Radioshack

RadioShack reported its first-quarter profit plunged 85 percent, hurt by weak wireless sales and inventory write-downs.

I think they made a huge mistake by going with Cingular over Verizon. I'm loving this! 🤣

Verizon, You're fired!!!

I am going to call Verizon and fire them. I know I will pay the $175 contract fee. But, is it their practice to try to offer me goodies to keep me? Thanks.

monopolies R' Us

I know that Verizon now has their own internet service, and V-Cast and Get it Now, and yada yada. But I also noticed that for V-Cast you more or less need Windows Media Player 10, which means you need Windows XP, (which a lot of ppl I know stick to their windows 98 as they HATE windows XP.) but wat I was wondering is, is it just me, or does any one else see a possible HUGE merger?

I mean Microsoft, and Verizon. Imagine if you will if this happened. Cell Phone/Data's biggest/best server (or soon to be after they over take Cingular, which I am not trying to start a flame thread, just being honest from all my understandings and wat I have read, it will only be a matter of time) and Microsoft merging would make one of, if not THE world'...

Treo 650 or 700

Hi all
I’m new to the forum and have several questions.
I’m not planning to use this for e-mail so is one better than the other?
Is e-bay a good place to purchase either phone?
Have there been any up grades and should I be worried about mfg. date.
Thanks

Verizon phones on Alltel Towers

Just had a question about something that happened to me over the weekend. I was in an area in eastern Ohio that Verizon does not cover. Alltel provides service in that area because i know many people that live there and use alltel. Usually when I am in that are my phone says Extended Network and works perfectly fine. I was visiting some friends at their house and noticed my phone was searching for service the whole time i was there (i tried turning it off and back on etc. Well they both have alltel and had full DIGITAL signals and they told me that alltel had recently (within the past few months) put a tower in about 1 mile up the road. I was just wondering why my phone had no signal and they had a full digital signal?

Soldier in Iraq wants to cancel cell phone
MADISON, Wis., April 25 (UPI) -- A U.S. Army soldier called to active duty last year and serving in Iraq has run into a problem trying to cancel his $68 monthly cell phone contract.

Pfc. Dane Gabrielson's mother, Tamara Harris, says she's sure her 25-year-old son is not using his Sprint Nextel phone in Iraq. "Dane is over there risking his neck, and he shouldn't have to deal with a cell phone company," Harris tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Under federal law, a soldier called to active duty can break a lease on a house, apartment or car within 30...

Bad news about the Q - Friends in VZW say it's aweful !

Guys,

I hate to say this because you know I like new toys and I have been waiting like everyone else for the Q..

My friends in VZW have their Q's and have been testing for a few weeks.. The word is they are not happy at all..

The Cumbersome interface makes it impossible to use the phone. He told me tonight that dialing on it is horrid and you tend to make alot of mistakes.

The job wheel thing he complains is silly and depending on the app of page you are on, it's nearly impossible to control.

I am very very dissapointed.. The voice quality and speakerphone were decent as the new Moto's have improved and they do sound better but the overall design and usability stinks.

Well , looks like I am just going to have to wait for th...

Oh no hahaha

Oh man 😳 If Cingular follows Verizon on this process, then not only will Vzw not ever change its policy, the other companies will follow also.

Cingy vs. Verizon vs. .....

You people keep arguing about Cingular versus Verizon. Well, I've had them both. Wouldn't use EITHER as my cell=phone provider if THEY PAID ME.
The answer is U.S. Cellular. Plain and simple. Not even close. Cingy and Vzw are poor imitations of cell-phone carriers compared to USCC. Luv ya. šŸ™‚

kinda confusing?

i have a question, but its sort of hard to ask.

ok i bought a phone in '04. then i got another phone in '05 on the same family plan.
this year i want to upgrade the phone i got in '04...but the only problem is that phone is broken into pieces.
is there a way i can switch phone numbers from the one i got in '04 to the one i got in '05 so that i can cancel the '05, and upgrade from the broken one purchased in '04?

or will i have to wait until next year to upgrade the one from '05?
do you get the question? sorry its so confusing.

thanks to anyone that answers

Termination Fee Reimbursement?

Ok here's the deal.

Walked into a VZW retailer (non-corporate) store, they said if I sign up at the end of the month and port my number over I can receive a reimbursement of $150 for my termination fee with Nextel. Some sort of customer appreciation day deal.

Has anyone hear of this? I went into a corporate store and they said they never heard of such a thing.
