Anyhow, an Alltel sales rep has written in to share his insider tips to getting the most out of your Alltel experience, whatever that may be. Enjoy!

Get a 1 year contract and upgrade every 9 months. "You can upgrade 90 days before your contract expires. So if you do a 1 year contract each time, you can upgrade every 9 months. Alltel reps are not supposed to "stack" contracts, so your original one will be removed (or lowered to 1 month remaining) every time. With Alltel, you pay $60 more for the phone than a 2 year contract."

Well I upgraded yesterday to this phone.(actually the first one to get it in my town).

Let me say, it is VERY impressive. Light as a razor, twice the power.
I got mine for a lean $100 with 2 year contract and a $50 rebate.

-Reception is superb, I get 2 bars where my old phone got No Service.
-Very slim and light, no longer doe's it look like I'm 'Happy' to see someone just because my phones in my pocket.
-Clear, big and bright screen


Love everything about it except...
The keypad is somewhat difficult to get used to, with no key indentations texting can be a bit difficult.

I know it has to be soon, but does anyone know the exact launch date?

Okay so I do a lot of phone switching, and after trying the Treo 700wx for a good amount of time I can officially say its junk.

Sales people (me being a former one) please let customers know that a majority (a large majority) of programs will not work on the Treo 700wx. Reason being, look at an Ipaq or a PPC 6700, 6800. The first thing that will grab your eye is that larger screen. WELL GUESS WHAT! Most programs are written for that larger screen. Making the Treo 700w/wx useless. Or atleast hard to get software for.

But on to the bread and butter of this post:

I switched now to the Treo 700p and wow!!! The software support is phenomonal.

Any alltel employees here any rumors of a merger with US Cellular???

This morning on Alltels website it shows that the LG 8600 is now available onlione for one week only. I called to purchase the phone and I was told that the phone was not available yet. I told her about the website and she said was for new customers only. That sucks!! I am a customer wanting to spend money and they did not want my money.

Customer walked into our sprint store asking for help... a prankster locked his phone, and I have no way to unlock it. Anyone have any idea how I might remove that lock code?

Have you guys heard of this website? It is a nice way to get out of your contract without the ETF!!! 😳 😁

I haven't been on phonescoop for quite sometime but I do have a few questions for this forum. I used to work at VZW in NY until about a year and a half ago. I now live in Florida and I am shopping around since my contract with VZW is almost up. I am looking for a 4 phone family plan and going by price, you have VZW beat hands down since it looks like you have 200 more minutes and the MyCircle. (correct me if I am wrong). I see on the website that it states you have the largest network..when did this all happen?? Is it true? I still travel from Florida to upstate NY and just want to make sure I am still getting good service. I know Alltel is mostly based in the south and thats the only reason I am bringing this up. I heard that samsung is coming out with the sch-r510l for alltel sometime at the end of the month or something but I cant really find anything about it! Has anyone heard anything more about it?

I want to be the first to welcome Alltel to the Verizon Wireless family. Its only a matter of time before we join together.

The LG 8600 can be pre-ordered on Alltel's website starting today (Thursday) The phone comes in 3 colors, green, blue, and gold.

Its now March 1st and still no Motorola q for alltel! Whats REALLY going on?

Since I can't preorder the LG 8600 in my area, I was wondering when the phone will be released.
A very nice friend of mine that works for the Alltel center in my city volunteered to save me a LG VX8600 once they are released.
