Mobile Web sreen question
Has anyone else noticed that when using the Mobile Web app there is a portion of the screen just under the icons that shouldn't be there? It is the same horizontal bar that is behind the 'Main Menu' label when the menu is active. On my phone it 'pushes' the screen down and causes the '4 More' and '8 Subscriptions' buttons to be hidden behind the strip on the bottom that displays the Back, menu icon and Select lables. What's odd is that there is a picture on the back of the box the phone came in that shows the browser screen without the bar there. There is also an image on the CD guide that came with the phone that shows the browser screen without the bar. Is there a setting that allows you to get rid of this. My apologies if this is a known...

playing Mp3 on my cell
today i recieved the tf card and the reader today i transfered about 12 songs onto my card. when i went into sounds i could only find 4 of them. all the songs i downloaded into the songs were mp3 format. is there a limit or could have been a format issue if so is there a program i dl to change it into a format that the phone will accept. thanks for you help

v710 vs lg7000 vs 670
ive had the 710 for nearly two weeks now so i need to make a decision as to whether i keep this or not. i absolutely LOVE the speakerphone but am not happy at all with the picture quality indoors or the volume when talking w/o speakerphone. I like the bluetooth ability, but can't afford the wireless headset at the moment. i like the menus, but i dont like the shininess of the phone and it gets very smudgy. can anyone tell me if i would like the 7000 any better? how bout the samsung 670?

Analog/Battery life
In my office building, my phone is always on analog. After a full nights charge I am only getting eight hours of battery life. Is anyone else experiencing battery life issues similar to this?

i managed to set up my own wap server using broadband
since my broadband was already an 'always on' connection, i set up a wap server that i can access from anywhere with my v710 while i'm on the go, it works exactly like the free wap service that i've seen posted on this forum, however, i use my own internet connection and i can manage the server myself and monitor everything using my existing internet..also, i'm not at the whim of the administrator for the free access..since i'm the admin! never have to worry about access or cancellation problems again! oh and the best part...free! i recommend doing the same for all v710 users with a broadband connection!

VZW MESSAGE
Just receives a text message from VZW about a Free VZW software update. Asks you to dial *228 option 2 to update the phone. Did it and it was NOT the normal PRL update as there was "SPL Unlocked OK!" then "Activation OK!" came up on the screen (this does not happen with a normal PRL update).
Now the real question... does anyone REALLY know what this update corrected? Don't want speculation, just the facts!

A couple of bluetooth questions about the 710

1) I have the phone set so it doesn't answer when it is opened. If I have the 810 earpiece off (closed) and my phone rings, and open/turn on the headset, it answers the call instead of waiting for me to push the button on the earpiece. I have auto-answer set to off for the headset of course. Anyone know how I can get this behavior? People complain that they have to listen to the annoying scratching sound as I'm trying to put the earpiece on after the phone rings.
2) Can you sync with outlook on a pc via bluetooth or do you need the USB cable with the phonetools?

LEVEL 2 or 3 TECHS OUT THERE, Could you "lose" a copy of the firmware flash file?
Please? Both before and after november update... It'd be nice to be able to flash our own phones as needed... pretty please? If not a flash, how about a level 2 or 3 manual? 🙂 🙂 🙂

Spoke With James Afni: Tier 2 Supervisor From Verizon
I have had this phone for over 2 weeks now. I finally got mad enough to call Motorola about the problem with the bluetooth. They said to contact Verizon. Which I did.
Spoke with Tier 1- Dang these people are ignorant.
Transfered to Tier 2-This girl said they didn't know about this issue so I asked for her Supervisor.
Spoke with James Afni. He called Motorola while I was on hold. Came back and said he had heard nothing about the bluetooth functionality problem. He told me that its ridiculous that its not fully functional(Politics) He said that moto hasn't even been given the go on a software upgrade and that Late Nov would be the target date. He is going to check with the higher ups at Verizon and see if he can find anything else out...

Transcoding Denis Leary's Lock'n Load to 3g2 format in 5 min chunks... want some comedy on v710?
Reply to the thread and if there's enough interest I'll post it... its about 90% of the HBO special, its being batch encoded by TMPGenc now to be transcoded to 3gp2 this morning... its in 5 minute chunks, about 5 megs a pop when they come out of the nokia converter...

MP3 Volume TOO quiet
I did all the backdoor increasing of the volume and it is still way to quite. Is there anything else I can do? The phone is rendered useless as an mp3 player. Unless you are in a room with complete silence you can't hear a thing. Forget using it on the subway in NYC.
