Motorola V710
HOW LONG VOICE MEMO
Two Cell Phones;One Telephone Number
The reason for my inquiry is that I currently own the v710 and Blackberry (BB) 7750 from Verizon Wireless (VW). I recognize that the BB has telephone capabilities, but until VW adopts the new BB design (7100 Series), I'm hesitant to use the BB as my primary phone.
What I AM interested in doing is having the ability to send/receive txt messages and take an occasional phone call on the BB when away from the v710 all from the same telephone number/plan.
I don't see why this should be any different than the typical home phone set-up (i.e. multiple home phones, one number). Of course with the exception of the VW "Greed" factor!
Any thoughts...

New / FRU / or refurbished
It probably doesn't matter to most but to some it does - How can you tell if you have a refurbished or New replacement phone?
I have read to look at the labels and see if they have been replaced. Look at the Lifetime call timer is another suggestion.
I just got a "replacement" 710 today. It looks like the labels under the battery have been covered over but then the lifetime call timer was at only 2 minutes.
Does the lifetime call timer ever get reset on a refurb? What are the things to look for to see if you have a new or a refurbished FRU.
Pease don’t tell me vCast does not work with this phone?

Help. I'm thinking of buying a V710
I'm trying to get one within the next week. so help if you can.
So what can you do with bluetooth....
If I had a bluetooth adaptor on my computer and I made it recognize my phone, what can I do (without flashing the memory with this new version) and what should I be able to do but is blocked by verizon??? Also using the bluetooth adaptor would I be able to flash the phone etc just like using the cable?
TransFlash card problems
Trouble moving files
I have no trouble making/cutting mp3s on the computer and transferring them into the phone. I've transferred them as mp3s and as mids and can listen to them easily. There is no option to set them as a ringtone however in either of the formats and there is no option to move it to the phone memory; unless I'm not seeing it. Anyone able to help?
This is totally driving me nuts.
Is it just me or did motorola never come out with the dual charger for V710 and HS810??
MPT will not recognize my v710

v710: if there is "No official flash update"...
Havent posted here in awhile.
I was curious, with this e815 coming out in a few months (or whenever) and it being the supposed upgrade to the v710...will there be any chance that we can trade our v710s in for e815...because of possible false advertisement reasons? Im happy with my v710 because I dont use it much more than a phone, camera, video camera...but for those that are using bluetooth, they keep saying its crippled.
Now what I am saying is, if there is no official flash update, and alot of customers are disgruntled due to the lack of features it was advertised to have...will we be able to trade this in for the e815 when it comes out??
just a thought, curious to hear others opinions

Downloading and converting mp3's to ring tones, how?
I first tried renaming the Mp3 to .mid then .midi, and leaving it at .mp3, and mailing it to myphone#@vzwpix.com to receive the file on my phone, and each time the phone says file type not recognized. The audio clip I have been trying to use has been renamed to less than 15 characters, and is close to 30 seconds long with no fading effects. I have a TF but no adapter currently available to hook up to my cpu, but I have heard you should still be able to tranfer the Mp3 to my phone, so I have been using hotmail to send the file to my phone.
Any ideas?
Verizon Class Action in Wall Street Journal
The heat is really turning up on Verizon now. The six column article, among other things says:
"Ms. Raney of Verizon Wireless notes that other carriers sell Bluetooth phones that offer only some of the Bluetooth features. But Cingular, the largest U.S. wireless carrier, accepts its phones with the full Bluetooth function the phone makers intended."
Class Action Arbitration Filed in New York
An arbitration usually gets relief much faster than a lawsuit. The firm is seeking, among other things, damages, updates to V710 phones sold to date for full Bluetooth capabilities, and to stop Verizon from selling V710s with disabled Bluetooth.
