Being bigger company = Getting better phones faster?

So does this mean that manufacturers like RIM will treat VZW better and not make them wait forever for phones like the Curve?

Could Apple reconsider its exclusive with at&t and make phones for VZW soon?

Will Sony Ericsson start making CDMA versions of their hit phones?

Will LG put their energy back into CDMA again instead of trying so hard to get some of the GSM slice of the pie?

Merger Question

does the merger mean verizon is going to sell phones that alltel has now, like the muziq, scoop, and glimmer? is verizon going to change the UI on all these phones if they do keep them?

VERIZON/ALLTEL

The bottom line is Verizon will make you pay higher bills and you have less services. Thats the bottom line. If you want to talk about working for verizon your welcome to ask me questions.

Question about VZ Navigator??

I have the Samsung Flipshot and my VZ Navigator version 3.1.4

Online Verizon says the most current version is 4.1

I've tried to do the "check for updates" and it keeps telling me "This version of VZ navigator is up to date".

Am I doing something wrong or does my phone not support the 4.1 version?

Verizon Palm Centro...June 13th for $200???

Hey whats up everybody, I thought this info that was posted on engadget might interest those of you looking at picking up the centro.

QUOTED ARTICLE:

We hope beyond hope that there's a typo here or some sort of magical bonus discount that'll be applied at the cash register, because documents coming out of Verizon at this point seem to indicate that Centro buyers will be paying a whopping $269.99 before $70 mail-in rebate when the device supposedly hits all retail channels next Friday, June 13. Sprint's version was just a single Benjamin many months ago, so we really don't see how Verizon can justify this kind of coin. Unless there's like a $100 bill in the battery compartment of every phone, we guess.

VZW still only cares about the retail subs numbers right?

I better not hear VZW marketing make a huge deal out of the overall number since they downplayed it so big when they passed at&t in retail.

Hello VZW People

I just wanted to say hello to everyone that is not BB2709 or AvgJoe. I love reading on this site, i just tend to skip around BB and AVGJoes posts. I hope to add something to this board that others wont refer as 'TROLL' and maybe help some people out.

A little bit more on the VZW/ALLTEL deal

Just first things first. I thought that VZ could have purchased Alltel prior to GS and TPG buying out Alltel but obviously, they lost to them. They also wanted to see how GS and TPG would fare with Alltel. Of course, as I have showed you on the presentation on slides 15 and 16 you can see the coverage maps. You can see that VZ focuses on more of the urban areas and Alltel with the rural areas. They mentioned that Alltel overlaps only 15% of VZW’s network. That is yet to be seen. I will update more on that as I get more information. Of course, integration should be relatively easy as they both use the same technology for 3g and the same idea/intentions (LTE) for 4G. Of course, they both have success with mergers. Alltel with Western Wire...
