I ordered my Storm

Thanks for all the opinions and input here. I ordered mine off of the web, since the store did not have them and has no idea when they will have more.
They did have the Omnia and I liked it a lot, however, I chose the Storm because:

1. I picked a World Phone over WiFi

2. The proprietary wires for the Omnia means I would have to get new chargers across the board and always carry special adapters with me. I prefer the mini USB and 3.5 head phone jack that comes with the Storm

BTW. I had asked all over about Youtube on the Omnia, I tried it in the store and it worked with no problem.

Now, I just hope VZW can get the Storm to me before I leave town for the Christmas holidays.

Question regarding sending pics from an e-mail address to cell.

Is it possible to send a picture to your cell phone via an e-mail account on a computer?

Ive tried attaching a .jpg to a message and sending it to [email protected] but it doesn't work. I get the text, but no picture.

Do I need to convert the pic to something besides a .jpg first? Is this even possible?

Any answers are appreciated! 😁

VIP question..

What's the story on being a VIP member? They say I'm a VIP member, and I just assumed it was because of I get a discount for where I work.

Story is.. I used my early upgrade to get my girlfriend a Chocolate 3. The phone was $149.99 with the 2year contract renewal, and then the lady said because I was a VIP member I also got a $50 MIR. On top of that we got a 2gb micro SD card, $50 pair of Sony headphones, and a data transfer cable for free.

I thought maybe she got the free headphones and stuff because I was a VIP member?

This was last weekend. Now fast forward to today.. I got a flier in the mail for my girlfriends phone number saying she was eligible to upgrade early. So I used it to get me a phone. I got the enV2 that was ...

Hanzi

I was wondering if any of Verizon's smart phones support Japanese text like the iPhone does. I get a lot of e-mail coded in Japanese and those little boxes really aren't all that helpful as it turns out.

cheapest way to get text and email

is someone out there familiar enough with verizon to know what the cheapest way is to have voice, text and email capabilities? is the $70 voice & data plan the cheapest way out? saw something on t-mobile called "hotspot" for $9.99, looks like pretty good deal, but not crazy about t-mobile. thanks in advance for any comments.

Mobile Email...Need Expert Help

I am presuming mobile email uses data correct? And if I don't have any data plan, will I be charged data usage even though I'm paying the $5 monthly mobile email fee? Also, can you send and receive attachments and if so are you limited in file size? Can you view emails in HTML format? I have the Dare with the family select 700 for 99.99 for the first 2 lines plus 3 additional lines and would choose the Verizon.net email option if I got the mobile email. Many thanks in advance.

No Keyboard? And You Call This a BlackBerry?

By DAVID POGUE
Published: November 26, 2008 New York Times

Research in Motion (R.I.M.), the company that brought us the BlackBerry, has been on a roll lately. For a couple of years now, it’s delivered a series of gorgeous, functional, supremely reliable smartphones that, to this day, outsell even the much-adored iPhone.

The Storm can display a touch-screen Qwerty keyboard, above, or SureType keys.
Here’s a great example of the intelligence that drives R.I.M.: The phones all have simple, memorable, logical names instead of incomprehensible model numbers. There’s the BlackBerry Pearl (with a translucent trackball). The BlackBerry Flip (with a folding design). The BlackBerry Bold (with a stunning design and faux-leather ...

Should I keep the Dare or go for the HTC Pro

I wanted to thank everyone for giving me the "insight" on the Storm. I was thinking getting the Storm, but it seems that it is mostly negative reviews I have been hearing.
I have had the Dare since July, I like the multi-media of the phone. But when it comes to phone clarity, my old E815 and the original L-Env were much clearer than the Dare.
Does anyone have the HTC Pro? I am thinking of skipping the Storm all together and just get the HTC Pro.
By the way I own both a AT&T phone and an Verizon phone. The Dare is my main phone for everyday use. The AT&T phone is a disposal number I use for only business purpose.
Please, Please this NOT intended to start a "Flame" war. I have been a Verizon customer since "03".
For those who use the HTC ...

omnia, storm, or htc touch what should it be?

i was wondering what phone to get out of those 3?

im thinking about using my upgrade to get phone then return and then buy at full retail then return then reuse my upgrade for final choice only if it takes that long to decide or i will just buy the first one and fall in love

this will work right i know you can only have one return but if i purchase full retail it doesnt have to do with the return of the first phone correct?

please dont say mean things and help a brother out thanks!

Gotta Love VZW

So the big thing with the Storm was you have to have placed the order by 1pm Central Time or some crap like that.

i placed my order at 11am Eastern, and when I inquired about a tracking number today, I was informed that my order was processed until 2pm, even though I placed it in the morning.

I don't know how everyone else feels but these drama with availability has made me not even want the phone all that much anymore, plus I've had time to read all the reviews on it, starting to make me rethink.

Just seems like these release didn't go as Verizon expected it to go.

READY TO PULL MY HAIR OUT...

I JUST CANT SEEM TO FIND A PHONE I LIKE...

I SIGNED UP FOR VERIZON ON 11/11/08 AND GOT THE DARE....

HATED IT BECAUSE OF THE TOUCH SCREEN.

GOT THE VOYAGER.... DIDN'T LIKE THAT I HAD TO FLIP IT.

NOW I HAVE THE BLACKBERRY STORM AS OF TODAY 11/25/08. AND I HATE IT TOO...GOT IT FOR A GREAT DEAL TO 99.99.... I WISH I COULD SCAN MY RECIEPT, BUT I DONT HAVE A SCANNER...

ANYWAY....

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.

I NEED A GOOD, SOLID PHONE FOR TEXT MESSAGING AND EMAIL, PLUS A GOOD WEB BROWSER... I THINK MY ONLY OTHER OPTION IS THE CURVE...

ANY SUGGESTIONS... I DONT WANT THE OMNIA.

BEST BUY MIGHT BE GETTING ANGRY AT ME... LOL... BUT THEY ARE REALLY NICE

Why did Verizon omit WiFi from the Storm?

Seriously, If you are paying Verizon for a data and voice and text plan why should they care if you want to use WiFi to browse the internet on your phone sometimes. Verizons 3G network is good, but its no so good and fast that its better than a good wifi connection, and despite Verizon propaganda the 3G service doesnt work everywhere. In alot of rural places EVDO is barely faster than 1X.
