Twenty Out Of Twenty Three

The latest Consumer Reports cell-phone service ratings survey is in the January 2009 issue that arrived in my mailbox today. The ratings were based on 51,740 responses from ConsumerReports.org subscribers surveyed in September 2008.

The survey scored cellular carriers in twenty-three metropolitan areas. Verizon came in #1 in twenty of them and came in #2 to Alltel only in Charlotte, Cleveland and Tampa. Readers scored the carriers on a scale of 0 to 100. They also rated four categories of connectivity: No service, Circuits full, Dropped calls and Static.

AT&T's best showings were where they came in #2 in five of the twenty-three metropolitan areas.

This was also CR's first survey of how customer service stacked up. Verizon was...

Man I hate my storm

i just hate this phone i cant stand it anymore. i need to be able to type fast maybe some are getting used to it, but i just hate it. i email and txt allot and can do it blind folded with my cure. Plus i hate not having a track ball! not to mention a keyboard that doesn't make mistakes. maybe the storm will improve after months of software updates but the virtual key board just blows chunks for my needs.

oh well just made me fall in love all over again with my curve.

Question for employees

A friend of mine just bought the new LG flip as an InPulse phone. Can she download and use the VZ navigator that's on this phone? Since there's no monthly bill, how does this happen and does using the app use minutes? Sorry for the stupid question but I just don't know anything about InPulse. Thanks.

Phonescoop Storm reviews.

Not even the 5 stars from the verizon fans are saving this phone... Ouch!
I guess that "software upgrade" can't come soon enough. I personally think the phone bombed.

Random Thoughts...

I have, along with thousands of early adopters got a Storm on Friday. That being said, I'm still in limbo. By limbo, meaning stuck with it(got a multiple FRU exchange at the cost of a contract renewal). I'm not a BB guru and yet, not a novice either. I come here to get genuine insight on what has become my new addiction(gym shoe freak, I bought new kicks every week. over 400 pairs of gym shoes). While I really enjoy the "OOH & AH Factor", it's not as functional as my curve was. I'm starting to realize this, and should know better. You can't beat a qwerty, no way, no how. I'm a moderate VZW fanboy too. I was in the AT&T store last night, while the IPHONE did not blow me away(STORM/IPHONE are identical and are the yin/yang to each other), the ...

HELP!!!!!!!!!! and my STORM thoughts.

I played with the storm for a while today because I work in the mall and the best buy rep let me take it to my store.

The screen freaked me out at first, i thought i broke it and was about to cry lol. But then I realized that is how you "click"...Pheww...

I was fairly impressed, I was just weaving between this, the dare and the curve.

Any suggestions?

Motorola ZN5 or Samsung Innov8

I just read the prize fight review of the two devices on Cnet and I was wondering if either of these two phones are coming to VZW?

I'm in the market for a good camera phone that has at least a 5M camera, camcorder mode with at least 24 fps @ 480p, expandable memory, and a decent music player.

Anything like this on the radar or is it time to breakdown and move over to T-Mo?

Even Obama has Verizon! lol

I know this is a waste of forum but I was bored...

I still have to say, shame on VZW on making a blemish with the media. Apparently some VZW employees breached Obama's cell records, unauthorized! 😳

The story behind the laggy Storm & shortages

Crackberry.com:

Essentially, the Verizon Storm was set to launch with an OS higher than 4.7.0.65. The boxes handed out at the Verizon media event on Tuesday in NYC (where all those reviewers picked theirs up) actually have stickers on them that show 4.7.0.82. Yet the devices were actually loaded with the .65 OS. Did you purchase a Storm today? Take a look at the sticker on your box. If you peel it off, you'll see one beneath for 4.7.0.82. Right before the Storm was set to ship en mass, a security glitch was caught in the OS that prompted a hault of shipment. With no time to release a newer, updated OS, the Storm's that made the stores for today's launch were simply a limited number of units that were reprovisioned with an older OS, versio...

WOW, customers need to get over the storm

Seriously people, it's a phone! It's not the end of the world if you don't get one. I'm sorry, I love the idea of the phone, but it's not a life or death situation. I had I don't know how many escalated calls about the storm today. Seriously, get over it if you don't get it today. I can't pull one of of my A** and send to you tomorrow so what's the point of complaining about it????

No you are not going to get the BB storm as a multi exchange from your dare because you've had multiple replacements. The storm is not comparable to any of our other phones.

Early termination fee question

Hi all,

I have been long customer with verizon wireless. I have been meaning to get a smart phone with the email and internet capability. After reading all news, I think Iphone 3g may suite for my need. I live in greater LA area. Therefore, ATT network issues may not be too concern in my area.

I have reviewed my plan and my 2 year contract expires on 06/12/2009. My NE2 is available on 02/09/2009.

I was wondering how much will be for early termination to switch to ATT with Iphone. Can someone give me an estimate?

Thanks.
