Not that I care much, because I don't have the web enabled, nor do I have the cash to buy ringtones or games. But I hope that is all the damage I have done to it. By the way, I have a Samsung SGH-x495.

Thank you.

create your own handset

okay, since so many people are hell bent on bitching about how bad each others companies phones suck, what would be the best phone in your opinion, i.e. size, features, OS, hardware, etc. It just seems silly to me that a manufacturer will come out with a new product and there are all these little ignorant whiners that will sit and pick apart a phone just because it "only plays 100 songs" or "doesn't do my dishes each night"!! Come on!! this industry is all about retail! RETAIL!!! that means it is consumers as a whole!! not the .05% of you people on this site and others (you know who you are) who decide which way a manufacturer will go with their product. It's hit or miss, you win some, you lose some. YES, the C332 was a bad phone, YES, we al...

TMobile To Go Katrina Offer

Now this is cool! 😎

T-Mobile is pleased to extend a special offer to T-Mobile To Go (Prepaid) customers located in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama during the month of September. Starting today and throughout the month of September, T-Mobile will ensure that each Prepaid account maintains a $50 balance.

T-Mobile will monitor each account (in the above areas) every two hours. If the customer has less than $50.00 on their account, an adjustment will be applied to bring the customer back up to $50. All credits will be automatically applied to their accounts.

For example: If a customer has $50 and uses $20 within the two hour timeframe, T-Mobile will post the $20 back onto their account to bring the customer back up to $50.

T-MOBILE WINS AGAIN 2nd YEAR IN A ROW!!

EPT TESTS (San Antonio branch) RECENTLY DID A TEST WITH 4 MOJOR CELLULAR PHONE COMPANIES (t-mobile, sprint, cingular, verizon) EACH WITH THE SAME KIND OF SERVICE AND WE FOUND THAT 65% of Calls from Verizon were droped. 53% of calls from Sprint were droped, 20% Cingular dropped, and 6% T-Mobile calls dropped. To find out more about the data email [email protected] and ask for the results!

T-Zones

Ok, I'm a happy new T-mobile customer. I have some questions though...
I also have a phone with Cingular (100% GSM boy here -I'm just a dork-) anyway, my question is about T-mobile's T-zones. How does T-mobile charge for the usage of T-zones?
Is it the same way Cingular charges for MEdia Net? (0.01 per kilobyte) Or is it only when I dowonload something? I don't have what cingular calls a "Media Net" package. I have 5MB of Media Net (with cingular) so if I check the weather, news, d-load a ringtone etc, I'm covered for the kilobytes I use while doing that. Do I have to get some type of data package like that with T-mo too? if so, what's the name of it?

I stopped waiting for new handset! Gimme the 6681/6682!

Hey y'all,
I have given up all hope on Tmo coming out with a phone to replace my yummy nokia 3650 that has treated me so well for almost 2 yrs.
I have decided to purchase unlocked phone via 3rd party.
Are there any cons to doing this? Will Tmo hate me forever?
I have become smitten with the nokia 6681/6682. It does all the great things the 3650 does and more.
Any input/mudslinging shall be accepted. 😲
