Validity of Asian knock-off phones

I am posting on this forum specifically because I know there are some very knowledgeable Verizon reps here and because I am a VZW customer.

I have seen websites that sell a wide variety of knock-off smart phones and I would like to know if they are compatible with the Verizon network. There is some really interesting product out there. I've seen a an iPhone that runs Windows mobile OS and an iPad that has a Google Android OS. There are also several styles of psuedo BlackBerry's that look identical to their authentic counterparts, but I know that it's what inside that really counts. The price point is in the range of $75 to $150 which is enticing, but my gut tells me that this would be a huge mistake. That and the fact that they only accep...

SAMSUNG FASCINATE SIGNAL NOT UP TO PAR?

i recently purchased the samsung fascinate, along with a friend when it was free from best buy two week ago.

I was kind of going back and forth between this and the incredible.

My other friend has an incredible.

My phone usually sits between -96db and -101db, and my call quility usually is just ok and internet it pathetic. My friend with the other fascinate has the same strength. The incredible came over. Her phone was -56db and -61db, so she clearly has the stronger signal. Her internet was snappy, and call quality seemed better..

possible?

Android phones come january

won't be eligible for NE2 and discounts till january.

I have decided for sure I want to get android phones for both myself and my wife. not really interested in the VZ iPhone

however, our needs are slightly different.

for me I want a big screen (4.3), fastest possible CPU, wifi hotspot and world phone capability, but no phys keyboard

for her, I need shockproof/waterproof/max durability (she has a tendency to dropkick phones into puddles) so...

is there going to be an upgraded droid X with the 1.2Ghz and world edition capabilities of the D2WE?

is there going to be a verizon version of the motorola defy?

is something else coming down the pipe?

Big iPhone/Android Question

When Verizon gets the iPhone, is it better to still get a droid phone or go with the iPhone? Just cause my annual upgrade is up soon and my NE2 is in August. So just curious.

U.S. Cellular offers the HTC Desire as a CDMA phone, but on "in select" areas of their coverage. Is there are source from who to purchase this unit outright in the U.S.?

If Verizon releases a phone in January rather than November then this would be confirmation that the tail does indeed wag the dog.

Is It Possible?

A few years ago I had at&t and because of a bad decision of letting a friend be on my bill, the bill was 1300.00 in a little over a month because she used data she didn't have and went over her 200 texts by astronomical amounts. Anyway, it went into collections. I just checked with at&t and they said I have a 0.00 deposit...is this possible or a fluke?

Verizon's new $15 per month data plan is now available

I changed my Blackberry data plan this morning to the new $15 per month plan, which should be plenty adequate based on my past usage. If, per chance, I exceed 150MB in any month, the worst likely to happen is that I'll be back to the $30 for that month that I've been paying until now.

The 150MB is prorated for the month in which the change is made.

all I have to say is I'm glad I'm a verizon customer!

OMG! I've NEVER been treated so badly by a cell phone company!

I have an elderly friend that is moving back from overseas and I'm taking care of some affairs for him including cell phone service. But he wanted his own service etc...So being that he's on a fixed income and doesn't get around a lot any more I set him up with a prepaid unlimited monthly plan. The phone works fine but trying to set it up? 2 hours in the retail store and another 2 hours on the phone! I'm disgusted with how I was talked to and treated!

THANK YOU, VERIZON for being the BEST and always taking care of me!

Verizon Wireless To Introduce ‘Any Apps, Any Device’ Option For Customers In 2008

New Open Development Initiative Will Accelerate Innovation and Growth

11/27/2007
BASKING RIDGE, NJ — Verizon Wireless today announced that it will provide customers the option to use, on its nationwide wireless network, wireless devices, software and applications not offered by the company. Verizon Wireless plans to have this new choice available to customers throughout the country by the end of 2008.

Any device that meets the minimum technical standard will be activated on the network. Devices will be tested and approved in a $20 million state-of-the-art testin...

Any Blackberry to Android converts out there?

My first smartphone was the Palm Centro and I now have the BB 9530 Curve. My favorite features are the almost-instant push e-mail and the physical qwerty keyboard and not having to deal with a slider form factor. I have tried the Storm and can't deal with that particular virtual keyboard, even in landscape mode. I use LinkedIn, facebook, twitter on a daily basis so that's also important to me. I would like to hear from users that have converted from BB to an Android phone or other platform so I can determine if there's a benefit. Motorola has a couple of products that although they are sliders, I am interested in looking into.

important question about new phone and phone bill

i recently got a samsung fascinate and i love it, i want to get TV at my house and am compromising. Here is a question for you.

I just got the phone and signed a new 2 year agreement. If i have a basic phone and put that on the account instead of the samsung will this do anything to my account. i will downgrade my phone bill about $40 a month if i can do this. I would then just sell the samsung if it is possible.

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
