Bluetooth Compatibility w/o MPT 3.0?

Can anyone with the new .40 firmware connect with bluetooth without using the Mobile Phone Tools 3.0 to transfer phone books or date books? I heard this was possible and didn't find it in previous threads. I have both an iPaq2215 and a pc with usb bluetooth. Thanks in advance.

need help to get pix out of phone into computer

I am a new user of a V710 phone with a 256 Meg Transflash card and with US Cellular service. I also have Mobile phone tools 3.0 which includes a USB connection to the phone.

So far I have not found it possible to upload pix out of the phone to the computer. The phone is set to store pix in the TF card and I can up pix out of the computer to the phone but can't take them back. I know it is possible to take the card out to a reader and handle pix that way but it would be even handier there was a way to go through the cable.

Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks. dmv333.

Can't use mp3 ringtones

I have an mp3 ringtone that I downloaded from Sony music box which is one of the programs available through Get It Now on Verizon. My phone will play the mp3 from the audio file menu. However, when I assign the mp3 as the ringtone on my phone, it does not work. When my phone rings, I get only the generic ring. What must I do to make the mp3 serve as a ringtone? I have done nothing to my phone and have added nothing since I bought it. I appreciate any detailed instructions.
Thanks.

trouble with mp3's on my V710

I've managed to transfer some ringtones to my v710 via the TF card, but they don't play correctly ... they sound like they're stuck skipping over the first fraction of a second. When I play the file from the TF card on my computer, it sounds fine.

Is there some particular format/frequency that the mp3 has to be to work on the phone? I tried making it smaller and converting it to mono, but that did not help.

thanks

What's Coming up in phones?

So now that the V710 has lost its novelty, what's coming down the road for Verizon that incorporates Bluetooth technolgy? Will there be a version of the Razr 3 that Cingular got?

F Verizon and their greedy nature.

I got the v710 back on release date (aug). I was one of the ponies that just sat around hoping that a new firmware would fix the OBEX issue and let me use MY PHONE (as motorola designed) to get MY PICTURES without the impedance of Verizon. But, we've seen, as obvious from this bs forum, that a majority of us felt screwed. Finally, I got the balls to install the PST, P2K (seem editor) and the SD seem. Now MPT works like a champ using the Bluetooth and I am happy. I don't feel like such a loser now with finger's crossed that Verizon would realize they made a boo-boo. Nonetheless, to all those out there - just update to the SD seem and use mpt to get your pics, videos and sync to your hearts desire. And F those idiots that work under the...

Verizon Screwing us with new software..??

👿

I just swapped out my V710 for a new one becasue it was broken. The new one has the most current software on it, which removed the "Move" and "Copy" features from the "Sounds" menu so that you can no longer move mp3s from the TF to the phone..!!

Verizon told me they took this feature away because no one is using "Get it Now" anymore..!!!

Is there anyway to get the old software back so that Verizon can't screw us out of this great feature..???

PLEASE HELP..!!! That's why I bought this phone..!!!

flash update? worse?

My friend got the flash update and I compared my camera to his in a somewhat dark environment (a bar). His camera was darker and blurrier than mine! His startup and shutdown screen are also now very gay. Is this update worth it??

Post Flash Issues

I flashed my phone with the Superdave version about 5 weeks ago. Seems like outgoing calls occasionally take a long time to connect. Anyone else experiencing this? Also, no longer get a low battery warning when on a call. Phone just goes dead with no warning.

Anyone else notice this?

New Firmware - Charging Issues

It seems that since I've refinished the phone with the new firmware, I occasionally seem to have problems charging the phone. It comes up with a message that says 'Unable to Charge' after 5 or so minutes on the charger. At first it seems OK -- then the message appears.

It seems as if this happens if I try to charge with the phone turned ON (which I usually do), but also when the keypad is 'LOCKED' using the MENU * combination to lock it.

I think that everything is OK when the keypad lock is NOT activated. This is a brand new thing that I'm seeing so I'm not absolutely sure about the circumstances leading up to the problem.

Has anyone else seen this problem??

V710 Bluetooth data connection & in car voice activation

Copy of recent email to Motorola - can anyone help me ??
Thank you for your E-mail - I will return the disc in the mail since i cannot get through to anyone who is prepared to help me - I am very upset with the service - I have been trying for two weeks to get my V710 upgrade - I have been told different things each time i call - Three representatives including 351062 have told me the software is available and will send me the disc - this is incorrect as i discover - then i am told it must be done at a authorized service center - so i conference them in and Motorola says they will e -mail the new V710 upgrade 1.40 directly to the service engineer at '[email protected]' then they go off the line and i hear nothing- then i get a new pe...

Should I buy this phone?

This will be my first ever camera/bluetooth phone. Basically, my first higher-end phone. My last phone was a Kyocera SE47 Slider. So yeah, this is a big step up. What I'm wondering is basically, is this phone worth it? Since I'm not exactly well-versed in phone technology/features, I'll say what I'm looking for and you can tell me if this phone will satisfy me. First:

1. Basic calling/text messaging
2. Decent camera
3. MP3 Ringtones
4. Cool-looking

(I don't even know what bluetooth is exactly, but from what I understand, this phone doesn't support the file transfer feature. Does this mean that I will have to buy this TransFlash card I've been hearing so much about?)

Thanks for any replies, and sorry if my writing is incohe...

Audio when Bluetooth connected

I just got my 710 replaced and the new one has the new firmware.
I ran into something that had me guessing for a few minutes and thought I would share it. I also wanted to ask if all headsets operate in the following way or if it is only the Jabra 250?
Now that the phone rings along with the headset, I sometimes drop the headset into my shirt pocket. I forgot it was there and had several calls today that I answered on the phone. It rang, I answered, and no one was there?? 😕
I figured out after about the 4th call that there is no audio on the phone when the headset is active, even when it is in my shirt pocket. 🤭 Actually had it happen once today when the headset was in the car and I was standing outside the car.
Makes sense once ...

V710 bluetooth link problem

Hi Everyone,

My V710 has stopped automatically bonding with my ericson bluetooth car kit when I start my car. If on the V710 I go into Settings -> Connection -> Blue tooth link ->Handsfree and select the carkit it comes up with "Seeking" and then bonds ok.

My bluetooth "icon" is not present on the screen. I cant remember if it was always on regardless of any bond or not. Can someone tell me if their bluetooth icon is always there when bluetooth power is turned on regardless of a bond?

If I turn off my bluetooth and back on it works ok for a day or two.

Thanks,

Sam
