Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

sorry about this i posted this in the wrong area..

can someone please help me.... my call drop refuses to work and i have it set to on..the service in my house is very spastic and i drop a lot of calls but it never gives me the "call drop tone"...can someone help...

😁 Hello pupils...got the phone.....AWESOME!!!
Everything about the phone is way better, in the sense that the first thing that I noticed was that the keypad is bigger and the backlight is Blue now--yeah!

The BLUETOOTH works a little better, still cannot use with the laptop. So what, the screen is more vibrant and the speech recongnition is way better and simplified. The phone is given a bigger battery, do not worry the phone is still the same size as the v710, and it is all gray and finished aluminum on the exterior. The best thing is that you can finally change the front LCD screens' wallpaper!
This is it so far, I have been too busy to really play with the phone much, but that is it so far.

Can anybody help with this problem which has plagued me for what seems to be an eternity?!?

I can't get MPT to recognize my e815 at all. All I'm trying to do is use the OEM data cable to transfer things like ringtones, games, etc. Here's the rundown:
1. I have PST and SM Modified P2K running just fine.
2. I have installed what I believe to be are the newest drivers for the phone.
3. I believe it's a Com Port problem, but I don't know how to change it. I don't even know how to bring up the menu to figure out what's on what Com Port.
4. I'm running XP (SP2), PST 7.1.1., and MPT 3.25
5. I've done all the major SEEM edits
6. I've changed the cable to different ports, and I do have USB 2.0.
7. I do have the multimedia icon dis...

does anyone have information as to whether the speakerphone echo can actually be repaired with a firmware update?

Has anyone had success exchanging the phone for another and the speakerphone echo was eliminated or significantly reduced in frequency?

ok, i just bought the e815. i've read about how to download the MP3's but what I dont understand is how to email them to my phone. Do I have to set up an email account? Whats the deal?

mp3's, bluetooth, camera, video camera, all that new stuff. a cell phone nowdays is hardly used for talking to people cellullary, but more for its other features. haha. everyone buys a cell phone to talk to people, and that is the only thing that functions properly

So I have tried multiple times to send mp3 e-mails under 30 seconds from www.funformobile.com . The mp3s come through to my phone and I am able to apply as ringtone. Unfortunately it doesn't change my ringtone (it goes back to the default ringtone). I have tried saving it as a .mid file instead of .mp3 and again, I receive the file to my phone, apply as ringtone but again I get a normal ringtone for incoming calls. I currently have the free vcast enabled. Any ideas of what else I can try? I think I've tried every option on this forum.

hey - I have the LG VX 8100. I was just wondering if people have figured out how to get mp3's and mpeg videos to play on the phone. Also, are there any major issues with the phone's functions? One of my friends is trying to decide which one to get.

Anyone Tried a Different Battery to See If Vibrate Improves?

Normally the Motorola has the 4 icons on the main screen, each corresponding to left right up and down. I was wondering if there is a way that you can hide them or make them invisible so that they don't cover up the background.

So, I think I'd like to upgrade to the E815. I'm already a Verizon Wireless customer. (I'm half-way through my 2 year contract). Soooooo...what's the cheapest way to get this phone? Verizon store? Verizon online? Amazon? Bestbuy/compusa? Ebay?

What has everyon paid for their trusty E815?

I don't know what happened. It was fine this morning. I took it with me to go work out at the gym, and when I left the gym, I noticed it was not on. I can't turn it back on. I tried popping the battery out a couple of times and the "Hello Moto" splash screen flickered when I popped it back in but then it goes dead.

I'm going to call Moto customer support later on and maybe even try to get this resolved at the local Verizon retail store during lunch if customer support is not helpful.

Why does alarm keep going on daily EVEN when it is disabled? What am I missing?

When I had my other E815 (before returning it, due to defects) I was able to hit the left key to open up the browser, it would say "connecting" and bring me to a special Verizon page where I could choose to sign up for the Mobile Web Access(which I never did sign up for in the first place) or allow me to check txt messages used, minutes, etc...all airtime free through the browser. This E815 won't even let me do that....just says network not available. Verizon says I am not even supposed to get anything BUT this message....there is no airtime free checks without signing up for mobile web. Anyone else phone work or not work for at least the free part without having paid for mobile web???

Besides using a data cable or a transflash card, is there any way to receive free MP3s on the E815? I know Verizon nomrally charges 25 cents for PIX messages. I have the $5 a month TXT/PIX feature...but no data cable yet or transflash. (I have a Bluetooth adapter, but obviously can't do much besides synch my contacts without doing a seem edit...of course which I need the cable for first).

Do places like funformobile send MP3s in a way so it is only charged as a TXT message? (I think 10 cents). Any other options? Thanks. 🙂

I just got off the phone with Verizon customer service regarding price of plans.

When I had AT&T, I could change the cost of my plan and the number of minutes included, without any prorating of minutes and without extending my contract. That was the best, and dang near only, thing I liked about AT&T (free inbound text messages was the other thing). As long as I kept the same type of plan, I could move up or down in cost and number of minutes without any problem. I could change it up or down each month if I wanted to do so.

Now, according to this rep, Verizon is doing the same thing. For example, I have the America's Choice plan for $59.99 that gives me 900 minutes. My plan starts over each month on the 4th. If I look at my mi...
