Dumb question...

To get the software updates for the 8100 do I just take the phone in to a verizon store and tell them to update the software? If it matters I live in California.

Thoughts on the new LG VX9800 vx. 8100????????

Ok, I LOVE my 8100 and wouldn't have even thought about changing phones for quite awhile, but noticed the new LG VX9800 is now available online at Verizon.com. I can't lie, it has peaked my interest. It seems really cool, but not sure if I like the "candy bar" style phone as well as the flip and also if I don't send a lot of text, do I really need the keyboard? Also, I do have mobile web, but I can breeze through that so fast already and most sites you can't even type stuff in anyway and as far as sending e-mail, I have my home pc for that. There is absolutely no reason I would want to get rid of my 8100 (having no problems, love it, etc.) but again, this has peaked my interest and wondered if anyone here had any thoughts on the 9800 its...

Can you organize music?

Does anyone know of a way to organize music, similar to iTunes or any other music software, on the 8100? I use the mP3 player all the time, works great, however it would be nice to play a playlist, or choose an artist etc, rather than have the same set list, or even shuffle.

lg 9800?

not sure what to think yet? but i know for sure that i love my 8100 and the flip style is more convenient for someone who is on the go.
honestly i dont watch too much tv or movies on my phone although it is way cool that it is capable of it! and the 9800 being lengthwise
seems more bulky but havent held one yet so im just thinking outloud

IT HAS BEEN RELEASED

I just talked to a technician at the Crossgates mall in Albany, NY and he said it has been released and as we were speaking another technician was uploading it to their computer. He's going to call me back in 20 minutes. He said it fixes a number of problems: Fluctuating volume, enables mp3 player, and camera delay. I will get a full description when I go to get the update.

MP3 player and card limit! 35 songs! Can't be! Using 512 card

I just got a 512 card and so I started loading songs on the card. Well when I open them up on the phone if only shows 35 songs. That can't be right! Shouldn't it hold more or did Verizon stick it to us again? 😲

Trip to Verizon Store - BT/8100/9800

Stepped into Verizon today. I know couple of the reps up there and they pulled the demo of the vx9800 out which is being released tomorrow at the stores. I would not change from 8100 to it. The delay is not there on the camera like on the 8100 though. Its smaller then i thought. uncomfortable on the ear though. If you are hammering out the Txt Msgs then maybe its for you but it didnt have anything different then the 8100 and was longer (size of the 8100 plus antenna), it is slightly thinner.

I told the manager at the store i thought he should have a display with the BT headsets so you can go in and link to them and test them out before you buy. He said its in the works. I told him about the 8100 issue with the BT and he said they...

Has anyone tried bitpim 7.36 yet?

I have 7.35 and it works great with the 8100. But I am wondering if anyone has used 7.35 yet and if so, what are the changes/improvements?

Also, I recently got an LG 4650 to replace a defective Kyocera SE47. Anyone know if either bitpim 7.35 or 7.36 will work with the 4650?

Thanks!!

Finally some nice custom fit cases for the 8100

I've been wanting to get a case for my phone, and I didn't like the one that Verizon sells. I recently looked on ebay and finally they have some nice cases for the 8100. For a while all I could find on ebay was pouches, which I didn't want.

Basic black leather (comes w/car charger):

Pink vinyl for the ladies:

I've gotten one of each. The black one is a fits the phone but the clear vinly that covers the keypad is a little off on the fit. But I needed a charger and it w...

Snooze gone on alarms.

I have recently noticed that when my phone alarms the option to hit snooze has vanished. I know the problem has been happening to some other people that I know. What about you guys...and gals?

If I could make the perfect phone.......

I would re-make the Samsung SCH-a890 with stub or no antenna add Bluetooth and an MP3 player! That would be MY perfect phone right there!

Still undecided?

Can't decide on a phone??

Try the LG VX-8000... a super good phone with 2 SPECTULAR screens and an awesome camera (no delays!!)

I've had it 2 weeks now and I have experienced absolutely NO PROBLEMS... great sound, great reception, comfortably loud consistent earpiece, solid build.

So, if you can't decide on a phone, or want to switch from a problematic phone, give the 8000 a try, if you can live without BT. Also, I'm currently not using Mp3.

I'm a very happy camper!! ( ^o^ )

I have a phone that works beautifully... EVERY TIME!!!

Need help w/mini SD card problem

I got a new miniSD card - 1gb. I've had the 512mb, and had no problems with movies (tv shows), mp3's, etc.

I got the new 1gb card in the mail today. I formatted it in my phone. I copied the files from my 512mb card to my PC's desktop. I then put the 1mb card in the reader, and tried to drag the files - my_mp3, my_flix, etc. - to the 1mb card. It keeps telling me it can't find the file.

I can open the files on my desktop and see the names of the mp3's, the 3gp files, etc. When I open the 1mb card in the card reader, I don't see the files like I do on the 512mb -- MY_PIX, MY_MP3's, etc.

Anybody??????

BitPim/Cable Please help

Hello. I just purchased a LG-8100 phone with Verizon. I wanted to know what kind of USB adapter I will need to purchase in order to use Bitpim. I have looked at ebay but I am not sure which cable will work. I have read some posts that say not all the cables will work. So my main question is which cable will work in order for my PC to communicate with my LG-8100? How do I know which is the correct cable?
Thank you.
