Motorola V710

Any mac users out ther been able to find a way to transfer files via USB since we don't have Mobile Tools?

I just noticed last night that when I plug the charger into my phone it changes from the vibrate mode that I have it on 100% of the time to 'loud' mode.
This is a pain to change it back to vibrate everytime I go to charge my phone. And God forbid I forget one time, I'll get a blasting loud phonecall at 1am Im sure.

Has anyone else noticed their phone going into 'loud' mode after plugging in the charger? is there a way to prevent this?

I searched and could not find this mentioned in the forums before, if it was mentioned, please tell me where.

Did you realize the keypad light only comes on when it's dark outside... so it saves battery power. At first... I thought i found the sensor to be under the left rubber 'bumper' near the * key. Everytime I held my finger on top of it and then hit a key (easiest to hit 'end call')... the keypad light would go on. Otherwise, it would stay off.

However, then I tried holding the phone under a bright light... and even covering the same spot... the backlight did not go on. But if I covered up the lower left area of the keypad... it went on. So it's in that area... maybe underneath somewhere.

Now if they were only smart enough to have used a similar sensor for the camera light. Oh well.

I found software to convert mpegs to 3gp. It doesn work with real media though (.rm). Does anyone know of whre I can download free software to convert .rm to either mpeg or .3pg,.3g2?

Anyone get any info about getting a free headset from moto from the registration, since the confirmation one, saying it will contact in a few weeks?

I know that ringtone questions have been beat into the ground here--but here goes anyway.....

My wife and I have just upgraded from Timeport 270c's to v710's. So far, we're both lovin the new phones. However, my wife and I would like to continue using a few of our old 270c ringtones.

Is there anyone out there capable of extracting the 270c's ringtones and e-mailing them to me?

On my old StarTAC - I used to LOVE the "SMART BUTTON" - the single side button that was wedged between the volume buttons on the side of the phone.

I used to be able to do the following things without ever removing the phone from my ear:

- Place a call (if the number were already entered)
- Answer an incoming call (with the phone already up to my ear)
- End a call (with the phone still up to my ear)
- Send the next character(s) after a "pause" (ie: for voicemail) with the phone still up to my ear
- Open the phone book for scrolling

Can any of the 5 buttons on the side of the v710 do any of these things???

I really hate having to answer calls and THEN put the phone up to my ear. I like putting the phone to my ear first - and...

anyone know any good wap sites for games, rings, and possible to download a ssh program to check email?

I just got a transflash card and everything works great except I can't figure out how to put movie clips from my computer onto my phone. Could anyone walk me through this? Do I need to convert things to a certain format? If so, how do I do this thanks. As of now any of hte clips I have transferred have not shown up on the phone.

is a transflash card the same as a copmpact flash card..and can u use the same card that goes into a digital camera?

I got a question is there any difference i mean is mp3 and midi files played differently on V710?
any difference in sound quality or anything ?

has anyone talked to motorola about the camera on these phones?

Hey, here's another thought...

As soon as I saw "Camera" in the voice command menu, I figured that you couldn't assign a voice command to things like shortcuts. But wouldn't it be nice to be able to code a shortcut with a voice command! Let me know if there is a way to do it and I'm just missing it.

Any idea if verizon/motorola offer call forwarding. I'd like to forward my cell calls to a landline when in a location where I can't get a signal.

I have read all of the forums on this subject on phonescoop and Howards, but mine would never work. Do you have to have the INTERNET package? Do you have to have express network on your plan to get you PDA to work with V710. I want the phone, but not if it can not work with the Palm. Thanks.

Hey, where's the stereo headset for the V710? Will there be a wireless version too? I have the older FM radio headset that I used with my V120c. It works as a stero FM radio with the V710, but you loose the stereo if you play an MP3 on the phone.

Just called to cancel my transflash order as my one from bluetoothheadsets.com shipped yesterday-anyway, the customer service rep tells me that they just got in 5, count 'em, 5 transflash cards.

So if you think you were one of the first 5 to order from them-good news-your order's coming in! Good grief!!! 🙄
