Motorola V710

I just started using my motorola v710. The problem is I get my service through verizon and a friend gets his service through alltel. We both have the same exact phone. We are unable to send a pix message to each other through our cell phones. He doesn't have an email address, but I do. How can I send a pix message through from my email to his cell phone? Is it possible? How do I find out his domain name? A message from my phone to my email address shows up as my cell number @vzwpix.com.

When I receive a voice mail message and try to receive it by pressing call, it still asks me for my password etc even though I have it programed in the phone already. Any help on this? Thanks

I just got it, takes like 20 minutes as people mentioned already.

contacts, photos, ringers (yes .mp3 ringers) were all saved and exist on my phone still (I remember someone claiming they had a problem with that).

Anyways, start up/turn off screen is new, few new wallpapers, and the camera DOES look better. When i got into the parking garage at my mall i opened it immediately and took some pictures...and it held up ok in the low lit area.

with this new exposed technique for getting .mp3s to your phone via transflash card...I dont see any reason not to get the firmware update.

Just what type of format dose the phone support for videos and do you have to put it under any certain folder? Thanks I finally broke down and bought a card reader. Because the damn connection cable is very finniky!

I just noticed that if the contrast is up to either 3 or 4(worse) that either when on a call or accessing the menu that the main screen bleeds through. Does anyone else have this problem?

Has anyone on the east coast gotten their firmware flashed at a VZW store? I called my store today, but the techs said they did not have it yet. I'm in Eatontown, New Jersey.

They also have no idea when they will get it.

Is it, or is it not, partially disabled? I have heard conflicting reports, even from some of our corporate peope. One of my coworkers got his V710 to send a picture message, but now I have a customer for whom it's not working. He can't even get a picture from his phone to a computer using the data cable. So I'm confused as hell. Someone help!

I just called 3 different USCC stores in the Fox River Valley and none of them has the update available yet. Is this possible? That's what I was told. I woulda thought that once it was available, it would be accessible immediately by all USCC stores.

I have noticed after a few days of owning the v710 is that the battery indicator only starts losing the bars when it is close to fully being depleted. Anyone else notice this? Other phones I have had I would see the bars diminishing through the lifecycle.

Ok, Ive been reading mixed things on this board about the new firmware.

From what I hear it locks out the ability to transfer .mp3s via TF card to your phone...BUT there are other ways to get around it. How? sending a message to yourself and getting charged $.50? or do you have to get a hacked version?

In addition I also hear the new firmware is awesome and really makes a difference with a few things such as the camera and stuff. This true? Also, do all of the stores have this now or is it still only available in selected locations

I have a Moto V710 and the phone tools software. it gives me an option to use the bluetooth, but cant get it to work. is this feature disabled and if so how can i unlock it? anyhelp would be great?

I have read where some people were not able to link this phone to their bluetooth enabled vehicles. Just wondering what vehicles have people had success with and which vehicles are not compatible with this phone. I currently have a 2005 Town & County with UConnect/bluetooth and I am curious if anybody has been able to use this phone with the Town & Country?

This might not be cutting edge new, but I just ran a Live Update on my Moto Phone Tools and there are several updates out there ... looks like the latest version is now 3.22.

Not sure what new features were added.

Is there a setting I can change that will clearly indicate that the phone is on even when closed? Since the time isn't displayed on the outside without pressing a button first, and I just returned a v265 with battery problems, I'd like to know at a glance that the phone is on and operational. Thanks in advance for any helpful feedback.

Is this the latest software version?? I read alot of threads about updating -- or " flashing " the V710. Should I leave it the way it is, or ask my local dealer to update my phone? Thanks.

Just wanted everyone to know that 3gupload is now available for our v710's although not much to download as of yet, but for $9.99 of unlimited downloads for the year i couldn't resist.

Just picked myself up a V710 and so far, I really like it. Don't know if I should have waited for the release of the E815. I understand that the E815 has Vcast and more phone book memory. Are these the only differences? Or are they going to add more User memory also?

Yesterday my LG 8000 started freaking out on me. I started losing calls and then the signal meter started jumping from 4 bars down to none than searching for a signal. This happened all night long I couldn't not even use my phone. So I called Verizon from my other cell phone, the LG 3200 (and that worked fine) great phone. So anyway I decided to go with a V710 and wondered if this is a decent phone?
