MP3/music Whats the point?

I have the lg 9800 and I was pretty psyched for the MP3 player function on it so I could have something when I don't have my ipod on me, but the player sucks.

Am I missing something here? you can't plug regular headphones into it, I bought a Platronics converter at wal-mart and the sound quality that comes out is bad, real bad... very tinny. Does anyone have a suggestion for improved MP3 functionality.

Replace 8100 or wait for.......which model?

I posted last weekend that I ruined my LG 8100 by soaking it in a Diet Coke for about 20 minutes. I actually had a second 8100 -- got one for my wife, but she stuck with her 4400, not being a gadget fanatic -- so activated that as my replacement. BTW, couldn't get it done online, had to call CS. Is activating VCast phones online still a problem?

I feel naked without a backup phone, other than my old 4400. If it were you, and forget the price, I'm eligible for another free phone, would you get another 8100 now, or wait for something that's coming out? What model would you wait for? If it helps, I really like the 8100. Only complaints I've had were related to BT, until I got the Logitech, which works great.

What phone would you ...

If you happened to be bored like me....

I am bored sitting here at work as usual, and I heard something about CD's, and Microwaves. well it turned out to be true.

If you set two CD's just a little bit from eachother in the microwave and turn it on the CD's make an Electric Rainbow. Mind you pending your microwave it can break the microwave, but most are strong enuff to do it, and yes the CD's are most definitely fried afterwards, but eh, its something to do with those old BackStreet CD's, or that DVD you and your ex used to watch all the time taking up sapce in your closet. Well, be careful ppl but have fun.

Samsung A950 Secret 10 digit Code

I was just searching around the internet today for things about my phone I dont know about. I found a thread on Howard Forums about a secret 10 code that as far as I can tell nobody has figured out. To get there you go to your Menu>Settings and Tools>Press * then you put in the six 0's>then in this menu you either press 9 or 0 depending on the software version you have and it asks for a 10 digit code. Does anyone know what this code might be....thanks in advance if anyone has figured it out.

free 411 call

Has anyone tried this. I have heard that you can dial an 800 number and get phone numbers for free instead of calling 411 and paying $1.49 each time. The only catch is if you are looking up a number of an advertiser that advertises with them, you have to listen to a 15 or 20 second ad before you get the number, so, I guess the only cost is that you use a couple of minutes of air time.

The following is the number I have heard of

1-800-411-save

1-800-411-7283

Is there any reasons not to use this service, besides taking money away from verizon or cell carriers?

Good and bad about VZW

I've been a Verizon Wireless customer for quite a few years now and many of my friends have had Verizon since before it was Verizon (it used to GTE wireless in the nineties).

I would say it's pretty much undeniable that Verizon has the strongest, most effective and extensive network out there. I have used my Verizon phone for mobile web in rural areas where other carriers won't even give you a signal.

While I am frustrated as many others seem to be about the lack of recent phone options (especially bar-type phones) and the endless UI debate, I think it is pretty clear that an old phone with an unpleasant UI that DOESN'T drop calls is better than a fancy new one that does.

My concern with Verizon recently is customer service. ...

Best VZ phone for reception in my area

I live in NE Seattle, on a hilly slope leading down to the lake. My neighbors and I have bad cell reception, bad radio reception, and we have to use cable for TV because broadcast reception is bad and Dishes don't work in the hills and trees.

Now that my 2-year plan with Cingular has expired, I'm trying Verizon. The Verizon salesman who signed me up told me that the LG VX8100 phone he sold me is the best one for reception so that's the one to use for my area. I have since figure out that a lot of other things he told me are not true, so I'm wondering about what he said re the phone and am looking for other opinions.

Is there a better phone for good reception in my area?
