Motorola V710

First I'd like to thank you for all the info. My question is will you know when Verizon makes the call to Motorola to start shipping the phones out? Also, does the phonebook allow you store multiple numbers per name? Thank you.

Knowing all that you two know about the external screen being crap and other minor problems with the V710. Do you still recommend getting it when it comes out? Or should we wait for the VX8000? I am able to update my phone in August and like everyone else on this forum, I have been eagerly awaiting the V710's release. I'm just wondering if i should just wait alittle longer for the VX8000.

That all of these phone manufacturers (motorola in particular) customer service people are in india, pakistan, etc? I'm sorry, but I'm not going to talk to someone who is taking jobs away from americans. At least Verizon has some american representitives that I can talk to.

Check Info tab of the v710. Before it read "1st Half 2004." and now it's been updated "July 2004." I guess now it 3 weeks Max?????????? 😛

Has anyone here with access checked it? Is the Treo also listed? My buddy in Bayonne says he has heard the 710 is on there now but hasnt checked it for himself.

is there a bluethooth headset that cover both ears preferablly for mp3s

Unfortunately, verizon has limited sms coverage around the world. I'm trying to use sms and send it via online to eastern europe.
Can anyone help me in finding a site(s) where i can do so? I've tried searching for it, but i wasn't getting anywhere...Any inputs will be greatly appreciated.

The LG VX7000 was released on July 1st(nationwide) and that was this past friday....hmmmm....

810 has said july (still does) for awhile and that phone may not even b released but who knows what phone scoop knows

We all believe that the phone is not out yet because of some programming problems, bugs, etc.. However, I personally think that Verizon is giving LG the spotlight and to hell with motorola. LG currently seems to have verizon's undevided attention. Picture all those execs at verizon laughing at us because they are holding the v710 in their hands while we wait for a "better product". Maybe this has been said before, but I just want to express my anger and frustration, which is really what this whole forum has become. As the operator of the website you changed the planned availability to July 2004, this is killing me. I only can speculate why, but I bet you are not allowed to say.

On the Info tab it says JULY 2004 for planned availability. Did it aways say that?

Why don't we all just keep sending e-mails to VZW and Motorola Executives until they get the message and release the V710 or at least give us the date of release. Who's got the addresses.

Look around while you're there. It's like deja vu all over again!

I called my local VZW-sponsored cell phone store (Phones 4 You - the phone number is 1-201-405-2626) on July 6th and asked if they had gotten the V710 in their store, or if it would be coming soon. The guy said that the phone would be out in the 2nd or 3rd full week of July.

Today, I e-mailed Motorola and below, in italics, is a copy of their response. Hopefully, this will give some solid perspective of when the phone is going to be released through Verizon (looking to be sometime this month..hopefully in a week or a few weeks)

Ok...first off...I'd like to point out that the phone is not coming out in August but in July...seriously...ytf would the phone come out in August? The V710 is ready to go except for a few minor bumps in the road...

Release Dates:

7/10/04: Yeah it sounds cool but I doubt it...there haven't been very many reports on VZW stores receiving shippments of the phone already...maybe VZW stores will RECEIVE shipments of the phone on this day...I dunno...opinions.

7/13/04: A little more likely but still not sure...I've heard some talk about the phone being available before the 14th...and the 13th goes with the whole Tuesday thing that I've heard about...

20th-end of July: My last resort...but it's gonna be here in July...opinions on al...

I know everyone is frustrated about getting the V710 (myself included) and some have considered changing providers. However, in the new issue of Consumer Reports, which I received today, there is a little story (p.9) about cell phone complaints. The article rates providers based on complaint data obtained from the FCC. It rates AT&T the worst in general and on billing and service and VERIZON the best! (No, I do not work for Verizon nor do I have any affiliation with them). It concludes by saying "If you're considering a change of wireless carrier, you may want to look first to Verizon or Nextel. They not only had the lowest number of complaints per customer among national carriers but also had the fewest complaints about service quality...

As you probobly know, you can record your own ringtone on the lg 7000. Does anyone know if the v710 has this capabilty???

Sorry, I wish I could tell you all what is happening with this phone at this point. I posted the last that I heard which was that it was still slated for tomorrow. However, my postings have resulted in much more trouble than I had thought ever possible. I was fired for violation of the nondisclosure agreement. I was told that if I post any more confidential information on this site I can be sued. I will still be here to talk about general issues, and I will be here tomorrow morning for everyone to attack me if the phone does not come out (hell, it's not like I have to go to work).
