Verizon Representative - Misinformed or Just Lying?

A Verizon rep, Randy #4371, who made sure I knew he had 30+ years in the cell phone industry, wanted to know why I had turned off 2 of my 3 lines earlier this week. I was calling today to find out why my phone lines were still active. Turned out the rep earlier in the week told me the wrong day for them to go off. Anyway, I explained that I was tired of Verizon turning off features in their phones like GPS and some Bluetooth modes.

Randy proceeded to tell me that Verizon doesn't disable the GPS functionality in their phones (and by implication, the Bluetooth features - guess he didn't hear about the lawsuit(s)?).

He mentioned federal law requiring GPS in the phones and I proceeded to explain the difference between A-GPS and stand-...

FM transmitter, new phones

I'm curious if there's any word on upcoming phones being equipped with an FM transmitter like the Chocolate 3. If I'm interested in this feature is it worth waiting based on speculation? I'm just not sure if this is something that's gaining popularity and can be expected on more models in the very near future. I don't NEED a new phone right now, but I figured each day I wait means less value to my current phone (Chocolate 2) when I list it on ebay. That's the only dilemma I face.

Or am I stuck with the Chocolate 3?

Charged for uknown data usage by Verizon!?!?!?

I have called Verizon about data I supposedly used, the phone stays with no websurfing no emails no pix texting and got a 150.00 data charge. I dropped my phone a few weeks ago and the only thing I can think of is maybe my epocrates got reset to autoupdate via internet not when hooked to my computer. I never requested these updates never wanted them and now have a 150.00 extra charge that i can't explain. Any help. Called Verizon there stance is I should pay the bill. Seems unfair to me. If I can't resolve with them I will end my 10 plus business with them Luckily for me contracts end soon and will make them regret this as our business cell phone contracts are separate from our personal and contracts have already expired. Any advice greatly ...

A serious question about the Versa

I wanted to know if the Versa has different themes to choose from for the menus? I have the Voyager and am bored to death of the only choices being black or white. I know the Dare does the same thing. I was hoping the Versa would be different. Because it seems so modern and cool 😳

@ call center reps

I understand you guys are just trying to do your jobs, and I'm not trying to bash you, I just have a question:

I just had a customer come into my store with a phone her dog chewed up. She said she talked to someone through customer service and they said she should go to a store and they would notate the account so she could get her annual upgrade a month early.

She specifically mentioned that she planned on coming to the Store where I am (the nearest corporate store is well over an hour away, so a quick zipcode check would show this) and the customer swears that she was told that she could come here and we could take care of her issue.

I am an indirect retailer. I can't view any notes on the account, so the only way I can sell a p...

Omnia data features

Sales rep in store said that you can't get an Omnia without a data plan. Omnia has wi-fi, so does anyone know what happens if you can remove the data plan after activating? Can you still use the brower when connected to a local network?

Thanks for any info!

Porting to an employee account

Ok I understand that all employees can (finally) add and remove features etc and even add a line to a family share plan on the "My Verizon" web site.

So if I want to add a family share line to a relative's account, I knw we can do it on the web and poof by magic, the ESN is activated, we do a *228 and the phone works.

Now for the tough question: How do I port my existing phone numner (in the same name as the employee) to be ported to that phone? I know in the stores there is a porting procedure but how do you do it on an employee account? Call Employee accounts?

Northeast region.
Thanks

Does Verizon unlock Storm GSM bands for use overseas?

Some time ago, somebody in this forum mentioned that after 60 days of owning a Storm, Verizon, upon request, unlocks its GSM bands so that the phone can be used overseas with European SIMM cards. I went to the store today and was told by several salesmen that it's absolutely untrue.

Any good up-to-date info on this? Thanks.

The surprise of the Versa

I am still trying to find out why the Versa is at the high price of 199.00 when they cut back on the camera to 2mp and passed on a 3.5mm jack. Plus with the keyboard feature make the phone a quite a bit inconvenient. Plus the phone looks ugly when the attachment is on. On top of all of that the web browser is slower on this phone than with the dare. I would figure that this would be a 99.99-129.00 range not 199.00. Let me know what all of you guys think. Thanks again.

Switching to Verizon

Hey everybody I currently have an iPhone and I am switching to Verizon and I want to keep my iPhone. Will I be able to access the app store from Verizon's network or will the speeds be slower than AT&T's "3g".
