Can't extend contract without using NE2?

In August I bought a RARZ2 and extended my contract for 2 years. The NE2 meter said 10/7/2007 so I did not take that option online.

Now my NE2 meter is pushed out another 2 years. Does the NE2 get gobbled up everytime you extend a contract?

Buying a phone at retail w/ no contract extension

Can I still purchase a new phone (the i760 is what I have in mind) at the full retail price and not extend my contract or deal with hassles of the salesmen trying to extend my contract? First off I am still on an older family plan $79 for 1000 min. that I share w/ my wife. We both use a combined average of 800 min/month. Now I dont want to go to a 700 min plan and pay overages. And why should I pay an extra $10 to get 1400 min (400 extra meaningless minutes since I will still be doing only 800ish /month)? So I figure I buy the phone and throw it on my current plan.

Also, why is it that you cant just buy the phone retail and walk out of the store without activating it? When I bought an XV6700 last year for retail, the rep said I must acti...

Rev a vs Rev 0

Guys I have a question I am new to the PDA phone but I have a question I think I understand that Rev a has to do with the speed of incoming info right? But how better is Rev a going to be to Rev 0 (I think I'm saying it right) because I know that the i760 is the old rev 0 and the 6800 will have the rev a. I think I'll end up getting a sling box hd so will the rev a make a huge difference or what?
Thanks for any help you can give...

pda mms question?

My understanding is this was fixed, however i want to make sure. If i have a pda that is mms capable, lets say the Q(but really want to know with the i760 coming) If you send or receive a picture message and do not subscribe to a data package(just a text and pix pack) do you get charged per kb on that picture or will it just work like a phone would. I know in the past this was an issue but I was under the impression they fixed it so mms would not charge kb's but I would like to double check because i don't beleive everything i hear🙂

Can i buy the new Q without buying a data plan?

i really want the new motorola q9m and i am upgrading from the samsung a990. i really dont need the internet or data since i am only going to use the phone for a planner, camera, texting messages/pictures/videos and obviously.. as a phone. I have the unlimited verizon to verizon messaging already and thats pretty much the only extra plan i need.

is there anything i should know if i do buy the Q and not buy a data plan?

Cingular vs Verizon for PDA Phone

OK don't kill me here but just a question...
I live in MA. and was wondering how is Cingular compared to Verizon in my area for Data/Voice? I was waiting for the Samsung i760 to come out but now I thinking should I just wait and get the HTC TyTN II it seems an all around better phone. All my close friends do have Verizon (which I do too) so there goes my mobile to mobile minutes but Cingluar does offer roll over minutes and I'm not on the phone that much (have 900 min plan for Verizon and never ever go over) but I do text a lot and most of it's mobile to mobile.. I know this is a Verizon forum but want to hear what you guys think.. no bashing just actual fact vs fact .. Thanks in advance...

RAZR2 Battery Problems... Already??

From a recent review. Yahoo News seemed unimpressed with the phone in general:

The rated standby time for the Razr2 is 330 hours, or two weeks. That might be true under the best of circumstances — in light use, we recharged the phones every four days. The Verizon Wireless model, however, wouldn't hold a charge for more than a few hours, so we got a replacement. It only held a charge for 24 hours. This is worrisome, but it appears to be a fluke — neither Motorola nor Verizon said they had heard reports of power problems. Certainly, if a brand new phone acts like this, return it to the store.

New information for SCH-i760!

So you've all been asking for new information on the i760? Well, how about prices?

Model SKU: SCHI760ZKV
2 year pricing - $399.99
1 year pricing - $449.99
Full retail pricing - $519.99

There you have the pricing for the phone; the only thing I don't have right now is the release date. I've been toying around with the phone for a while and I love it. Due to the fact that Verizon's XV6800 is atrocious looking, this will be my next phone.

Details on release date when I know it.

no speculation, no OMG THIS IS SWEET!!!

just sayin', it's been out at a GSM phone so we know what it's got, and for VZ I guess it's got a 2mp shooter alongside the TV service. nothing new, just wondering who else had theirs land.

Are we getting the KU990 or is AT&T going to get that 2?

I was just wondering if Verizon was getting the KU990? Is Sprint going to be the only one with the Touch or do we have a chance at too?

On PDC phones can you still send yourself Ringtones?

I am waiting (like everyone else) for the i760 and was wondering can you still send ringtones to #@vzpix.com and get them to play as ringtones? I never had a PDA phone and was wondering if it would/will still work

What to do???

I have a VX8300 and am extremely antsy about getting into something newer without the antennae on it. I have the 8300 sold but the person wants it tomorrow. What heck should I do?

I want something as good as the 8300 in battery life and reception. I like the mp3 player and I use the calendar, notes, and some other basic tools. I am thinking of trying to string 30 day returns until either the Z6m or VX8800 or U900 come out.

Until then what would you suggest between the enV and the 8550 or possibly the KRZR.

Also, any other nice high end phones coming out that I didn't list? I am not too sure I want to go the smartphone route quite yet so don't bother with those.

Thanks everyone!

silencing the text ring on Q9M

Does anyone know how to silence the ringtone for a text message when it comes in. Moving the scroll button works for a call ringtone but not for a text

samsung

Is it just me or does the 410,540,340,870 all look the same damn phone to anyone else. I know some of the features are different, but man it is like they mass produced the body of the phone and just painted them different.
