One Sprint Forum, Please!

It's 2009, and Sprint now owns the companies that comprise four Phonescoop forums. There should only be one forum. At the very least, maybe two. One post paid for SprintNextel and one prepaid for Boost and Virgin Mobile.

C'mon Mods. How about it? 😕

Old SERO, New Phones

hi all,

I'm looking for some answers. right now I have the Touch Pro, which I am overall pretty happy with. I do have some issues with it, like a couple of small cracks on the screen 😢 I'm looking to upgrade this November, maybe December. are there any suggestions with what phone I can get that would be similiar to my TP, but maybe a bit less crashing/freezing. also, I don't care if I have to pay full price or not, as long as I keep my SERO plan that is all that matters !

thanks!

Verizon to Sprint Switch

been thinking about it for a while and we are ready to pull the trigger....just had a question.

can i use gps and data in the grey roaming areas or is that voice only?

i ask because a lot of the areas off of major highway (especially rural areas) says grey (roaming)....just want to know what to expect when I am roaming in that area.

thanks all

sprint coverage

would a sprint phone not work everywhere a verizon phone works since they are both CDMA? do they operate on the same frequencies, share towers, etc. i live in a remote mountainous area. verizon is pretty much the goto here. i looked on the sprint coverage map and it showed that most of my area is covered under "roaming". is there any cons to this? i dont really know anyone up here that has sprint. i want to switch but i dont want to port my number to try the service and i dont want to be stuck with a new number if i dont port. just trying to do as much research as possible before i make my move.
TIA

new contract, chances are?

I haven't had a new phone in several years, because I never saw one I liked.

I have been thinking about getting a htc hero though lately.

The plan I am on is not a sero plan and has everything the erp everything data plan has except it costs much less.

I accept I might have to pay more, but not 2X what I am paying now for the same service with a fancier phone.

Any chance I can and how do I go about getting a plan for the hero that isn't so much more? I don't mind signing a contract.

Tmobile has some big news!

So big that it has a code name "project black" and is supposed to lift T-mobile out of the the number 4 spot among national carriers! (I hear a buyout announcement.) Or maybe this could be a HOAX, who knows. Well i'm going to sit back and see what happens. Here's is the link below:

iPhone-like for sprint?

I want an iphone, but I'm on a family plan with sprint. So what's the most iPhone-like phone that sprint carries? I looked at the pre, but it only has 8 GB of storage, so that automatically eliminates it right off the bat. Sprint's website says the Instinct S30 can be expanded up to 32 GB (the same space as the iphone) which is an acceptable (but still small) range for me. It's lighter than the iphone (good), but thicker (bad, and that's the only size dimension I care about). I've also heard that the camera is bad and the software interface is very slow.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

For pople who dont understand Bussiness

Sprint did have a loss of revenue, but they still posted a profit.

"Sprint reported over 1.6 billion U.S. dollars loss in the last quarter of 2008. According to Sprint, its 4th-quarter loss in 2008 equaled to 57cents/share, definitely better than its reported $29.3 billion loss in 2005 due to its Nextel acquisition. The business analysts anticipated more or less $8.55 billion profit for 2008, Sprint reported $8.4 billion. Not bad, huh!

As stated by Sprint, the loss was a result of subscriber losses. The company served 49.3 million customers at the end of 2008 compared to 53.8 million at the end of 2007, a net decline of 1.3 million. Post-paid consumers increased from 79 percent in 2007 to 84 percent in 2008
"

and here is the linkht...

Coverage in Northern IN?????

My sis wants to try Sprint service. She knows she has 30 days to try the network, but I thought I might check here first to see if anyone has traveled through or lives close to the area who might know first hand. She lives in South Bend which is close to the Michigan state line.

Thanks in advance for any help. 🙂
