Motorola V710

I have a few questions about this phone that i was wondering if anyone can answer. I was thinking of getting this phone but after reading alot of reviews im not so sure

1) How is the reception? With all the cr@p on phones now days it hard to rermemebr that we have them to make calls.

2) How is the camera? I have a motorola v400, is it better then that one? I know its not really a 1.2MP camera, but is it aleast better then the v400?

3) How is the MP3 player? I have a portable mp3 player but sometimes i dont feel like carring both and would like to just use the phone to play mp3 every once in a while, so how does it sound?

4) I dont use bluetooth and some other features people haev complained about, so is it worth it for me to get ...

Cut the ****.

I posted before that the V710 does not work with the BMW bluetooth. In response to one poster's suggestion, I bought the Motorola V600 and paired it with my BMW.

Amazing grace, the V600 not only works (does not repeatedly connect/disconnect) but it also transferred the phone book to the car.

Now I have proof that the V710 bluetooth suxors and I am going to start an email campaign to tell Motorola that their V710 is crap and that they need to fix it.

It pisses me off that the V600 will cost me $75 bucks and it works vs. the V710 which cost me $200 bucks and it does not work.

Everyone with BMW's should write Motorola to get them to fix the problem.

Does anyone know of any other Video converter that can be used besides Nokia Multimedia Converter 2.0 that can be used with Windows ME? Also, what are you suppose to rename the file .3gp or .3g2?

the camera isn't working great indoors becausee of the floresent lighting. so just take out the floresent lights and replace the with normal lights. almost no megapixel camera works good i floresent lighting.

I asked this with a few times with no answers other then the phones send later is not for this. Well before anyone says that this is what it is for.
Can people test the send later function on their text messages? This option is on the v710 when you hit the menu key on the last screen before a text message is sent.

If you could send a text message to yourself to be sent 1hr 5 min from the time you start this test.

If you could post
When you sent the message
What time you had it set to send to yourself
And what time you got the message
And what state you are in.

I have about 15 gmail invites so if you do test and want an invite ill give you one

Just figure on my luck. An easy install, and I manage to screw it up...

Yesterday, I installed VZW Mobile Office. It works great, albeit a little slow. I expected the slow speed, and internet from anywhere in the US is pretty cool at any speed.

However, much to my chagrin, I soon discovered that my built in wifi (802.11b) no longer connects to a wireless network. It gives the error "access is denied" when I try to renew my connection.

When I installed the VZW Mobile Office, I chose not to have it recognize my wireless card. Was this a problem?

Has any one else experienced this problem? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Is anybody having the same problem as i am?... all of a sudden when i go to media gallery and hit 3 for music or try to access it it just freezes unless i hit end and go to the home screen. and in order to open it again i have to turn the phone totally off and then back on in order to go to the music.... any suggesstions???

I am wondering how much interest there would be for a Vaja leather case for the v710.

I had never heard of Vaja until a couple of weeks ago, when someone posted something on HoFo about their cases. You can look at their website at www.vajacases.com. Looking at similar cases, it appears a v710 case would be in the $30 range.

It looks like Vaja makes extremely high end leather cases. The case for the Motorola v600 has a metal mesh covering over the speaker, which, of course, we could use as well to cover the v710's speaker. The belt clips, which I think are optional, also look to be of very high quality.

Also, apparently the case for the v600 covers the camera lens, so that the camera can not be used while in the case. I personally wo...

Why are there gmail posts all over this forum?
does it have anything specifically to do with the V710 and/or Verizon?

I noticed on the TF card when viewing from my PC that there are several folders under the Motorola main folder. I've tried placind the MP3 in many different folders and also not even in a folder. When I plug in the TF card in the 710, reset the power, and then go to the media gallery, it will not find the MP3's on the card. Same goes for any pix as well. Any clues as to why. Thanks.

Does anyone know of software I can use to convert mpeg movies to .3g2 to play on my phone. I need something free I can download. Thanks. 😁

Can anyone tell me what's the next phone to come out for verizon wireless, because from what i'm hearing the v710 is not all that ?

Just hooked up my multi card reader and downloaded all my pics to my PC.
To bad the pic quality is terrible at best.
But I really din't expect a cell phone camera to actually take a pic like the one Verizon shows in its ads.
Now I have to make a note to send Verizon the .25 per pic charge........He,he,he

If we do get a Firmware update, I would imagine that it would wipe the internal phonebook clean.

A few questions:

1. Is it possible to back up the internal phonebook and then reload it?
2. Can you save it to a TF card from the phone?
3. Can you DL it from the phone onto your computer from the USB cable that's available and reload it to the phone later?

I have tried to convert the files to .mid, as well as sending the .mp3 through e-mail and vzwpix, and the phone can't download the file.

How can I do this without buying cables and transflash cards and all of that?
