Can anyone tell me if there is a date outage in zip code 24501? I havent been able to get on the internet or send/receive mms messages for the past couple of days. Im on the phone with a rep now but shes had me on hold for over 5 minutes now while shes "speaking with the tech." I figured I could probably get a faster response here.

How is the camera? is it good/bad? Does it work ok in low light/bright light?

how do the pictures look on the computer?

can you change the lighting settings or picture resolution?

I've set up aol email on this phone with the following settings:

AOL Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) - imap.aol.com (port 143)
AOL Outgoing Mail Server - smtp.aol.com



The phone connects to the server...says downloading email...then ALWAYS says "no new messages" even when I know there is new mail.


What do i do??

Okay, so prior to trying it out, EDGE sounded like creme de la creme to me.

But since having my S710a, and tethering it to my PowerBook, EDGE doesn't seem like all that. I know for 100% that I'm getting an EDGE signal, but pages still take forever to load like with GPRS. Download speeds around no more than 3.5 kbps, the most I've seen 5.9 kbps and that lasted less than the time I had to be joyous about it.

What's so special about EDGE, in all reality? Am I doing something wrong? What's up with this?

I am new to TA so maybe I'm doing something wrong. First, when I use this phone to view a moblog and I "click" on an image to view comments or make one the phones screen fades, the screen goes white and the phone powers itself off, then back on. No damage done, but its annoying.

Second, Cingular just started adding banners and additional info to multimedia messages sent to email addresses. So now when I take a picture on my phone and send it to my TA email address it has all this other junk on the entry. It causes the post to be formatted really badly. Check out my most recent post and you will see what I mean. I think that if I knew the first thing about html programming I could fix it, but i don't. Any ideas?

Hey guys. I just got my s710a yesterday. Like everything about the phone so far. I was just wonderng if the main screen is suppose to have 8 or 9 icons. I'm with Cingular right now as much as I really don't want to, just for the phone 😎 . Other then that, does anybody know what type of charges do you get for POP3 mail? Would that count as MEdia Net or SMS? The only downside I noticed so far from the phone is that the conversation speaker including the speaker phone is just a little to low for me. I guess I'm so use to my loud Sanyo VM4500 🙂 . When trying to send an MMS, the OS is really really slow, I guess this is normal for everybody? I was told that my area has EDGE, but not throughout. I really don't notice any form of high...

whats a good program to use to converter 3gp

Does anyone know of a good FREE POP3 based account that will work on the s710? Since I cant get gmail to work Im just going to set up a pop3 and have gmail forward all incoming mail to that address. So if anyone has any info for me lemme know. Thanks!

I have been debating on whether or not to get this phone, however, the main function I want it to have other than being able to have good signal, and send/receive calls well, is the address/calendar.

Now I currently use the Nokia 6820 and it sucks for syncing. The names don’t have separate fields for first and last, and it messes the hole order up, along with the calendar the only thing I really like is I put there birth date in and it tells me how old they are going to be at that time.

I really am debating which I want to go to, The MPX220 that runs windows, or go to something else... Please be as detailed as possible, or if you could tell me a phone that it resembles and I would be extremely grateful.

Hey everyone, I saw something today that gave me an idea, but i'm not saavy enough with this stuff to figure it out myself. There's a new version of NESCafe (a NES Emulator) out thats java...I'm wondering if there's some way to mess with the source code to set it up to work on an s710, because that would be really tight. If not, maybe download some of the applets from www.everyvideogame.com, because those are all in java as well. I'm gonna try to play with it a little bit today, but my java skills are pretty lacking. Just thought someone a little more knowledgable who likes NES might want to check it out to. Let me know what you guys think.

Is anyone synchronizing their Notes address book with this phone? I can't find a product that will do it.

I've had this phone over two weeks and have used my bluetooth headset since the first day. Today, when I tried to connect it I got a password mismatched message. The headset still connects fine to my V551 and the s710 recognizes it, I just cant use it. Is anyone else having problems like this or have any suggestions? Thanks

Just got my S710a today via Cingular - can someone tell me what a fully charged battery indicator is supposed to look like on the screen?

After 8 hours all I see is the green battery icon with a white line through it - is this right or should the icon be colored solid green? Should there be a progress indicator as the charging progresses?

Also, my red charge light on the side of the phone only blinks when I initially plug-in the charger - but the manual says it should blink while charging (so I assume it should blink throughout the charge time)? Is this right?

The phone is working when unplugged, but I just can't tell what things are supposed to look like, as what I'm seeing and what the manual says are two different things 🙄 ...

I have some cheap-o generic USB bluetooth adaptor which works great with my Moto V551, Nokia 6820 &6620, but won't even begin to look at my s710a (although I can use the phone as a remote still) using the SE software. I want to be able to sync my contacts and load songs via bluetooth but I can't get it to work. I'm beginning to think it's my crappy adaptor. I'm using XP Pro SP2. Unless anyone has some troubleshooting recommendations, which adaptors are working for you? Thanks all!
