Motorola V710

does anyone know where to find a telescoping or retractable antenna for the V710? and not the factory brand kind. any help would be greatly appreciated

The v710 phone that includes the OBEX profile, is the one that has this software version 8700.01.40.8F , you have to make sure that when you purchase the phone, it has this software version, the previous version which is 8700.01.30.8F DOES NOT include the OBEX.

Does anyone know why Verizon would drop the price of this phone $150 in one day? Does this mean they are expecting the E815 to come out shortly or are they just trying to get rid of the phone?

Motorola says that all of the V710 phones sold in the United States have the Bluetooth profile of OBEX disabled.

They say it may be available in Canada.

My question is simply, is that phone available in ANY country with OBEX enabled. You would be able to pair the phone to another BT device, and then Menu, Copy to Bluetooth Device, according to their phone support.

just got my v710, what bluetooth headset is the best & what best way to get my phone #s from my timeport ??

I need help with editing my software so that I can move mp3s from my transflash to my phone. It has the new software in it. I've downloaded the motorola pst, I've downloaded the p2k seem editor. On http://www.nuclearelephant.com/papers/v710see m.html, it says "When prompted for driver information, point Windows to C:\Program Files\Motorola\PST. There will be about 5 drivers to install, and they can all be found in this directory." When I boot the pst, i'm not prompted for anything. When I go in to the P2k seem editor, it doesn't show my phone as connected.

Did I misunderstand that VZW made Bluetooth available for PDA contact transfers to V710?? Or is it only avail for headsets. Such a crock for disabling such a great feature. Always trying to make an extra $.

Hey guys, I'm new to all this, I just replaced my v710 with the newest model with the better camera, I flashed it with superdave's 8700_01.02.SD and the headset (HS820) I used with the first v710 I had doesnt even want to bond with the new phone...worked fine on the way to the store, so I know its not the headset...all I get is "No Devices Found", the LED light is a solid blue, its been fully charged and everything, I cant figure out what's wrong, can anyone help?

My phone has suddenly started having a problem connecting to my Moto HS810 BT headset. I have to do a hard power down and power back up, and it will then connect, but only for a while after coming up. I haven't changed any BT settings and changing from power on to off back to on in menu, won't help either. Anybody know anything about this one? I tried searching forum, but only seem to find issues about initial pairing. Any ideas?

I just bought an Acura MDX which has a Bluetooth handfree link. At present, they do not recommend the V710 as it somethimes fails to answer an incoming call and will occasionally not allow outgoing calls.

I use Verizon and this is the only (reasonablly) priced Bluetooth phone.

Does anyone know if the recent software version 8700_01.40.0R upgrade fixes any of the problems with Bluetooth?

Today I got my 710 and jabra 250 headset.
I have been playing with it all day.
The jabra 250 headset audio
quality is mint baby!
I paid $150 for the phone, and I send in a rebate and the phone is 99$.
The metal around the camera lens is dented. and the metal framing between the 4way circle button and the 123 keys, is slightly popping up above the 3 key. Despite the dent the camera is fine. I also set my pic rez to high.
And set the bluetooth radio to "always on"
I like this phone and I like the price, I have 14 days to decide if I want to keep it or not. Something tells me I will be keeping it. No EVDO, but thats ok, why the heck pay 10$ to watch video clips anyway. The bluetooth works, and the camera is nice. I'm warm and fuzzy all...

I've been thinking of purchasing a V710, but have been warned that either the charging port or the charging unit inserted into the port are likely to break and need repair, even without abuse. What has been your experience in this regard? Are they likely to break? If so, how expensive is the repair?

Everything works fine, but it will randomly produce a double beep every now and then. I have no waiting voicemail or text messages. I do have the 1.40 flash. I have no reminder tones set. I've gone through all the menus.

The manual is next to useless and does not describe what this double beep may indicate.

Anyone know?

I took some 15 second videos on the golf course yesterday that I saved to my Transflash Card. When I put the card in the reader, the pictures I took show up, but no videos. If I put the card back in the phone, they video's are definitly there! Is there some special software I need to view these video's on my PC? I tried Quick Time and Real Player but they can't find the videos either. I've read they are MP4's?

I'm a new v710 user, I've mostly used Samsung devices in the past. On the Samsung devices I was able to record a song clip via voice memo, pix message it to myself, and save the sound as a ringer. I can't figure this out for the v710. Is anyone able to get around this somehow so I don't have to pay $$ for audio files???

What is the the updated software version? I took my phone in awhile ago to have the flash done and I forgot to write down the software version that was in it. The version that is on it now is 8700_01.30.8f. I was doing a some checking and it looks like .40 is the updated one. I think my Verizon store just said they did it but it didn't take or they just plain didn't do it.
