What happened to sending ring tones?

Sorry I haven't posted anything since the radio shack buying the V710 days, but here it goes I haven't sent myself ring tones since I got the phone, now it won't let me do it? Did Verizon catch on and block this? I have always used Ringtone Ripper then made a rintones file (renamed the file to mid) and then right click to send mail. Now it won't... Help...

transflash SD capacity using adapter

I'm sure this has been discussed before but I didn't see it in the forums.

Using the adapter for the transflash to use a SD card in the v710, what is the maximum capacity SD card that can be used?

Thanks everyone,

Ohhhhhhhh this is rich... Aparently your AIM password can't contain a zero on the v710..

Go try it... try sticking a zero in the password field... Won't work... Ohhhhhhhhh I'm gonna have fun with hardware support on my dinner break. 🙂 Bastards. 🙂

Can you use the iTunes prog on files that are already in MP3?

When I try this, the only option I get is to convert file to AAC. I don't see a way to truncate the song while it is still in MP3, and when I try it converting to AAC and then renaming, it isn't recognized as a ringtone by the phone.

All my potential ringtones are already in MP3 so how can I shorten them up?

vx7000 vs. v710

I know these phones have been compared 1000 times over but none have been suited to my needs that is why I am starting a new thread. I have a vx7000 and love it but 2 of the features I am looking for in the ultimate phone are speakerphone and bluetooth. I will use the camera periodically so thats not that big of a deal. I want a bluetooth headset and I do business calls from which I would use the speakerphone. Im not looking to use the bluetooth for anything else but the headset and maybe a bluetooth car adapter. Is the bluetooth really that crippled? Ive seen numerous posts about it but none too many on syncing the phone with the headset. Is the speakerphone worth it? I could use any and all input. Oh, and if someone convinces me then I may...

Quick Question for Sponge

just got off the phone with Motorola tech support and they tell me that you cannot transfer pictures from phone to PC via Transflash. Is this true!?! They tell me I need to purchase a USB cable with a program called Mobile phone Tools 2.0. However, I am sceptical about this given the fact that Verizon seems to have disabled most of the TF functionality (not to mention nearly all of the BlueTooth functionality!). Any help in determining the best way to transfer pix (other than via email) would be much appreciated!

I am about to go to Verizon tonight to pick up a phone. Should I get this one? Is there a better phone coming out in the *near* future?

Bluetooth

After speaking with HelloMoto support, because Verizon's support sucks and couldn't help me with my Bluetooth issue, the V710 will not support data transfers to other devices such as Pocket PC's and Palms. Has anyone been able to get this to work? According to Motorola there will be a software release in the next 6 months that will fix this particular functionality.

I can get the v710 to function with my wireless headset and that is all.

translucent screen when closed

I've heard a rumor that a FW upgrade will include the ability to make the exterior screen translucent with time/date. I'm hoping this is the case as my battery died overnight and I didn't realize it until I opened the cell to make a call the next day...

Has anyone heard anything to this affect?

Nuclearelephant V710 hack $ reward for Bluetooth, etc.

Given all of the latest frustration in this forum with Verizon's flippant and contrray attitude in supporting the V710 Bluetooth and other features, I thought it relevant to repost this link:

http://www.nuclearelephant.com/papers/v710hackers.html »

The current pot is at $2,103.24 for anyone that can hack the phone to provide all of the "locked out" features such as OBEX Bluetooth, speakerphone with a closed flip, change LCD front backgrounds, color schemes, etc. Hopefully it will grow, and if we keep talking about it, the word will continue to resound at Verizon so they will understand in no uncertain terms that they've alienated their customer base.
