Name dial "Voice Mail" is not dialing
Another way is to go into your contacts and select Voicemail. This number can be programmed in however you like, for example you can program it to automatically enter your password for you. This one has the speed dial entry set to 1 so when you press and hold the 1 button, it will dial this entry, password and everything.
The problem I am running into is that this phonebook entry called "Voicemail" will not dial using name dial. I thought it might have to do with a conflict of the built-in command "Voicemail" ...

Phone Crashes!!!!!!!!!!
I really wish if the phone manufactures are going to make phones with all this stuff on them that makes them crash... I wish they could make them where when the phone does crash it would at least still be able to receive a phone call. Sort of a safe-mode... so to speak.(I have missed a few due to the crashing and me not knowing about it because the phone was lying on the table or was in my pocket!!!!!!!)
File Transfer Disabled in Bluetooth
The Palm just barfs and gives no reason but the PC actually has to search for the device first and even though I put the V710 into "Find Me" mode, the PC never does.
So this would explain why the Phone Tools doesn't work since it does use the file transfer protocol to get the address book over to the phone.
What a bummer. I can't believe Moto disabled this! One of the most useful features of BT and the kill it! I'm totally ticked.
And of course my service call, routed to India, will get no answer other then, "That...

Transfering pics to phone - I'm confused
I was under the impression that if I purchased a card reader I would be able to take photos w/ my digital camera then pick and choose which ones I want to put on my phone. In addtion to using the USB cable to transer the photos. Is this correct? Or is there software that I have to purchase?
I have not purchased the 710 as of yet, I'm waiting for my Nextel contract to expire (8 days woo hoo!).
I am semi-literate when it comes to figuring out gadgets, but I just want to make sure that this is not ...

New to the V710...could use some help
To begin with I just purchased the V710 a few days ago and I have a couple questions that I could use your expertise on.
I am new to the get it now feature and ringtones and wall papers, my old phone SCHa310 didnt have any of that stuff so this is a whole new world for me.
I dont have a flash card or a card reader... what do they do, where can I pick one up, and how much are they? EBAY or verizon store ??
How do I get mp3's to my phone? It didnt come with a USB port and I know it says mp3 player, which was one of the main reasons for purchasing the phone.
Is there a way to get rid of all the preprogrammed pictures already in the phon...

Verizon's position on broken V710 Bluetooth
"We appreciate your interest in the incorporation of Bluetooth Technology with Verizon Wireless services. This is correct we have crippled some of the Bluetooth functions to insure the security of America's best, most reliable wireless network so this network is not destroyed or crippled by a internet virus that can be transferred via Bluetooth. There is a 15 day no questions asked return period if you wish to switch phones or return to old phone."
For starters, their English is a bit lumpy. (Maybe they're in Bombay!) 🤣
Second, I totally do not believe that horse-doodoo about viruses via Blueto...

Bluetooth Security Question
Let's face it, the wireless networks in most neighborhoods are vulnerable as all heck. There are theives & hackers driving around with WI-FI laptops, downloading financial data from home networks.
Bluetooth uses the same frequency band (2.4 GHz) as most home 802.11b wireless networks. How is BT different, that it raises an alarming concern with Verizon now and not with the other carriers?
Personally, I'm much more concerned about the likelihood of what can already happen to my home LAN than the likelihood that someone will follow my phone around within 30 feet, hack in without the passkey and steal my phone book or something.
