Brand New Service Survey - Guess Who Won Hands Down

The January 2008 Consumer Reports arrived at my home today. They have a special cell phone section on pages 30 through 44.

There is a multi-page report on cell phone service covering 47,629 responses to their most recent survey in September 2007. The ratings again cover twenty major metropolitan area across the US. There are numerical Reader scores and graphic survey results for the following four criteria: No service, Circuits full, Dropped calls and Static.

Why does verizon argue with their intelligent customers

ok first off not all of verizons customers are intelligent...but I happen to be one of them, self proclaimed of couse.

anyways I got the xv6800 big reason why it has wi-fi and instead of paying an outrageous amount for their service i'm around wifi 90% of the day so I just use wi-fi, but i did want to block all data for the phone so i didn't, or my wife didn't use EVDO and rack up my bill.

so the rep argued with me for 15 minutes on the fact that if he blocked my data access it would block my wifi... I just kept telling him to do and I would be fine, but he didn't want me to call back and tell him that I needed him to reverse so I could use wifi...

why people why

first off the rep should know that sort of info, second if the cu...

Network Unavailable?

I've got a Samsung U740.. and today for some reason when my girlfriend tried to send me a picture it never would let me open it.

I didn't think too much of it, but then just now I tried to use the phone to get on the web and check my account status..

When I did this it kept telling me the network is unavailable.

What could cause this? It's worked fine until now.

Yesterday I did take my phone to Verizon when my bluetooth headset wouldn't work. They reset the phone.

Do you think maybe that would have something to do with it?

Why do corp stores.......

I went to 4 corp stores today to check out the 6800 in person. I know it does not officially come out until tomorrow, but I thought I would try. At the first store I spoke with 3 reps and they claim the have never heard of the phone and there were no new pda phones coming out. The second store said it will be out by New Year. The third store said it will be out in two weeks. The fourth store had a working display phone and let me play with it. I am sure the other stores had it??? Are some corp stores better than others or were they just playing dumb? ****Also I ordered the 6800 online and I would like to add 3rd party apps...what are some good sights to download from (pay or free) and what are some apps that are must have!!!!*******th...

Blackberry - AOL

Is anyone else having problems accessing an AOL account from their Blackberry? I have had my Blackberry since Friday and all was OK, and suddenly the mail stopped. My other (non aol) accounts work fine. I tried resending service books, deleting the account and reentering it. Any ideas or suggestions?

buying fom an indirect?

Hello,

If I renew my current contract and buy new phones from an authorized agent, and say 6 months down the road the phone goes bad. Can I go to the Corp store to exchange it, etc.?

Also, lets say during the first 15 days I change my mind about my selection, would I be able to exchange at the Corp store, or do I have to go back to the agent I bought it from?

Thanks

Best Deal I Can Expect?

I plan on going to my local Verizon store tomorrow
night. I am interested in a XV6800 and a Blackberry Pearl. My wife is a NC state employee and I believe their discount is 19-20%. I have heard differing stories on whether that also applies to the phones.

What is a reasonable best deal I can expect as far as the plan and equipment discount. Can I cancel the data plans for both devices or must I keep them. We both don't anticipate a true need for them.

Thanks for your help.

question (sorry if it's a repetitive bluetooth question)

has anyone gotten ftp or obex to work on an env? i cannot get anything pushed to the phone. i have a treo 750, sony w580, pantech c150 and samsung a727 and a Kensington bluetooth adapter for my pc and everyone of those work perfect except for the env. after reading everything about the phone i thought i'd be able to work with it. they only give 1 minute for discovery but even if i do it quick enough the env won't accept it... i set permissions to always allow and still do not get a response. i know for a fact that nothing is wrong with any of my other devices. is it a device issue or has verizon not opened up as much as i thought?
also, sending a picture from email to the phone (none of the email options on the phone allow for attachments,...
