Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

I am having problems with the alarm on the phone. Once the alarm is set, if I receive a text message and don't open the phone to read it the alarm will not go off. The alarm will not turn on until I check the text message. I've contacted both Motorola and Verizon and neither seem to know what to do. I rely on my alarm and unless this problem is fixed I am going to have to look for a different model.

so what exactly does the 815 allow you to do via bluetooth i know that there are some discrepancies with it thanks in advance for the help

What is the ideal pic size/resolution to upload pics at to use as wallpaper or pictureIDs? I am trying to make sure I maximize the resolution of the screen without uploading too big of a file and hogging all the memory.
PS-I've been using funformobile.com to upload them.

Question for everyone. When ever I use my camera on and I set it to night. The display starts to flicker and display shows some grinds on it. It’s a really start issue but I am not sure if it’s a problem or not. Also for some reason a lot of my photos aren’t that clear. I love this phone and just want to see if anyone else has seen this issue????

I got this phone a few days ago as a birthday prezzie from my parents. I absolutely love it.
Except...I tried to get some mp3s on it by sending the files through the [email protected], but it won't download. (One at a time and there were only three I -really- wanted on there right now. Little pick me up songs ^_^.)
It'll sit there a few minutes and then give me this error message saying that it can't download the message and to try again later.

I took the phone into the store where it was bought and the guys at the counter sent me to customer service. This guy just tries once to get it to download and then tells me that Verizon has blocked all files but images.

Hey, does anyone know if this phone has Aol Instant Messenger (AIM)????

Can you transfer a small clip from a dvd (movie, tv show etc) to this phone. If so, how is it done (I assume its with the trans card)? How do shorten the clip to fit?

what is the maximum size limit of a file to be an mp3 ringtone...I am going to use the trick where you send it in a message to a bogus # and than save it to your phones memory...thanks for your help...(BTW, i read on v710.org that the maximum size was 220kb but i dont know if its different for the E815...) thanks again

just wondering if this is normal. on my E815 the 1X next to the signal strength bars changes like once every minute to a red box that says EV for a few seconds and then it changes back to 1X. even when i'm at home and the phone is just sitting on the table it still does it. i've watched it. so it can't be a roaming thing or anything. does everyone have this? what does it mean? what's EV?

I have heard in howardforums that there my be a possible second software upgrade for the V710 in order to make it more like the E815.

Examples:
Improved camera quality.
Customizable outer display.
Speakerphone with flip closed.


Any inside information Verizon employees have would be very helpful and much appreciated to all V710 owners.

I have been able to sync my E815 using Bluetooth on my Macintosh. Only thing is, I must use Entourage as my scheduling tool, so I have to import my schedule into iCal before syncing. Ok.

But when I do, it duplicates the entries and I have to delete the previous set or I'll have a mess in my phone.

Anyone seen this or know how to keep iCal from importing duplicate entries?

I'm going to put this in Apple's tech forum, but I thought I'd try here, too.

Anyone know how to get the video's you take from your phone to play on your computer ? I have transferred them via the trans-flash card , but they won't play .

How will e815 owners be informed when there are firmware updates available? Will it be from Motorola or Verizon? And what will the update process be? Online downloads or going to Verizon store? Before I got this phone, I never knew there were firmware updates. First time was when Verizon flashed my phone to put V Cast on it. Thanks.

I'm considering getting the e815 but I am not in an area that is supported by Verizon's EVDO notr do I have a need for broadband on my cellphone at this time. My question: is the e815 still the right phone to pick. I like all the other features but want to know if it is overkill if I dont use teh EVDO capability. thanks.

I'm trying to send myself a ringtone, it's attached in a .midi format. I send it to XXXXXXXXXX @ vzwpix.com--- for some reason it's not getting the phone.

can anyone tell me how to change the default wap gateway address on the e815 so I can use the free webtunnel. I have the new address to insert but need access codes for the e815 and its location.

I'm just curious, if Verizon disabled the MP3 player so they could charge us for songs when MOD comes out, why didn't they also disable the MP3 player on the 815? Same company, same customers, same profit coming in???????????

Just a note, don't think I'm praising the 815 by asking this, just curious about this. I had an 815 first and switched for and 8100, which I LOVE by the way.
