Does anyone know when or if the Storm will get an upgrade to include Mobile TV?

Hello everyone!

I'm new to the forum but have been a reader of it for quite some time. Everyone seems to have good info so I thought I would ask a question of my own. Does anyone know how long T-Mobile has the rights to the new Curve or when it will be released to Verizon? I"m a huge fan of the phone but certainly wouldn't leave Verizon to get it! I know I could wait for the Niagra (I think thats what its called) but I think the size is a little larger than what I would want. Any info anyone has would be awesome!

I have been with sprint for a while. And this last year or so they just keeping getting worse and worse. I am trying to decide who to go with. T-mobile OR Verizon wireless. I have heard many pros and cons about both.

I would just like to know from you, the users. What do you like, and dislike about Verizon wireless? How is the service in the city, and out of the city? Please let me know anything you DISLIKE about the SERVICE. Thank you 😎

There seems to be quite a few threads on here lately about people leaving VZW simply because another network is offering a deal on a cool new phone (BB Bold on AT&T is one example). This makes no sense to me at all. If I have said it once, I've said it a thousand times...I don't care how awesome the phone is; if the network sucks the phone will too! A phone is only as good as the network it is on. In my opinion (and experience) Verizon has the very best network by far.

Now granted, there will always be those rare instances when a different network has better coverage than VZW in certain areas. I'm not talking about those people. They have to do what they can. But MOST people are going to downgrade their service just for a new pho...

Very Confused here. I don't get the whole merger thing. So by this date _____ all of Alltel will be Verizon? In places where both VZW and Alltel are offered some of it must be sold to another company? Will someone please explain the whole free calling between the two thing?

I've been thinking about the rumor of Apple creating a CDMA Iphone. What if they are waiting for Verizon to open their network to other devices and are planning to sell the CDMA Iphone directly to consumers? The rumor I've heard is that Verizon turned down the Iphone because Apple wanted a cut of the monthly data revenue. If Apple sells directly to the consumer then they should be able to collect that monthly fee directly, no? Hmmmmm...

I think the 5GB for $59.99 is fair. How bout a 20GB for $79.99, 50GB for $99.99 and 100GB for $149.99 and Unlimited for $199.99?

At least this way we can tell a customer they coulda been on a higher plan

I've had the Voyager for at least a year or so and unfortunately not able to upgrade til 3/2010 so I'm in a bit of a quandry...Hope someone has some suggestions:

Basically I did the software upgrade when it first came out last year...Everything was fine for awhile now I am getting these weird issues such as the phone resetting when trying to access gmail.com with the enhanced browser.

Also the battery doesnt hold a charge for that long and I know I can buy an extended battery for it...Does anyone have any suggestions? I went to 3 or 4 different stores and was basically told the same thing....They dont see anything wrong and cant explain why the phone is resetting...Anyone have any suggestions? I have an old LG I suppose ...

I'm up for my NE2 and still struggling w/smartphone vs dumbphone, nothing seems to scream "buy me" right now and I'm wondering what the word is for models for mid to late '09? Isn't there an LG Prada or something? I think I'd like a smartphone, but not sure if I want a BB and the Omnia ~eh~ didn't really impress me.

Looking for the rumor mill. I can keep my LG 8700 until something great pops out at me.

I'm up for re-newal and I've narrowed my choice between theses two phones. Please let me know if or what the major issues are and the major advantages are for each of these phones. Thanks in advance.

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question. But if you wanted to pay your bill in cash at the Verizon store. Do their machines let you do that or you have to pay with a check or card?

As an Alltel customer in the Alburquerque area can I switch now? To Verizon I mean.

I was told by a CS rep today on the phone that the Napoleon was showing up in VZ systems now. Does that mean there is a release date?

I currently have the LG8700... I love this phone, but I want something new. I've been looking at the LG Chocolate 3 and the Samsung Sway.

What are your opinions on these phones?
And knowing that I love my 8700 and how it functions, do you think either of these phones would be a good fit? If not, do you have any suggestions?

The iPhone Excuse

A couple of weeks ago, my colleague Matt Richtel - a handsome devil if ever there was one - spoke truth to power. He said the thing that no one was saying, yet needed to be said. Here it is in a nutshell:

For all its abilities and powers, the iPhone is a tremendous pocket computer, but a lousy phone.

And he’s absolutely right. I’ve owned an iPhone 3G since Christmas, and I could add my voice to the growing angry chorus. See, before I was with Apple and AT&T, I was a Verizon customer for years. And I don’t know what it’s like where you live, but here in 212/718, you can’t swing a cat and not hit a big, strapping band of CDMA...

Is there anyone out there who knows exactly when Verizon will take over from Alltel in Charlottesville, VA? I need to upgrade rather soon, and Alltel has just screwed up a whole bunch of their customers by not offering them the additional five numbers on the MyCircle plans they already have because those markets are being taken over by VZW "at some point".

When will Alltel access Verizons network before Sprints? Right now, if an Alltel customer leaves there calling area and goes into an area with both Sprint and Verizon, it will pick up on Sprint. When will it pick up on Verizon?

It may be until they get Alltels network over to Verizons, but if anyone knew anything, that would be great. My Uncle was wanting to know because he HATES roaming on Sprints network.
