Dial Up Netweorking

Just a simple question about this phone. Has anyone been using it successfully for dial up networking with the various software upgrades? I don't care about Vcast. I just want to be able to use it to call Dial Up ISP's from my Laptop when I am traveling, the same as I do now with my LG 6000. I have done searches of these threads and find all kinds of mixed questions and answers regarding this. I assume that I need a data cable that I can easilly purchase to connect to my Laptop, but has anyone been able to then use the phone for their dial up connections to services such as Earthlink? Of course Verizon sasy No. Verizon says no to anything we actually need it seems, unless we want multiple accounts.
Thanks for any help.

Question on BT headsets available through Verizon

I see the headsets available through Verizon that are posted on verizonwireless.com, but does anyone, employee or otherwise, know ALL the BT headsets available directly from Verizon? I thought there were more than that and I thought I had seen a Plantronics behind the ear one w/ eargel and extended mic awhile back. Could you please list ALL BT headsets I could get directly from Verizon? I've called CS, but they keep telling me about the handsets they have that have BT or just plain not getting what I am asking. I didn't think it was such a difficult question. Anyway, if anyone could tell me I would love you for it!
Thanks in advance,
Mary

clock size

I just purchased the 8100 and am very dissapointed that a phone this sophisticated can't display a clock size any larger than the "normal" setting, which is very small. Has anyone figured out how to make the clock size any bigger on the front panel?? thank you.

To make it easier to read, I took a photo of a white sheet of paper and used this as the front panel background. But I would still like to see the font size bigger.

Bookmarking Favorites

Not sure if this is a phone specific question or a carrier specific one. But I have the 8100 and Verizon, and cannot figure out how to bookmark a favorite. Everytime I go to Favorites, it wants me to type the long URL. Is that the only way?

So so all the 8100's have the volume problem?

Hello,

I've had the 8100 for a few months and this problem persists. Its workable, it just gets annoying sometimes.

I'm trying to decide if getting the phone replaced (I have the insurance) would fix the problem.

What to get for mp3's and for music/video storage?

I have looked around a lot on this forum but I haven't had these specific questions answered. Tomorrow morning when my NE2 is up, I'm going to get the 8100. While I am out, I would like to get all of the necessary pieces to be able to download mp3's from my computer and have memory to store them along with video clips.

can someone that knows please list all of the components I need to buy extra and maybe where and a rough guess on the price? this would be greatly appreciated!

Derek

Old news?

I found a way to get on the net, via the 8100, that lets u open full web pages. ie, i was able to check out phone scoop and read all the forums, reviews and everything (expect post anything). I even saw that new Samsung while on the crapper with the pic and read the full story and all. Is this old news?

Planning to Switch

I currently have a Motorola E815 and am thinking about switching to the LG vx8100. I know almost everyone in this forum is probably a fan of the 8100, but I am looking for some truly unbiased opinions.

Basically, I love my E815...WHEN it works. I am on my 6th one (the first two or three were due to manufacturing defects right after the phone initially started shipping...the last three had other issues). Anyway, with my E815s...they start out working perfect, then seam to deteriorate. Problems start happening more and more. I was wondering if anyone experienced similar issues with the 8100?

Also...what are some other problems people may be having with the 8100, and have you found any solutions?

Like I said...I am looking ...

Pics and Sounds

Hey all...

Okay...question. Sorry if this has been answered before.
I want to email through ###-###-####@vzwpix.com the songs and pictures that I had (alot of) on my phone. I love this phone so far, and I used to be able to do this via the V710. It is not accepting it anymore, why not? How can I do this? Please let me know.

Anyone need a 64 mB mini SD?

I wasn't sure about the functionality of things like mp3 and all on this phone when I got it, so I didn't want to invest in a big mini SD right away. I bought a SanDisk 64 mB mini-SD and used it to experiment and test things out so I was sure everything worked and that I would actually feel like using all those functions. I was happy with it, so I ordered and just received the 1GB. The 64 mB is a great choice for anyone who either only needs a few mp3's (i had 10) on their phone at once or just wants to test things out before making a bigger investment. It came with the adapter, and would cost probably one stamp to ship. Anyone want it for $8 shipped? It's yours. Just reply to this.
