I really do not know what people are complaining about. I did the normal burn in for the battery on the phone and it works perfectly. Infact, after a whole day of usage my battery is still on full. I did not do the inbetween charges either and it is great. I used to work for rs and let me tell you people that you need to burn in your batteries. Charge them up all the way and then run them down to nothing. Do this a couple of times and they will last longer.

anyone know any way to use SSH on WAP

What information can Verizon transfer if I exchange my 710 for another one? I know that the contacts will transfer but will the pictures, ringers, video, etc. transfer?

Can you choose different ringtones for different people text message you like you can with caller id for income phone calls.
I have been able to with all my old phones I would hate to think you can not do this with the v710.

anyone know how to shut off that low battery indicator... even when i have the phone on silent the indicator is still very loud....

Anyone else annoyed that u have to hold the phone JUST right to hear someone? The v60 I had prior to this phone was so loud that I had to literally hold the phone AWAY from my ear. This stupid thing is so quiet and u have to hold it JUST right. ANNOYING.

I havent been on the forum in about 2 weeks so I dont know if this was covered yet... but does anyone think this camera takes crap pics indoors and at night? the LG phones can snap pics indoors without a problem and can take SOME pics at night if there is enuff light...

Anyone know how to get an animating wallpaper to animate? My phone came with 2 animating wallpapers but when I select either one of them, they don't animate. I called Motorola and was told that if resetting the phone didn't help, which it didn't, then Verizon would have to re-send the wallpaper file to the phone for it to work. I haven't tried that yet but it seems a bit absurd. I have done a forum search on this topic the other day but didn't find any solutions. Any ideas? Thanks.

But there are caveats...

When you change the extension to .mid on you comp. you will probably get an invalid file format type warning. This is because you're not actually changing the format type, just the extension.

You can then email the file to [email protected]. The phone should play the audio file when the email is opened on your phone. Mine played them automatically when i chose to read the email. You can then save it, etc.

Many mail servers do not allow mp3 files. VZWPIX or yours could be doing it. In my case it was my mail server. VZWPIX might not allow you to email mp3s to yourself because of A) size of the file and B)they want you to buy their mp3's.

So far i've emailed myself about 15 mp3's (small at 64k rate) ...

IN ORDER FOR IT TO WORK... you need to type in the name of the bad as a search in music. So lets say ur band is Jet. Searching in Music type in Jet and click the name of their CD which is a link. THEN YOU SCROLL DOWN and there are a couple sample songs that say MP3 audio. Right click the one u want and save it wherever u want. then open the folder and rename the file thesong.mid Then attach the file to an email and put some stuff in subject and the body, send it to your phone and ur home free

I just got my V710 two days ago and it seems to be fine. Feels well made. The keys are not loose. No snaping sound when I open it. It just works. And looks Dam good too.

The display is gorgeous. I just wish the Blue tooth was not crippled and the ear piece needs to be a little louder.

Overall I am happy with it.

I have taken pictures in all different lighting conditions and haven't been able to get the flash (3 LED's) to go on. Is there a manual setting I can change to test it?

I've renamed the files as midi's and have been able to send them via AOL but when I receive the message on the phone it says its a text and has been dropped...please help

Hey guys,

I am definitley warming up to this phone. I didn't like it all that much at first, but now that I am used to the text messaging changes and new button layout I am starting to like it a lot more.

Vid questions:

1. What format are these vids stored in? I thought they were in MPEG4, but Windows Media can't play them, Real can't play them, only Quicktime. Am I doing something wrong? Can they be easily converted? What is 3GPP2?

2. Does sending a video via the phone count as a pic message or do you need another service plan to send vids?

So refreshing to get some high quality people on here asking and answering technical questions now that all the yo-yos have gotten their phones and are gone.

I set the Austin Powers ring(actual ring tone, not the movie theme) for my phone, however when it rings the tone only plays once.

Shouldn't it loop with each ring?
