Motorola V710

I recently purchased the mobile phone tools 2.0, upgraded the software to version 3.11 through BVRP (softaware provider) but the PC still does not recognize my phone. Does anyone know the trick to getting mobile phone tools to recognize the V710? FYI - I am using the usb connection from the V710 to PC.

I know many people are very upset with v710 and its bluetooth issues (including me)...but set that aside, and then what to you think of the phone for clarity and reception?????

I just spoke with 2 Verizon Wireless stores and the 800 number. They have all confirmed that the v710 is available for purchase through the 800 sales number but not yet in stock at retail stores.

If you take pics on your transflash card or if get memory card, can you the ntake it out and go to like walmart and put your card in one of those machines and get the pics printed out,
does anyone know

The specs. say that the 710 supports both the headset and handsfree bt profiles.
I just got a Jabra 250 and it works great as a headset but does not seem to work on the handsfree profile. ie. I cannot use it to dial last number, call waiting, etc. I should be able to do these by holding in the button for a long count and getting two short beeps. No joy. Is there a trick on how to do this or is it possible?

I've heard a number of complaints from people that I'm talking to while using the HS810 headset. I can hear them just fine, voice commands are fine, but they hear their voice echo on the other end. It doesn't happen when I'm not using the headset.
Any suggestions???

I've read the dozens of threads here about the V710 camera and everything said to date is correct and continues to be a frustration. I have been through 3 V710's now for a variety of reasons, primarily the camera alignment. However, during my last time-wasting visit to the Verizon store I had plenty of time to play with the Audiovox 9900, particularly its camera. The 9900 camera is significantly better than the V710 in all ways - brighter, sharper, clearer, purer color and faster. In addition, the 9900's internal screen is even brighter and sharper. I took 2 nearly identical pics using the 9900 and V710 at the store and emailed both to myself. No question, the 9900 pic was far superior.

So, for me the issue is no longer just about the 710...

By now I bet everybody have visit websites to see for the cheapest accessories like face plates, full housing, headsets, etc. I don't know if prices are going to go down (Transflash SD 128mb- I paid$23 + 10 S&H!) so far half.com and daydeal.com are the cheap ones to me, unless you guys find the cheapest one, if you do please let me know---I am interested in face plates and housing.

As far wallpaper, screensavers, ring tones, games, etc. Everybody knows Verizon have the get it now (which uses your minutes and if the app is not in Demo mode u will not be able to actually preview the tones- that sucks), but there is a website that can help check it out, http://www.cellularfactory.com --what do u guys think?,(but is expensive though), if you ...

The other day my external caller id didnt come on when someone called. Its been doing that randomly since then. Has anyone else had this? Also on the external id when someone called me, instead of "John Calling" it said "John John John" all the way acress the screen. Reminded me of my old t720. Is anyone else having these glicthes?

Brand new V710; don't have any pics, videos, music stored except that which came with the phone, have only entered 3 contacts w/o pic ID. Can anyone verify memory usage straight out of the box??

Checked my son's V400, he's got about 2% used with pics stored.

This just doesn't seem right.

By the way, now I know what everyone's been talking about with the pic quality. His V400 takes MUCH better pics than my V710!!!!

I've noticed a lot of people having problems transferring files from their TF cards to their PC or phone so I thought I'd share some info. This may have been discussed in earlier threads so forgive me if I'm duplicating effort.
Today's flash memory devices are indeed hot swappable, meaning they can be inserted & removed from your PC without having to power down/up. Before doing this you MUST stop the socket service to that device. You do this by clicking on the icon in your task bar & specifying that that device be stopped, at which time you get a message that it's safe to remove the card. ☹️ One of the reasons I bought this phone was because of the many features and technology it has, yet the only thing I can't do is save pictures. If you have a Verizon provider u will know that u get a site in which u could store or send pics, so thats what I did I sent a pic to my phone, (I think that was the cause) and since then I wasn't able to store pics. I can take pics but I can't store them, it doesn't give me the chance (.5-1 sec), then it takes me back to the main menu or the camera view. I called Verizon Tech support but they weren't able to fix it (they mentioned something about a switch-?-but the switch is fine), they asked me to take it to a Verizon store, which is very far from where I live. I think I'm gonna sell this phone...its not worth all the trouble...with the money I get hopefully I can get enough to get the s710a which looks awesome...

As I understand from my local VZW dealer, there was supposed to be some sort of update made to the v710 lately.

I purchased one over a month ago, but returned it because bluetooth capability was not up to par with my Lexus (no signal strength meter, no imcoming audible ring, and no way to download the phonebook into the lexus).

Can anyone here tell me if these issues have been resolved at all??

I relly liked the phone, but bought it for bluetooth to work with the lexus more than anything else.

I keep receiving duplicate text messages every few minutes. Sometimes 50 or more duplicate messages a day. What? Anyone having this problem or know of a solution? I've talked to tech support at verizon numerous times and they are stumped. Thanks.

Is there a way to keep the outside display on. It's a pain to click a button for the time, missed calls, etc.

I've heard it uses the same light as the internal display, so this would probably run the battery down.
