Inflating Commissions?

Are sales people encouraged by management to add unwanted extra services to an account?

I just did my New Every Two thing and purchased two enV² phones without paying attention (my fault) to the fact that the corporate store sales rep added V Cast to both my lines at $15.00 per month each.

It wasn't until I received a snail mail from Verizon, thanking me for the business, that I saw the listed, unordered, unwanted, V Cast feature. I phone the Billing folks. They corrected the accounts and I received a $30.00 credit notice by email.

Had I not noticed, I would not have attempted to access V Cast because I have no interest in it or use for it. That could potentially have put me out $360.00 per year (plus taxes and fees) for no go...

A really dumb question about EVDO that I cant find an answer to...

So I have an LG 8600. We just got EVDO here in SOuth Dakota. Everytime I make a call or text, the double bars (EV and 1x) merge and EV goes away.... but on my razor, which yes I got the new programing in, the double bars dont go away during a call or text....

So I am confused why it does this. The person at the verizon store that I called was no help.

Some input please...

I have 4 days left on my 30 day exchange. I currently have a 6900. I like it a lot. I just like a touch screen. I downloaded the sbp skin, and that makes it SO much better. In any case, I really do miss the physical keyboard. I'm a recreational PDA/smartphone user. They basically do the same things, minus the touchscreen, right? I just surf the net, email, pix/flix message, and I'd say that's pretty much it. I really don't need all that WM6 has to offer, but having that option is nice, just in case. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Reps - Customer plan help please.....

So I've searched verizons site but can't find my answer......

Originally I was looking to upgrade to the ENV2 but I really like the BB Curve.

Is there a family plan I can use a BB on & 2 regular devices? Or do I need a special seperate BB plan?

Currently I have a 2 line family plan 700 mins.
We never go over due to almost everyone we know being on VZW. I want the BB, unlim data (main line only), and want to add txt - is this possible on a family plan?

I can't even find the new data plans on VZWs website.....maybe it's me......

Product Placement

So I'm watching Iron Man this weekend see Tony Stark pull out a vx9400 with it's giant VZW logo and all.

I throw up the V and then realize...
"Why is he video-conferencing?!"

Later Terrence Howards character has a vx8600. Ah, the nostalgia...

Anyway do you think VZW will get it's money worth for paying to have their product in a movie? This just pops in my head cause I work for VZW, but really wonder how it affects people who aren't in the cellular biz. Do you think the average Joe cares that he has a VZW phone? Or do you think most concentrate on the manfacturer of the phone. I know LG's gonna get paid from pushing their product, but how much does it really affect VZW?

Also the Nokia 6205 will be the feature phone in The Dark K...

New Every Two/Early Upgrade

Ok...after reading some "misinformation" posts by "former employees" and "people who think they know" this just has to be done.

1. An Early Upgrade can be performed after 12 months of service are completed ($49.99 or higher price plan). A new two-year contract is required, you get two-year sale price and NO New Every Two discount. You forfeit that discount for another 20 months. There is also a $20 Early Upgrade fee that is added on top.

2. The New Every Two is only available after 20 months of service completed on a price plan $34.99 or higher. From $34.99 to $79.98 you get $50 towards the cost of a new phone. From $79.99 on up, you get $100 towards the cost of the new phone. This is ONLY available after 20 months and not sooner...

Backup Assistant Wipes Out Free 411 Numbers

I’ve been using Verizon’s handy Backup Assistant for about a year now. The fee is waived if you sign up for their My Account.

When I activated my two enV² phones last week, I used Backup Assistant to download my phonebook entries from Verizon’s server to both of my new phones.

In order to avoid paying Verizon $1.49 for each 411 Directory Assistance call, I’ve been using Goog 411 http://www.google.com/goog411/ and Free 411 http://www.free411.com/index.php They work very well and are both free, but Google’s both reads the number to you and connects you directly. Free 411 just reads the number to you and you either have to remember it or write it down before manually dialing.

Hereâ ...

Curve Text Input

Excuse me if I'm being ignorant, I'm a first time BlackBerry user.

All of my phones had some sort of auto complete for SMS input (or general input), I can't seem to get my new Curve to autocomplete. I'm stuck typing the full word every time.

Thanks in advance for any help!

If people knew this, I'd be out of a job.

I was bored. So I present the most common questions that we get as Web Chat Reps and their solutions...

Are you a robot?
No.

Are you in India?
No.

Can you give me a discount?
No, but I wish we could.

Can you order for me?
Once again, although I really wish we could, no.

What is your favorite phone? What's the best deal? What is the most popular phone?
Usually the one you're close to buying.

In order to place an order online,
you have to be 18 and have a credit card (NOT a debit card) - even if there is no charge for the phone itself (if there is no cost for your phone, a credit card number is still required to verify your identity)).

You will be charged only for ...

Any advice for a phone discount at upgrade?

Hoping someone could give me some advice on how to obtain a lower price on a phone I'd like to upgrade to. First, let me give you some background...

*I've had my phone number active through Verizon for 8 years this August. Originally, I had my own account. However, my dad passed away last year and at that time, I transferred my account over to my mom's Family Plan (that she had shared with Dad) because she didn't want to lose her awesome plan (she been a customer since Verizon was GTE Mobile--we're getting like 3,000 minutes a month for $99).

*When I merged on mom's account, I was more than halfway through my 2-year contract (and also more than halfway to my NE2 credit). If I stayed on my own account, I would have been eligible for...

BB 9000

So I'm sure those of you that read endgaget have already seen this but apparently BB is making a CDMA version of the 9000 that is supposed to be for VZ. That would be exciting if they did. It would be nice to have a BB device come to VZ close to it's initial release, maybe then Joe would stop talking for 5 min... never mind that would never happen. 🙄
