Motorola V710

I am not sure what to do I picked up the phone at RS tonight (called earlier and they held it for me) and I I paid $639.90 with the headset and tax. I am in the middle of a contract already.. no deals here. He did give me the rebate saying it would work it is based on activation not new users. so he says..

After reading some of the disappointments I am having some buyers remorse, I do have 30 days to return it to RS. I can turn it on if i want to but I have not yet. anyone else having buyers remorse? I am fearing this phone might not be what it was cracked up for. I did want it for bluetooth around the house. but Is it worth this much money. my vx4600 works great.. thanks for any support..ahead of time.

The phone itself is ok...the speaker phone is nice and loud, the voice activated dialing works wonderful, even the video recorder isnt that bad

The camera quality however stinks!...im prob gonna bring it back just because of that...it takes AWEFUL pictures...worse than my vx6000...plus when u set them as a wallpaper they are tiny and are not spred over the whole screen (unless u zoom it in which makes it look even more aweful)

There have been a few bugs with the contacts...nothing that restarting the phone wont fix...im hoping that MAYBE a software update might fix this....but i doubt it...too bad cuz i really wanted to like this phone...☹️

Yay! I got my phone today!! I love it so much. Apparently our local RS got a shipment today at 4pm.. and my husband was there to buy one at like 15 after 4 lol Now I think I'm going to go and play with it some more! *does the Happy Dance* No more waiting!!!!!! =o)

I was able to contact Morotola today and the answer i got for the external screen going blank is that its completely normal.

The backlight option will let you choose how long it will go before going blank. The reason for this is that it saves a lot of battery. This phone likes to eat a lot of battery and the display turning off is a way to put it on a diet.

I searched the forum for this one but, came up with nothing. What are the listening options for MP3? Speaker phone speaker? Does it have a standard headphone jack? I already have heard that it does not work with bluetooth headset. Thanks for all your help

What's up everybody I am brand new to the forum. I live in the Staten Island, NY area and I can't find any Radio Shacks near me that still have the phone in stock. Should I wait until they get it back in stock to buy it or should I just wait until my VZW store gets it in(Aug 11th??) ? Thanks

Does anyone know how to light up the moto logo (if its even possible on call receiving) in the film on hellomoto.com they show it and i think i saw it somewhere else to but don't remember ..........any ideas?

I have read that some of you are not so happy with the phone. I can agree with some complaints. The thing that made me say "wow" was the bluetooth. I got the hs820 (thats all they had) and it is great. Everthing at the touch of a button can be done. You can name dial, digit dial, etc. All with the phone in your pocket. Some of you may of known this, but I was not sure if it had this feature. It is really awesome. I would try this before giving up hope.

Just got mine from Radio Shack today and it is way to cool.
$350.00 with the headset and rebate/one year contract.
Ya I know could have saved some money by whatever but I am spoiled rotten and don't care.
Definatley going to get at least 2 extended talk batteries cause this thing is a battery Hog.
T720/730 users your chargers from your old phones will work on your V710.
Can't believe they are still using the same Sh*&$y charger but what do I care as long as they warranty them when they break ...and they will!

I would like to connect to the internet using my ipaq/bluetooth connection. Does anyone know the number to dial to make the connection?

BTW...I have been reading this forum so long, and had so much enjoyment that now that I have my v710 I will miss you all.

Can someone that has actually used both phones tell me what is better on each phone? This will help to decide which one to buy. Im needing a littl convincing..

I have my phone all set up now. After trying so many ways to to put mp3's and video's on the phone here is the easiest:

1. Buy a transflash card that will come with an SD adapter. The card is ranging anywhere from $33 from buy.com to $70 at radioshack and im sure you can purchase it for more at other retail outlets.

2. Buy a standard SD Reader. I bought a reader for 10 bucks at Staples and it came with easy to use software to transfer any type of file to the card.


Trying to find the right cables, software, drivers will drive you nuts! Its a lot easier and in some cases a lot cheaper to get the SD reader at this time. Until Motorola comes out with a wire specific software to easily connect to the V710, its just a waste of time.

Why is the camera quality so bad? I had the VX7000 and the quality there was so much better

alright here it goes, i currently am up for promotion price and upgrade, i am staying in PA for the summer but live in NY with a 516 number, the guy at radio shack has two v710's and wont sell them with the promotion price since im not in my area, and he doesnt have the ability to pull up my file and it really sucks!!! i dont understand why they wont do it, isnt verizon national and it works everywhere
