lg 8100 user please answer before I trade

I've been using the 8100 and it's great - except for the speakerphone, which is why I may trade for the moto e815. On the 8100, I can watch recorded video (TV shows that I put into 3gp format and transfered from my computer)in full screen. Does anyone know how to play recorded video in full screen mode on the E815? I was able to play VCast video in full screen on the e815, but couldn't when playing recorded video. This will help me decide if I will trade my phone. Thanks.

MP3 control when closed - side buttons

Does anyone know if there is a seem edit that will allow you to control mp3 playback (next/previous song, pause/play) with the side buttons when the phone is closed? I've looked through the forums for info, and found a ton of stuff about the mp3 player, but didn't see this. Anyone know?

EMS messages received are truncated

According to this site, the phone supports EMS text messaging and "EMS extends text messaging to include pictures, melodies, animations and long, formatted text messages."

I sent a test message from Outlook to my phone. The subject was "subject test" and the message body had 310 characters including spaces. The phone only received 127 characters in the body of the message. That is about the same as my old AT&T SMS phone would receive.

I know some characters are taken by the message headers with this phone, but the same was true for the AT&T messages on my old phone.

How many characters should an EMS-capable phone receive?

Thanks!

sync with outlook

I currently have an lg 4500 and I got a datapilot software to sync my contacts and calendar with outlook....has anyone purchased the mobile tools from motorola or verizon and can you sync these with outlook. It would be nice to sync with outlook directly and not with datapilot, which uses there screen to import outlook..you then connect with their program to the phone. Can you do directly from outlook to E815?

I've been searching everywhere for the last few hours to try to find a copy of PST version 7.1.1 or greater for moto. Does anyone have a copy or a working link they can send me?

New Every 2 Deal + E815

This next week I get to get a new cellphone using the New Every 2 Deal...my question is...do we renew our contract, and then I can get a new phone based on that 2 year contract PLUS the 100 off? SO i could I theoretically get the phone for $50 dollars if that's the right sales tag that I saw?

I have the LG7000, but was playing with the 815 and fell in love with it..

assign ringtone to category?

ok so i finally figured out the mp3 ringtones, thanks to the forum.

now i have issues on how to assign ringtones to categories. how do you do that?

i assigned ringtones only to certain people. that has been working. however, i thought i had set all other incoming calls to this one particular ringtone (i was fooling around with my phone). yesterday a random person called me, it rang as one of my assigned ringtones i had for my friend.

can someone help me figure this one out? i already looked through the manual and its not very helpful. i feel like the motorola menus are too long and less user friendly than the samsung i had.

Drain on battery by leaving bluetooth on all the time?

Does anyone know whether there is much added drain on the battery by leaving bluetooth on all the time instead of activating bluetooth during a call and then shutting it off at the end of the call? Which is the preferred method?

Analog vs. Digital in some areas

I'm thinking of getting the E815 but I'm worried about that fact that it is all digital. I live in the Harrisburg, PA area and was wondering if anybody has had any problems getting a signal in the Harrisburg or any other area's since this phone has no analog. I believe that Verizon is going all digital by the year 2007 but a poor signal for the next year and a half isn't sounding too good just to have the latest phone. Does anybody have a good link to a digital map of verizon's that will show me where I might have problems. The map I saw looks like I could have a problem traveling through N.C. but I'm not sure how good that map was. Thanks in advance for any info.

POssibly trading in my 8100 for the 815. any opinions

Hello,
I would like to ask the users of the 815 if they have accidently dropped their phone, and if it still worked? I'm asking this because I've seen some posts on the 815 on its not so sturdy design. Also when you play MP3 does it play in stereo thru a headset ( with the small adapter)? Any help greatly appreciated, I just might be changing phones.

possible to adjust outer display contrast-brightness...?

My clock on the outer display is really dark even on bright days. Just upgraded from the 710 and not having a clock "always on" the outside really annoyed me. This is good except that its really dark and there is barely and contrast at all.

I checked all through the menu's and didnt find any options for the outer display, unless I overlooked it somehow.

Anybody have any ideas?
