Motorola V710

Ok please don't flame me for startin this up, cause i'm sure this may stir up some conversation, but when i think about it, Now that the date has been changed to August 1, do u think that now they could release the phone on July 10th, Hence the name V710, 7/10/04, it could see verizon doing somethin like this now, i mean i hope it comes out on the 1st(i dunno where that rumor came from) or the more logical july 6th, but when u think about it, it can't possibly come out any later then July 10, i think we should all rest assure that this phone should be out in a week or so.

IMO the contest date change means very VERY little when compared to the actual phone release date... while WE all would/will register ASAP for the contest, not everyone who gets it will register immediately nor necessarily be interested in registering at all. Some folks don't like to enter personal information more than they have to, etc. I think the August 1 deadline extension is really to make sure people don't complain about not having enough time to enter the contest.

So maybe I'm wrong, but I could've sworn that the peeps on this forum said that verizons info manager updated on the 28th or 29th. Basically saying if the v710 would be available in the next week or two it would be on verizons info manager. Maybe I have the name wrong of what it's called, but if anyone who works at verizon could check that and see if the 710 is coming out within a week or so, rather than next millenium, that would be great! 😡 👿 I know i either remember reading something about the infomanager or maybe that all the price tags or something ended on the 28th...? If anyone knows anything about this (especially verizon workers), please respond. 🙂

The 710 registration givaway now lists the contest ending date as 8/1/04 -- No longer 7/10/04.

OH MY GOD!!! This means that the phone release has been CANCELLED!!! It won't come out till December! It's going to have NO BLUETOOTH! It's going to have the T-Flash slot filled with moldy cheese so you won't be able to use it!!! The battery will only last for one hour, or three photos!!!

went to my local verizon store and as i was waiting to be helped one of the customer service ppl walked by me with the 7000 on his hip.... i stopped him and he said yes the 7000 is coming out on july 1st but the 710 will be released at least a week to 2 after it.... sorry guys for all the liars in the forum once again...

Went to my local Verizon store on Sat and had the 7000 for sale! Not interested as I'm holding out for the 710.

I must agree... the release date im hoping is in the near near future but none of us can be sure. Im gonna wait for this instead of the 7000. I have an eery feeling this is gonna be a really good phone. Im just cool with waiting for it to come out as long as it comes out soon 🙂

I tend to agree with LieBuster. More importantly, I do not think that there is anyone at Verizon Wireless who knows when the V710 is going to be released. Actually, I would be willing to bet a penny with anyone about that. Also, it looks as if the V710 is turning very quickly into another V600. If I am not mistaken, the V600 release date was changed at least two times. Of course, I do not know why any of us are surprised or mad at Verizon Wireless for their poor handling of the V710 and its release. Verizon Wireless has never been dependable with regard to release dates whether those release dates were for services or cell phones. But, at least now we know for sure that the V710 is not coming out any time soon. As much as that sucks,...

Does anyone know when the V710 will be released?

I've been hearing some big knocks against this phone...can somebody verify if they are true or not?

photos taken with the v710 are subpar, battery life sucks, external screen is bad, mp3 playback/ringers don't work, and that this won't be a truly bluetooth phone...?

if these are mostly true, then I think I'll just wait for the VX-8000. I'm not gonna be using bluetooth that much anyways.

Listen, stop going to corporate VZW stores and asking about the 710. There lying to you, its a joke!!! We really don't know anything till about 3 days before any phones release. We keep telling people that but they won't listen. The same people keep asking, so we have a little fun with them and just BS them and laugh when you leave all happy. 🤣 It might sound like a _ick thing to do but if you keep asking the same question over and over and over and over and get the same answer everytime, then you deserve a little messing with. Your only wasting people's valuable time over what essential boils down to as an adult toy.

I don't know why I even bother posting this here when I was criticized so intensely last time, but here's what I got yesterday. I was told that Friendly User Testing has been completed and that the phone has passed. VZW is now attempting to get everything together for a July 1 concurrent release with the VX-7000. However, the issue does not involve the phone at all, it is the advertising. It is unknown if they will be able to put all of the advertising together to make the July 1 date. If not it will be July 6. Have fun all.

I just saw this on HowardForums, the free Motorola Bluetooth accessory giveaway for the V710 now expires on August 1st (or while the first 710 offer packages last). Check for yourself.

anyone know if ecko has said anything about being able to change the themes on his phone or any progress on transfering pics and other data from comp to 710??? 😳 just a couple days away til we have one as well 😁 🙂 🤣 😎 🙄 😉
