Question about Blackberry & Nav

With Blackberries that have VZ Navigator, can you use Navigator as $2.99 single use, or MUST you get the $9.99 monthly in order to use?

Omnia questions

I just saw the phonescoop vid on the omnia and I have a couple of questions maybe someone can answer.
1. Will it play youtube? Is there something on the specifications listing that will always answer this question for me? Maybe Win phones can not play youtube?

2. The specifications for the Omnia on Samsung's website says that it has an FM radio. Will Verizon leave this radio functional

Thx,
Joey

Commercials

Any guesses on the new commercials for Alltel/Verizon?

I think that the AT&T/TMo/Sprint guys will wanna pull a prank on Chad, but they can't find the VZW guy. They go looking for him and see that him and Chad are hanging out at a Verizon store hooking people up with phones.

Though, I'd much rather have Chad killed off for good. Maybe the wizard finds out Chad was fooling around with his daughter and fries him into dust. 😈

is this possible?

For any of you Verizon employees, is it possible to exchange my Env2 in the store for a motorola (of course with them taking my situation into consideration)? VZW has already given me a free month due to lack of service and dropped calls. But my situation is still in the same rut.

Wouldn't they rather give me a phone that works instead of letting me out of my contract early? I'd really rather not let my service go (been a customer since 2001) because I'm hoping that sometime in the future they'll put up a new tower nearby. Is this possible or should I just sell my env2?

(the only way i know a moto would work where i live is the fact that i've had to reactivate my old razr v3m and it's able to hold calls on no bars, but i don't want it ...

Krave vs enV2 (Help!)

This is driving me nuts! 😕
I'm switching back to VZW next month and I thought I had my next phone all picked out. I was planning to go with the Motorola Krave. I love the form-factor, size, and features of it. I'm a little worried that the touch interface will be a pain sometimes, but I'm thinking that I'll get comfortable with it. But here's the thing: My wife just got a new phone through her job. She got the LG enV2 and that phone is seriously nice. It doesn't have a ton of flashy features and it doesn't WOW you with it's coolness factor, but it just plain works great. I have been helping her set it up over the last few days and it has really impressed me with how easy and intuiative it is. Everything about that phone jus...

Any new Smart Phones with Windows?

I'm looking at the Centro, but I was wondering if anyone has heard if Verizon might be getting any new phones with Windows OS instead? The only one by Palm that my local store has is the Treo 700, and I'd like something newer... besides, they told me that one isn't going to be sold for much longer... Thanks 🙂

Open Development press release (AKA non-VZW devices on network)

I've been in conversations with many of the readers on this board concerning activating a non-Verizon device on the Verizon network. This was a press release from Verizon sent out today:

01/05/2009

BASKING RIDGE, NJ — About one year ago, Verizon Wireless, owner and operator of the nation’s most reliable wireless voice and data network, announced it would offer new options for using wireless devices, software and applications not provided directly by the company.

Today, just 10 months after its first open development device conference, Verizon Wireless has made tremendous progress, offering devices that fulfill key roles in machine-to-machine (M2M) communications and certifying two independent device testing labs for Veri...

I need some serious help from people that actually can

So I'm frustrated. Mad. Irritated. Escalated. 👿

Here's the story:
I lost my job with vzw, and I was provided with a separation website that gives me advice on what to do with certain things such as insurance, 401k, and my employee account. The employee account took me to the employee phone program policies and it states two very important things:

1) No ETF's for employees while they are on the EPP.

2) Separated employees have 10 business days to either close their accounts or convert to full consumer accounts. If you don't convert, the EPP will close everything.

So, with this information that was provided to me by the COMPANY, I did what I had to do. Converted one line, disconnected my others (I couldn't afford the other ...

Firings?

Has anyone else seen an upturn in terminations lately? We've had several in my zone and some of them were my friends. The reasons they say they were let go are rather suspicious. First time offenses, minor conduct violations, things like that.

Just curious.

New storm Software .85 ROCKS!!!

A whole new world.

Speeds up everything.
Typing works like it should.
Internet is faster ( and now opens NBC.com full episodes)

Highly recommend downloading, available at crackberry. Official release from VZW should be in the next few weeks.

For Verizon Reps

I have a family talk plan with 5 lines. It is the select plan, except my line is the premium. I just upgraded my line recently and gave the phone to my girlfriend. Her phone is eligible for upgrade in July, and she is going to give that to me. So I want a smartphone. So I am thinking the best thing to do is change my line back to the regular select plan at that time (saves $20), get the smartphone on her number and switch it over to mine. In order to get the smartphone, I would need the data plan, correct? 29.99?? What I would be losing is the Vcast Vpak and VZ Navigator but gaining full blown email and a better web browsing experience, am I right? When I say full blown email, I mean the ability to send attachments unlimited in size....is my...

Someone let me know!! Thanks!
