Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

ay can someone help me. i tried sending mp3's from walmart and funformobile.com, but when i try to save files it says file type not recognized and idk how to save the stuff on my fone. i jus returned my 8100 , and ive always had LG phones so using this new motorola fone is very complicated for me.

I have a Motorola E815. I wanted to know if there is any way to tell if I'm on a cellular or PCS band in my location. What menu do I have to access to tell me this? Is there any way to know if i'm actually using a cellular frequency or if I'm on PCS? I figure if anyone knows how to do this, someone on this forum will. Thanks.

Are the sounds that play when scrolling through menus supposed to play through the extrnal speaker or the earpiece? Mine are playing through the earpiece and can barely be heard even when the scroll sounds are set to 7.

Also when picking a new scroll sound it initially plays through the external speaker until I choose to use it. Also I did a full reset AND clear of the phone and still my pics remained that I took (I have NO transflash card...just the phone's memory), and also some of the options I had to choose separately (not defaults) still remained. Any idea on these 2 issues? 😢

Mine doesn't come on every time. Any idea if I may have a setting changed somewhere that explains this?

My 815 only lasts for 2 1/2 hours total talk time. I charged it last night from 1030pm to 700am the following morning. Is this the normal battery life?

Well I received my adapter over the weekend from Esotechtrix and I got to say it rocks man. I am using the adapter with some KOSS the Plug headphones and they get the job done. I am really glad that I decided to go with this adapter. I can actually use the phone as a replacement for my MP3 player. I actually used my cell with this adapter at IKEA and you know how loud that place can get….Nothing stopped me from enjoying my music not even the large crowds. The bass response is not the best, but come on what do you expect for a cell phone? The adapter plugs in perfectly into the phone and does what it says. Now i did a search, and there was a topic on face plates, but it didnt answer my question. from what i know I'm pretty sure the V710 face plates work on the e815, but does it void the warranty? Also, how would i go about getting the original face plate off? And someone said using double sided tape for it, but that just didn't seem like the best idea, maybe it is. Any help would be great. Well I just picked up my second E815 to try and hear this "perfect voice clarity" that so many people are speaking about. Yet the earpiece speaker still sounds distorted as if the speaker is junky at Volume 7 (the volume I would like to have it at.). I have heard a few people mention this issue and say to use Volume 4....well what is the point of 7 then, the volume that should suit me best. Also I heard a fe wpeople mention their sound quality was crystal clear even at 7. Time to get another one????? Thanks.

I just emailed 2 rigntones, a really small file and a 315kb or so one. THey both came in as QCPs, the same file extension as voice records. It sounds poor and sounds like its in fast motion. Any idea why it changed format?

Now, I am on EVDO getting 400kpbs to my laptop computer over the Bluetooth modem. What in the world is going to happen for data charges if I don't have a data plan?

Why have the PCMCIA card from Verizon for $80 a month when you can tether like this? The V-CAST and the EVDO feature are completely different entities. Basically speaking, if one were to disable V-CAST, they still connect to the EvDO area. So, if you loose your V-CAST, and you are in an EVDO area, GIN still utilises the EVDO service.

Is this a mistake, or too good to be true? If a user is in the EvDO area, the phone can't / won't switch to 14.4k?...

I tried putting my TF card into my 815, hoping it would play all my V710 media. It didn't recognize it and asked to format it. I said no so I wouldnt lose what I had. I connected the card to the computer (through my camera) as usual so I could put the **** I had on my computer. It didn't show up so I figure I lost it. Although pissed, I accept this fact and put it back in the 815. When I try to format it, it says format failed, try again? What should I do?

Okay so after having and returing 3 t720's and 4 t730's and then being given the v710 for free because of problems I ended up exchanging it for the lg vx7000 and didn't have a single problem. I had been waiting for the lgvx8100 BIG DISAPOINTMENT. So I wearily tried out the e815 and i LOVE it.

Okay now this is my FIRST problem with the phone in a week. It has to do with the Mp3 player. It was working great, but then I deleted the files and reformated the card. Then I loaded new files on and now it won't let me play a playlist. I can only play one song at a time! I don't know if it's the card, or if it's the phone or maybe the files. I actually got it to play a playlist, but it only had 3 files in it. I really want it to play the 50 songs ...

I can not access all songs I transferred to it. Any know how I can view every song on this card????? It only shows about 10 songs on the phone. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nowhere in the instruction book, the box or the phone does it specify what card to put in the memory expansion slot of the 815. Even on the Phone scoop links to accessories for the 815 there are no cards shown to buy. Does anyone know what card to use, where you can buy it and what a fair price to pay for it would be? I would want a 128 or 256 Mb card.

I was wondering if anyone here has ordered or used this adapter yet? I just ordered one myself and will post a review once I have tested them out. I hope they work out for me….

I am trying to get rid of the beach pic for the exterior screen. I would prefer it just be blank. I tried resetting the wallpaper and resetting the phone but nothing changes. Do I need to remove the battery? Thanks.

My E815 causes an extreme echo to the person who calls me when I have it connected to my wife's truck using the Bluetooth portion of her Nokia CK-7W car kit (wired and Bluetooth kit). When she has her non-BT Nokia 3588i in the cradle, there is no echo on the caller's end or on our end. If we pop out her phone and hook up mine via BT, the caller gets a strong echo back of every word said. I hear a slight echo on my end of every few words, but not hte whole conversation.

I went to a cellualr repair shop yesterday and the tech told me that Bluetooth, when used with a CDMA system, allocates half the BT bandwidth to data and half to voice. He claims that is what makes the BT echo. He said that BT and GSM together do not echo, because...
