Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

Anyone reading this live or travel in Northern NH, Eastern to Mid Maine and up to Quebec??

I'm currently using Verizon with a dual mode LG and the phone gets coverage pretty much everywhere.

I'm concerned switching to "all digital", Verizon says i will get reception in the extended digital area and if I do I'll be OK, I thought it best to poll a group of experts.

I hate to have to get 2 phones to insure coverage.

Does anybody know of a retailer that sells motorola mobile phone tools. I live in Northern California. My local Verizon store says that I have to buy it from motorola directly. Thanks for the replies in advance. 😳

anyone?? mine does not work.... when i drop calls...i get no tone...

I noticed the posts that say to hit the menu key (the one in the middle of the top row with four lines on it) and then hit 0 and enter 73887. Whenever I try this- the phone doesn't do anything. It just pulls up the main menu.

Am I missing something?

I was reading in the manual that the front display screen should show you the Bluetooth voice command functions (Call, Send pix, Send txt, Go to, Check etc). For some reason when I hit the call button on my Jabra 250, the screen lights up but I don't see the list of commands on the front screen - I do still hear the commands through the headset though and have to open the phone to see what the precise wording is for the function.

Is there a setting that enables this?

Apologize for posting a similar question in MP3 thread but I'm desperate. Read all the other posts. I can email and play MP3 but can't save as ringtone, store only.

I changed (renamed) MP3 to MID and emailed but phone does not recognize it, it will not play. I tried to add text to subject and body of email, no dice. Why does my phone not recognize the MIDI emailed message. Do I need to mess with it before I send or something else, or maybe my phone just doesn't like it. I see the other rings in phone are MIDI and they play fine.

Appreciate any assistance! Until then I will continue to bash my head against the wall!

I really like this phone. It seems to have many more pros than cons. Since this is my first flip phone. I'm still a little leery of the hinge durability. I always seem to be very gentle when I'm opening it. It just doesn't have that solid "stop" feel that some of the LG phones I've handled have. I also seem to be very aware of not putting too much pressure on it when I'm talking on it.

Can someone who owns this phone or the V710 please comment on the durability of the lid hinge. Is it fairly durable overall, or should I continue to baby it. Thanks for your input.

Are you able to have one picture on the internal screen and a different one on the external, I want to have a photo on the internal and the seashore that comes with the e815 external

After being reminded on an earlier post that my phone is not a GameBoy, I actually want to find out if games can be installed on this phone. I think it's a fair question, since it was advertised it could run games. And I'm not talking about the VCAST, $9 a pop game. Just any other basic, simple games like Tetris. Anybody have a clue on this one? My MPT multimedia provides no heading for games, nor do I have a list of compatible games.

Yep, it's just a phone, but it would be nice to play a game to pass the time while waiting for an oil change, airplane boarding, etc.

I was about to buy the SKN6311 USB cable with Motorola PhoneTools from a seller on eBay. However, I first took a quick look at Motorola's page about MPT, which says the following:

"V300, V400 and V600 users can also transfer audio files and images between their phone and PC, and compose MMS messages."

It doesn't say anything about being able to do so with the E815.

Can it be done with this combo? (I realize I may have to upgrade MPT online first.) Or can it ONLY be done via TransFlash?

ive used lgs and motorolas for a long time and experienced lots of problems in the past with most of my motos and i just recently bought a e 815 and here we go again shuts off and flimsy
design is made for a girl not a rugged man who is rough on phones. im not even going to get it fixed, im going with the new 8100 yaaaa!!! 🤣

does anyone know how to get the pictures from your phone....in the internal memory to you computer. I have the mobile phone tools with the usb cable but they do not tell you how to do that. Basically, I snap a picture with my phone and I want to see it on the computer

I have been using this E815 for the last 5-6 days and exchanged for another new handset once already. I have been noticing annoying echo during conversation, I don't know if anyone else have the same problem. Feedback highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Where I live, Verizon is in the process of switching from 1x to EVDO and so my phone often switches between the two. My battery does not last very long. I just returned from Boston, where the switchover to EVDO has been completed, and I found that my battery lasted more than twice as long there, having lasted more than four full days with substantial call usuage.

Someone earlier posted that the switchover to EVDO causes battery drain. I can now attest to that.

does anyone think we'll finally be able to use the speakerphone with the flip closed for once like on the Sanyo phones????? if anyone can shed some light that would be great.

When you go to menu>ringer styles>details, there is a line that says: Reminders. Mine is set at "beep". The choices for change are Beep, Vibrate and Off. Since the low battery beep is a reminder ( I think), can you set the reminder to vibrate or off? I haven't had my battery low enough yet to get a beep and try this. Has anyone tried? Or is the reminder beep for low battery not the same as what I just wrote about? Thanks

How do you know when the phone is completely charged, my old LG use to say Charge Complete, PS: This is one of the best phones I ever had, always LG before, Thanks to this forum I went with the E815 and I'm very happy I did.

Could you give me your step by step directions to dl mp3's on my E815.Also where did you get Napoleon's ringtones?
