Motorola V710

I have a custom built machine and do not know the exact manufacturer of my 6-in-1 card reader, but it is not recognizing my Transflash card with adapter at all? The "Access" light does not blink at all or do anything?

It seems to be a fairly basic and/or standard internal usb card reader which is suppose to do SD, MMC, SMC, MSC, and CF.... My CF works that I know of for sure b/c my digital camera uses CF but for some reason I cannot get the SD to work?? I tried looking for drivers, but something this basic couldn't be found and the one I did, didn't help. 😛 Mostly I assume Windows updates take care of drivers for this since it is a basic reader.

I'm currently using a Plantronics M2500 BT headset with my V710, and I bought the above mentioned Moto headset in case the battery die on my Plantronics BT headset since I do not have a car charger. I thought I've read somewhere here on this forum (maybe somewhere else, not sure) that I can activate voice dialing on the Moto headset by holding the ans/end button for a few seconds and it will prompt you for a command (ie, name dial or digit dial), but for the life of me I can't seem to get it to work, all it did was activate my voice recorder. It worked like a charm with the Plantronics BT headset, but I can't get the Moto headset to work in the same manner, can anyone help? Also, I'm thinking about getting another Plantronics M2500 if I can'...

Does anyone know if sending the picture message to (111)111-1111 for transferring mp3's with the new software uses picture messages? got a ****y guy on verizon right now who says it does, but how could that be if it comes back to me 2 seconds later UNABLE TO SEND...? Help!

Hello All,

I have been attempting to install the new software onto my phone, however I can't even get the program to communicate with my phone in PST.

I followed the directions to the T on how to install it on my computer and when I run the program and switch the program into flash mode, I get the following errors:

Unable to connect to the Subscriber Unit. Unable to get string descriptors.
Device Flash MSM6100 is not supported.
Chipset type 15 is not supported.
MA type 0 is not supported.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

!st post.. ☹️ i've read a lot of the vzw talk bout camera issues, but will my uscc v710 ever be able to take a good pic inside? seems like it needs true sunlight to take a clear pic, if indoors pics are almost a grey scale and fuzzy, for the price am i better off with the v265? i just want a camera phone that takes good pics indoors, dont need bluetooth/obex? ect, help

I need to know if anyone recommends this phone over the rest in the lineup of Verizon(non-PDA) phones... I dont care about price, i just want something that is easy to use, semi flashy, and has MP3 player capabilities... I have already returned this phone once due to terrible battery life, freeze ups, and dropped calls.. Please make recommendations..

Also, please let me know where i can find just the data cable for this phone. i do not want to purchase the Mobile Office Kit(its worthless).

I am VERY new to this, so please be patient. I am looking at buying a V710 off of ebay. My carrier is Cellular One. They don't offer a V710. They said that if I can find one on ebay that is a Verizon phone and unlocked, that it will probably work on their system (I just need to take it to a local Cellular One sales office and they will flash it). There is one that I am looking at on ebay that is brand new, still in box, and has never been activated (it is a Verizon phone). The seller doesn't know if it is unlocked or not. If it is still in the box and has never been activated, would it be unlocked? Or could it be locked even if it's new in box and has never been activated? Please help!!

I am a newbie so please bear with the following.

i got my v710 phone the week it was first available from VZW many months ago..I also got the bluetooth headeset..

i never had any flashing done to my phone, nor have i hacked it...but i have the following problems within the past week all of a sudden..

i can no longer do voice activation on my phone whether its teh speaker or the bluetooth..the phone locks and freezes and i am forced to take the battery in and out to reset it all...

secondly, i am having problems sending and receiving text messages taht have attachments of pics, midi files, ringotones, you name it...sadly enough..vzw as usual is dumbfounded and can't help me, and said to do a master reset, which did...

710 price drop soon ?????

I've had my 710 since August and i remember there was a hack that supposedly made the earpiece volume a little louder. I already tried the one mentioned months and months ago but I'm not satisfied with the results. Are there any different methods I can use to make it louder? I have a bluetooth headset which works fine, but as time passes by I'm really getting frustrated with the volume on this phone. I have no other complaints so if anyone can help it would be appreciated. Thanks

I have some doubts and questions. I am going to activate a new v710 from my current one. The thing is my current one has some problems with video camera, so called up amazon and they sent a new one. Here is some info.

Original phone:
#bought - feb 17, 2005
#s/w - 8700_01.30.8F
#browser - openwave 6.2.3
#current feature - allows me to set mp3s from TF card as ring tones (imp to me 🙂 )

However, I almost spent 3 hours here on phone scoop regarding the flash update and software update etc. However, could not find a solution to my problem.

They say that after upgrade they disable the TF card mp3 capability. Does anyone have any idea what will happen to my phone when i activate another v710 ? As I doubt that it wont allow...

What does it mean when i flash my phone and it gives me a failuer to erase suscriber unit error?

So my contract is coming up, and I need a new phone. I work for cingular so I know a little bit about phones, and I want a cool phone. I was set on the LG8000, but after holding it, I realized it was ugly. I thinking about the 710 (I felt it at a store), but the one thing I loved about the LG phones, I could record ring tones, by recording sound (I know the quality isn't great, but it's better than paying Verizon for them)..can this phone do it? Has anyone had the 8000 or 7000 and do they have an opinon either way.

I'm able to edit seems in 41A and upload without a problem. When it comes to the banner I'm stuck. I'm able to download and manipulate to what i want but i can't figure out uploading. I can't understand the bytes/hex when uploading. I'm using XV132 to do my seem edits. I want to put MACKS PHONE on the screen and can't figure out upload bytes. I've been reading for the past 2 weeks and nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't need links to nuclearplanet or v710blog I've already read all of them but none of the sites i've seen goes into details.
