I just was given a used Storm at work. Was trying to figure out what is the latest OS number that verizon has put pout. \seen alot on the wen about different updates but not sure if my phone is current. \any thoughts?

This is for anyone who currently works at verizon or anyone who would know this. I was probably planning on adding my mom to my plan and just give her the basic plan with no texting or internet. So how would i be able to split that between her basic and me and my other friends connect plan? And how much extra would i have to pay for my moms plan?

...trying to be loyal to Verizon for the last 6 months. I know I'm in the minority, but everywhere I've been (in Virginia and mostly Southern California) I've gotten the worst service possible with dropped calls or no service at all. I've been on the phone with CS or in Verizon stores more than I'd like to admit over the past few months trying to figure out what's what. And yes, I'm an avid user of *228 option 2.

Today, when I dropped 6+ calls within 10 minutes while my phone indicated 4 bars of service before I placed/answered the call, I about threw my phone on the ground in frustration. I've never considered leaving Verizon, but am doing so now because I'm just done period. I'm just not sure where to go or what carrier to switch to.

I currently have the Dare and although the txt to voice feature is kinda fun to play w/ it really has very little value. I mean, if i have the phone read out my txt i have to have the txt open anyway so i might as well read it myself...my question is has anyone ever tried to do the reverse? For example, if i were driving and wanted to txt a friend if i were able to speak into my phone and then my phone covert that voice to a txt message it really could help w/ the potential dangers of txt'ing while driving.

Has anyone ever heard of big red or any other carrier trying to implement something like this?

I'm stuck... I did a sync on my mom's Omnia and then she did a hard reset to resolve messaging issues she was having but now when I sync the device with the computer, it loaded her email addresses but not her phonebook. Did I totally screw it up or can anyone save me on this?

My Versa was activated today.

Initial bugs:
The SD slot is inaccessible while the keyboard is on. Most won't run into this very often, but I demonstrate the SD card as part of my job, and take the card out on a regular basis. Today, I pulled it out to wipe off as much of the Windows Mobile stuff on it as I could.

The headset jack is a 2.5mm. I was an early supporter of the 3.5mm jack on Blackberry devices and phones such as the LG Dare and Chocolate 3. I don't agree with Samsung and HTC's all-in-one USB design. I believe that mono wireless headsets should be 2.5mm, while stereo / phone headsets should be 3.5mm. I assume it was more space-efficient to include the 2.5mm jack instead of the 3.5mm, but I don't agree with it.

I am looking to pick up a new W385. I have read a lot of reviews about bad or declining battery life. Can someone please tell me if this is a good phone to get, or have there been a lot of returns of it due to poor battery life.
