PC Sync function available on 8100?

i've been following this thread for quite some time. does anyone know whether this phone will be able to SYNC with the computer with, say, Outlook, on calendar and contact infos? the specs sheet here does not list this category. this is very important function that i'm looking for in a phone.

also, i've talked to an Indirect agent in L.A., who confirms that it's on their approved list. he says to expect it sometime in july.

**Stereo adapter and headphones**

I have been looking through the forums for a few days trying to figure out how best to get the music coming out of the phone to go into my car stereo or headphones. I bought a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter at Radio Shack a few weeks back, but of course it only played mono through my car stereo's aux-in port. Sometimes if I jiggled it just right I could get it to go stereo, but the first bump I hit in the car it went back to mono.

Tonight, I was at Wal-Mart of all places and I found a solution. I was in the cell phone accessories area and I found a Plantronics "Mobile Music" headphone set made just for the cellular industry. It was just under $15, and the best part is that it is 2 pieces-the headphones and adapter are separate. The result is...

Vibrate options?

I'm probably not going to get the answer I want but are there really no other choices for vibrate besides on or off? My previous phones had different intensity levels, intervals, including an old LG phone. 😕

Syncing software for Outlook

I am looking to get this phone but was hoping that someone could comment on available syncing software that would bring Outlook contacts into this phone. Please comment on this if you have any experience syncing with Outlook, using products like Data Pilot or another.

I want to bring many of my contacts from Outlook into the phone without needing to manually input them. In the past this has been a real pain for me and if I can sync with Outlook, then I will never experience this challenge again.

Thanks for your comments.

Help with Bitpim

i have installed bitpim on my computer and have bought the usb adaptor. i then edited my first mp3 file and coverted the mp3 into a short clip that just had the chorus of the song i wanted. i went under my ringtones and it worked perfectly fine. then i edited a second song and then went under my ringtones again. when i did this my phone automatically turns off. i have tried it about ten times and everytime i try and go into my ringtones it just shuts off. has anyone experienced this problem and if so how did you resolve this? does anyone know what it could be? thank you in advance.

Pairing with Tungsten T5 - where do I find the passcode?!?

Hey all, I'm lost.

Love my VX-8100 - have wasted *way* too much time playing with all of the stuff that it does, and I'm sure my Verizon bill will reflect it. But, I did want this phone, and I'm determined to get the most from it.

I got the sw update so it does tunes - waiting for miniSD from NewEgg. Got the Jabra stereo headset. And man is this phone LOUD!

Paired with my Mac for bluetooth, though from reading the posts that I'm probably trying to connect to the wrong port for bitpim. I'll get to that, I just need to be patient and read.

Here's my thing - I would *love* to pair my phone with my Palm Tungsten T5, though I'm not particularly happy with Palm for it's 'GSM-Only' approach to wireless phones. Needless to say, if I try...

$50 Rebate - Too Late?? Help

Okay, I screwed up. I purchased my 8100 on July 11th. I purchased one for my wife about two weeks ago. I have been meaning to send in the $50 rebate for mine, but misplaced the rebate form and put off looking for it. I had it in my mind that I had until sometime in October to send it in. Tonight I found the form and discovered it was supposed to be postmarked by 9/17 and received by 10/3. Am I completely SOL? Was there only the one rebate form?

Is this the 9800 thread or the 8100 Thread?

Why are we discussing the 9800 when this is the 8100 thread?

Thi sis almost the same situation as the torrents EXCEPT the torrents had something to DO with the phone. The 9800 does not!!!

SO STOP TALKING ABOUT IT here!!

9800 TO LAUNCH TOMORROW, 10/01/05...

I tried the 9800 at the Verizon store tonight. It's gonna launch tomorrow, but the rep let me try it, and I played around with it for about 45 minutes. However, it didn't have its initial activation yet.

Overall quality is very nice. Good "fit and finish!" The keys feel great on both the front keypad and the QWERTY keyboard inside. Very solid and confidence inspiring!

I like that you can also enter extra characters, like Spanish "tilde" and other accents.

The outside screen is so-so. The inside screen is about the same as 8100, but not as nice as 8000.

The camera seems to be about the same as the 8100, but I didn't try it much. Again, it's not as good as the 8000 camera, though.

Using the QWERTY keyboard is very nice and easy....

Played with the 9800-my thoughts on why I like the 8100 better.....

I went into my local Verizon store today and played with the 9800 for quite some time. I love my 8100 but always like to check out the new latest and greatest and knew deap down that if this phone blew me away, I would probably get it. Well, it didn't and I didn't and here are my reasons as to why and my thoughts about it in general........... (see disclaimer at bottom)

It is kind of cool if your looking for a toy. Other than that, I wouldn't choose it for a phone. It was about the size I was expecting, but still bulky. The outside key pad had tiny keys and I didn't like the feel. Outside screen was good, but not as good as the 8100. Another thing I considered about the "candy bar" style is you would have to lock the keys to avoid ...
