E 815 Battery is HORRIBLE

đŸ˜ĸ I read all of your reviews about the E815 and was thrilled to buy it. The phone does everything you guys said except the battery is horrible. I got this phone last friday and already had to charge it sat, sun, tuesday, thursday and again saturday night. granted the charging of the battery on sat and sunday was because I was playing with the camera and putting in all of my phone numbers. NOTE: Each time the phone said LOW BATTERY and I charged it until it said CHARGE COMPLETE.

But the phone will have 2 bars of battery life left and then the next thing you know is its beeping saying LOW BATTERY. Does anyone else have this problem? My wife's E815 does the same thing and she doesn't have a clue how to play with the camera and other stu...

E815 - speaker placement

is anyone else annoyed by the placement of the speaker on this phone - being on the back?
seems like it should be on the front. it would make the ringer seem louder wouldn't it?

Extended Battery

I just got the extended life battery for the E815 and so far so good. I will post more about the performance in a few days. Regular battery life was horrible. ☚ī¸ 😁

GET IT NOW????

I was just wondering of a couple of things. I spoke to a vzw rep and they said that get it now updates every week. I haven't had anything under what's new in almost 3 weeks.

I was just wondering if anyone else is having the same issues. The moto A840 has so many applications and i have none. if anyone can help let me know.

e815 vs 6100

Does anyone have the e815 who used to have the 6100 by LG? I have the 6100 and it is really dropping calls more and more. I previously had the Motorola T720 which NEVER dropped calls (maybe once or twice in two years). I'd see postings on dropped calls, but didn't really understand what people were talking about because I never had that problem . Anyone who has knowledge of the 6100 AND the E815, I'd appreciate the input. Thanks!

updating phone

I tried to do an update tonight and couldn`t. I got thru to verizon and heard the message about pressing 1 or 2 depending upon what you want to accomplish. When I pressed two , nothing happened and a few seconds later , it prompted me to press 1 or 2 again . after trying again, I got disconnected. I tried the same procedure a few times and each time I failed.

Ringer Volume Issues...

Is there a reason why the ringers that you put on the phone (whether it's midi or mp3) are so much softer than the default midi ringers? This is driving me nuts, because the phone will be right at my side and I can't hear it ring in a busy place when the volume is at MAX (7). I've tried volume maximizing software (like mp3gain) but that is of limited use. What do the default ringers have that the ones I put on my phone don't? Does this bother anyone else? Thanks.

Charging/Turning Off

Great phone, love the E815 and I have had none of the problems mentioned by anyone else here. Although I have noticed and it does bother me that when I plug my phone in to charge, it freezes a second, then turns off. This is annoying and I don't want to have to deal with turning on my phone when I charge it. Any ideas?

Dumb Question; Removing the battery

Okay, don't laugh at me too much. I got my new E815 yesterady & LOVE IT!! One small question, what is the trick to remove the battery? I have been pushing down on the battery door & pushing to the left & the sucker won't open ☚ī¸ ! Is there a trick? I don't want to be too forceful with it.

QUESTIONABLE BUILD

my first 815 was awesome, i loved the features and especially the signal strength. but i had to return it because only 4 days after i had it the top part of the phone was kind of loose. it would move side to side from the bottom part. it just bugged me too much and i dont think a phone is supposed to do that. anybody please just let me know if you have had the same problems because i do not want a flimsy phone.
thanks

How to add contacts?

Can I email or text message names and phone numbers to the contact list on the phone?

If I buy the USB cable do I need phone tools?
Also does the OEM usb cable charge the phone?

I would be happy emailing or text messaging contact info as I don't have that many people I call daily but I don't want to type all the info in on the phone 🙂.

RESPONSE FROM CNET.COM AND E815 REVIEW!!!

I sent an email to Kent German, Senior Associate Editor at CNET.com. Here is the original email and response. Also, original review and revision regarding phone book.

ORIGINAL EMAIL:

Dear Mr. German,

I feel honored that you responded so quickly to the error in your review of the LG VX-8100 having analog.

I also sent you another email in regards to the Motorola E815. You wrote, " a 1,000-entry contact book, although your contacts' various phone numbers and e-mail addresses appear as separate entries, which is an annoying quirk". This statement is somewhat misleading to interested consumers, and gives the impression that their is no option for primary listings. One can display contacts to show primary listing only, and toggle...

Pouch for 815?

Has anyone ran across a good, nice fitting belt pouch for the 815... leather or otherwise? I already have the OEM belt clip and Moto leather case. I like the look of the leather case, buy the clip mechanism just hangs too far off the body. I like the phone a little tighter/closer the the body.

Thanks for your replies.

couple 815 questions....

i absolutely love my 815 but i have a few concerns.

1 would be so far every day ive had it, one time a day, it will freeze then it looks like the software reboots. the whole process takes less than 10 seconds to go through. it hasnt happened during calls but just while playing around with the phone. so it hasnt been TOO inconvenient yet but we will see...

another question i had was about the camera. i see in the settings you can set it up so the contrast is higher, is there anyway of saving the setting so the contrast is higher? because it looks so much better when the setting is on 6. let me know! thanks
