EV-DO in Nashville area

😳

Does anyone know when Verizon will expand their EV-DO coverage to the Nashville area? I see that Knoxville TN (East TN) and Memphis (West TN) already have EV-DD coverage. This really doesnt make sense to me as Nashville is a MUCH larger market area.

I did have an opportunity to try out my EV-DO LG VX8100 while travelling thru Knoxiville and in DC/Philadelphia areas while on Christmas vacation and i MUST say that speeds were awesome.

So if anyone has a clue as to when this may happen in Nashville, please let me know.

Thanks,
Steve

Palm Treo questions

A few basic questions:
1. When will VZW ofer the Palm-based Treo 700?
2. When will it be avail using EV-DO network?
3. How easy is Palm-based Treo 650 to use with home Apple computer system?
4. I heard that Blackberry email is a 'push' type email system (i.e. instant send/retireve), but the Treo email system only sends/retrieves email every ~20 minutes, correct?
Thanks

Best Buy Phones - Best Hacking

What are the best deals out there on a VzW phone are far as price vs. feature? And, what are the easiest phones to hack back to full functionality? I know VzW likes to water down their phone functionality, and disable lots of features to push you into their services, I'd like to get around all of this BS.

I just picked-up 2 LG's, a VX5200 for my kid, and a VX8100 for the Mrs, are these OK. After rebates, both phones together will run me $50 out-of-pocket, but are these worthwhile, or should I get another brand?

Hello. I have a question. 🤭 If I have a camera phone, is it possible to send pix to my email??
If yes, how much does it cost, and how do I do it?
Thank you in advance.

Moving to South Florida

Hi everyone:

I wanted to know if you can help me out. I'm moving to South Florida (FT Lauderdale, Miami area) and I would like to know how is the service coverage for Verizon there? I looked at Verizon's Website but I learned from experienced not to trust that type of information. So I want to get feeback from people using Cingular in South Florida. Would Cingular be a better option?

Thanks!

Circuit City Now Verizon-Exclusive?

I know I'm behind da times 'cus I haven't been in a CC for awhile, but is it true that the ONLY cell phone stuff they carry now is Verizon, fo' all stores?

I seems to remember them carryin' pretty much all the nationals an' Virgin Mobile besides, but now, jus' VZW, least in the store I was in. When did this happen?

Not that I'm complainin'.. the store-within-a-store I saw was pretty cherry, had all the phones, several reps, manageable lines. Probably easier than goin' through a standard VZW store.

Verizon numbers compared to last year.

I wonder what Verizon's activation numbers are compared to last year this time. Without Radioshack I would believe that Verizon's numbers are much smaller. Don't get me wrong I love Verizon but they left us and we are going to take them down. Radioshack will make sure Cingular stays number one and that Sprint together with Nextel takes down Verizon. Sorry bud.

Alltel vs VZW...ARE YOU KIDDING ME GUYS!?!?!?!

I read this site everyday but my firewall prohibits me from ever posting.

I have noticed something recently that irks me off.....hey Alltel fan boys...you are not Verizon!

Your service isnt as complete and reliable, you dont cover near the area VZW does, who cares what your rate plans are...Metro PCS has great plans too but is anyone clamoring for their service????

You guys are idiots, seriously. Maybe Alltel works in Deer Lick better than VZW for you, but quit making an apples-to-apples comparison between the two.

Example: I live in a little place called DALLAS TEXAS, maybe you have heard of it? Let me count out how many Alltel stores are here....huh...whats that, oh yeah NONE, way to cover major markets, i sure am glad i pay...

Samsung i830 roaming Voice and Data

I ask my Verizon data rep "what countries will the unit roam voice and push email"?

He told me to go to this link

http://mobileoptions.vzw.com/international/global/re ... »

Is this all accurate? Does the i830 have the exact same roaming capabilities as the current global phones (Samsung SCH a790 and Motorola a840)?

What happened to roaming in Japan?

How much extra on average is this pass-through plus tax and surcharges?

CDMA pricing is $0.69 per minute, plus pass-through of serving carrier's tolls, taxes and surcharges. This information is current as of September 1, 2005 but is subject to change without notice. For a complete list of available countries and rates visit www.verizonwireless.com/international....

Nokia 6256i for $29 at Circuit City

I saw an ad today in the Atlanta newspaper for a three day only sale which had the Nokia 6256i with a free Bluetooth Headset for $29. I assume that this would need a two year contract. Seems like a good deal for a moderately featureed phone and a bluetooth headset. Anyone have an thoughts on why this might not be such a good idea?

Thanks in advance.

Flip phone question

I have customers whom complains that the side buttons on his e815 are hit accidentally and his ringer goes off.

Can that be turned off or what are good flip phone options? Signal quality is important.

Will we ever have the option to.............................?

I've been searching for a new carrier lately. I've had V before but they don't offer some of the options or pricing plans that other carriers do. I was wondering if anyone out there knows if V will offer the option to buy down our nights and weekend times like a couple of the other carriers do?

Anyone had problems with the Nokia 6256?

Just wondered if anyone with this phone has had any technical problems since they put it in service. My speaker for the loudspeaker has gone out, and the phone will not ring under any circumstances, only vibrate. I have taken the battery out a couple of times, and I have also reset the phone back to original factory settings, and nothing I have done has alleviated these problems at all. I really like this phone for what it is capable of, and I really want to stay with it. Has anyone else had these issues? Let me know when you can.
