Indirect rules and company policies

For those of you in the indirect and corporate side of Verizon Wireless:

What are some of the rules or separate contract terms and conditions your company has?

How do you pay your employees?

How do you deal with returns?

Do you buy from Verizon or do you have separate distributors?

Do you ever have serious conflicts with Verizon reps or competing stores in your area?

What do you use as your POS system?

Do you ever want to punch eroes?

How do you compete with online?

I am and have been in the indirect side for a long time and love selling phones and helping customers but sometimes feel I'm not doing it right. Please give me some info.

backup assistant mb usage

so i always get this freakin call. " i'm not using data, why am i getting charged mb. the only thing i could think of is backup assist. but it shouldn't be charging me bec i have my vz." ok so info manager does state there are no mb charges when syncing from phone or website. however, i can only assume that applies to auto syncs.

so question is, does backup assistant EVER use mbs? also, other than gin browsing/mweb browsing/online games/vz nav updates/mobile email/what the freak else uses mb???

Employee Discount Quote

Hi -

Fairly new around here, so bear with me! I'll be renewing with Verizon for another 2-yr. family contract, and I'll receive an employee discount (I've already registered and have had for years now).

We'll be getting new phones for everyone, but I am a slow shopper and like to have all the information before I purchase. Will the staff at the store be willing to give me a quote on how much of a discount I'll receive on particular phones? I was never told explicitly how much a discount on phones would be, aside from my plans and accessories.

Thanks for any advice/help anyone can give me! 🙂

Fair Price For SMT5800?

I know someone who is selling the SMT5800 for VZW for about $135. The phone is 5 months old with little to no shown wear or usage. Is this a good buy?

Calendar sync via USB -- which phone?

Looking for a phone with which I can sync my Outlook (Google, ideally) calendar without having to subscribe to a data plan, in other words, via USB cable.

What's the cheapest / easiest option?

I'm aware of Gcalsync, but do you need a data plan to make it work?

Thanks much.

$35 Dollar Re-Stocking Fee Starts Today

I understand that as of today, a $35.00 re-stocking fee applies now on all phone exchanges (except for warranty).

This is going to cut down on people buying a phone and just using it and then returning it.

Verizon Wireless 2009

Nov 12, 2008, 8:50 AM

First week with Verizon.

So far I am well pleased. My calls are clear, the coverage is great, except on certain parts of campus (where I had good coverage with AT&T) but I am wondering if I call Verizon and tell them we could use a tower in the middle of campus if they would consider it.

Now about the PN 820 phone:

I know many of you said this phone is awful but you know, I really like it. My biggest complaint was the thin battery it drained so fast. But I just got my extended battery in the mail and wow that sucker lasts!!!

The phone did not come with Mobile AIM, but I downloaded it to my PC and synced my phone to my PC and just copied and pasted the application to my phone, which is so cool!

I really love how good the screen is, the colors are excel...

Blackberry Storm & internet on my laptop

I plan to get the Storm ASAP. Currently I have a basic phone (unlimited usage plan) AND the Verizon Broadband Access (EVDO) Card (59.99 monthly service) so I can get internet anywhere on my laptop. Once I get the BB Storm, is there a more economical way to supply internet to my laptop than through the broadband access service? TIA, Al

Broadband connect with phone vs laptop card

First off, I have never used a laptop connect card, so I apologize if the questions below sound naive.

Are there any significant speed differences between broadband connect through an EVDO rev A phone and a laptop connect card?

Also, with a laptop card, do you get a phone number, and can you somehow make calls using software installed on the computer?

Thanks in advance for the assistance! 😁

Trade in your phone with Rim

With the storm launching in the next few days a lot of people have inquired about changing from another carrier or just upgrading. To offset some of the cost of an ETF or if you just want to get some money back towards your purchase check out blackberry's site.

http://www.blackberry.tradeups.com/ »

While the storm isn't on the site to get an accurate trade in price, they will give about 50.00 for an LG Chocolate 2 and over 200.00 for various smartphones. (like an I phone 3g which quoted 229.50 in good condition)
